The movie gave an insight at the life and legacy of U.S. Navy Seal sniper Chris Kyle, who became the deadliest marksman in the country's military history. Based on a true story, American Sniper, which starred Bradley Cooper in the leading role, was a major critical and commercial success, despite its controversy. Following its initial success,American Sniper continued its popularity on Netflix, per Tudum.

One film that may have flown under the radar this year is Keir O'Donnell's feature directorial debut Marmalade, a romantic heist thriller that hit Hulu back in June. Starring Joe Keery as Baron, a simple-minded young man newly incarcerated after robbing a bank, Marmalade is reminiscent of films like Bonnie and Clyde and Wild at Heart — a twisted love story, but one that evolves into something completely different by the time the credits roll. Keery stars alongside Camila Morrone, who plays Baron's spunky, pink-haired girlfriend, Marmalade, and Aldis Hodge, as Baron's cellmate who offers to help him escape jail to reunite with her. Marmalade is a twisty adventure that keeps you on your toes throughout its runtime, turning Baron into a methodical but sympathetic anti-hero that highlights an all-too-common issue with the pharmaceutical industry in the United States.

The ending of Michael Bay's Ambulance showcases why the 2022 action thriller is still creating conversations. Ambulance stars Jake Gyllenhaal as Danny Sharp, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Will Sharp, Eiza Gonzlez as Cam Thompson, Garret Dillahunt as Captain Monroe, Jackson White as Officer Zach, A Martinez as Papi and Keir O'Donnell as FBI Agent Anson Clark. Taking place over the course of one day, Ambulance is a relentless, high-octane roller-coaster that quite literally never slows down but instead throws a number of wild plot, character and story devices at the audience in the midst of the chase.
The plot of Ambulance comes to a head when the diversion leads Danny and Will back to Papi's hideout, where Danny attempts to hand over Papi's share and move on. However, Papi wants to kill both Cam and Officer Zach, as they are now liabilities that have seen his operation. This leads to...

Ambulance, directed by Michael Bay, is a Netflix hit despite being his biggest box office failure, grossing just $52 million. Climbing the global Netflix charts, the action spectacle quickly garnered 9.3 million hours viewed. While it's Bay's biggest box office bomb, it's also his most acclaimed film on Rotten Tomatoes thanks to Jake Gyllenhaal's performance and state-of-the-art camera work.
Ambulance, the high-octane action spectacle directed by Michael Bay, has become a Netflix hit, according to the streamer's international metrics. The much-maligned film released in 2022 is Bay's biggest failure at the box office to date. It only grossed about $52 million from a $40 million budget, a result that disappointed its producers, who had considered the potential of a Bay action joint while the theater industry was still recovering from the Covid-19 pandemic. In total, his films had grossed almost $8 billion, so they absolutely trusted him.

"American Sniper," a dramatized look at the life of the late Navy Seal sniper Chris Kyle (whose real-life actions have been called into question), was a huge hit. And now, it's coming to 4K for the first time.

After watching him play the fan-favorite Steve Harrington for years in the pop-culture phenomenon that goes by the name of Stranger Things, you probably didn’t imagine you’d see Joe Keery as a simpleton with a heavy Southern accent. But Keir O’Donnell’s debut feature, titled Marmalade, clearly proves that Keery wants to break out of that image. His very recent role in the fifth season of Fargo can testify to that as well. And if his performance in Marmalade is anything to go by, then it can be said that Keery is very much on the right track.
I generally take pride in figuring out the twist beforehand in many films, but Marmalade has managed to beat me in that game. Neither me nor FBI agent Otis saw it coming, and that’s where the film wins. Initially appearing to be a run-of-the-mill heist thriller along the lines of Bonnie and Clyde,...

"The painting was a gift, Todd. I'm keeping it." Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson were pretty darn hilarious in Wedding Crashers, but Keir O'Donnell's standout role as Todd perhaps overshadowed a big chunk of the classic comedy. Years later, O'Donnell has gone behind the camera with his own script in hand as writer and director of Marmalade, now in theaters and on demand. Featuring a stellar cast led by Joe Keery (Stranger Things), Camila Morrone (Daisy Jones & The Six), and the never-better Aldis Hodge (Black Adam), the rednecked caper film becomes more than just a love letter to the Southern-laced pursuit of the American dream.

Steven Soderbergh went from directing Ocean's 11 to helming Logan Lucky, proving that rednecks can be just as slick at pulling off the ultimate heist. Years later, Keir O'Donnell is taking a stab at the thrilling subgenre of cinema. You might recognize him from his standout roles in Wedding Crashers as Todd and season 2 of Fargo as Ben Schmidt. However, in his new film Marmalade, which he wrote and directed, O'Donnell is nowhere to be seen, however. It's a small-scale comedy-drama that offers some juicy twists and turns along the way, and combined with the upbeat pace, he might just have a future in the industry from behind the camera as well.
Starring a spread of familiar faces, Marmalade is sometimes a bit too unassuming, as a sort of less impactful Bonnie & Clyde, but ultimately leans into the goodhearted thrills as the story progresses.

Marmalade is a romantic heist comedy that explores the lengths someone is willing to go for love. The movie pays homage to classic films like Raising Arizona and Bonnie and Clyde while adding its own twist. The director, Keir O'Donnell, carefully crafted the look of the film and chose a talented ensemble cast to bring the characters to life.
Sometimes, true love can lead to dangerous situations, as in Marmalade. The romantic heist comedy revolves around Baron, a mild-mannered postal worker in a small Southern town who falls head over heels for the titular newcomer, only to be drawn into a bank robbery that forces him to question how far he's willing to go for the woman he loves.

Marmalade's storytelling device is effective, keeping the audience engaged as the tale unfolds. The performances of Joe Keery, Camila Morrone, and Aldis Hodge enhance the film. The movie starts slow but picks up pace, turning into a twisty cat-and-mouse chase.
One of the characters in Marmalade starts a story with the infamous phrase "Once upon a time," only to be swiftly shut down by his companion. This isn't a fairytale, and there isn't time for sentimental wanderings. And yet, Marmalade soon defies expectations, even when you might guess where things are going. Director Keir O'Donnell, who also wrote the script, starts out in a rather conventional place, but lures us into a false sense of security. I thought I had Marmalade all worked out in my head and even found myself relaxing into the predictable series of events before I was forced to sit up and pay closer attention.

Actor turned director Keir O’Donnell’s first feature behind the camera is a primary coloured effort with some smart plot twists
Although largely comic in tone, this frothy thriller is obviously modelled on classic films noir, with their tales of betrayal and cunning, gullible heroes tricked into crime by femmes fatales, and the ever-present backbeat of quiet economic desperation. But Keir O’Donnell, a character actor making his writing-directing debut, has juiced up the formula with a palette of poppy primary colours and bright stabs of pink, and an ironic, self-mocking tone. That should help this slip down easy with new-generation viewers who may never have seen such classics as The Postman Always Rings Twice or Double Indemnity, let alone later remakes or homages like Body Heat or Blue Velvet.
It also helps that O’Donnell has cast Gen-z-star-on-the-rise Joe Keery (Steve from Stranger Things) as protagonist Baron, a guileless poor...

Keir O'Donnell, who played Todd in the original Wedding Crashers, has heard rumors of a potential sequel and expressed enthusiasm about returning to the role. Director David Dobkin has been discussing the possibility of Wedding Crashers 2 for the past decade, but the project has yet to officially move forward. Owen Wilson, one of the original film's stars, has been cautious but optimistic about the sequel, citing the desire to live up to the success of the first film and the busy schedules of the ensemble cast as potential obstacles.
After years of talks about a follow-up, Keir O'Donnell has an intriguing update on the potential Wedding Crashers 2. O'Donnell starred in the 2005 comedy as Todd, the awkward and artistic brother of Rachel McAdams' Claire and Isla Fisher's Gloria, and son to Christopher Walken's William and Jane Seymour's Kathleen. Delays are bound to happen when making movies, but something was clearly wrong when Amusement was postponed not once but twice in 2008. It wasn’t long before John Simpson’s American directorial debut was removed from the theatrical schedule altogether and then later dropped on DVD that following year. Although going from the big-screen to direct-to-video is an undeserved fate in some cases, this movie’s new destination was understandable. The unfavorable feedback from an early test screening — the word “disastrous” was tossed around — forced Warner Bros to salvage the potential flop now on its hands. Nevertheless, the negative consensus hasn’t stopped Amusement from amassing a small fan base over the years; its followers focus on this panned movie’s few merits rather than its many shortcomings.
At first, Amusement looks to be an anthology; this horror movie’s first three acts are well defined and almost function as standalone short features.

Thanks to the Netflix series Stranger Things, I have been a fan of Joe Keery for over seven years already, and thanks to the Prime Video streaming series Daisy Jones & The Six – which drew inspiration from the story of Fleetwood Mac – I recently became a fan of Camila Morrone. So it’s fun to see Keery and Morrone together in the upcoming crime thriller Marmalade, which is set to reach theatres and VOD on February 9th. With a month to go before that date arrives, a trailer for Marmalade has been released online and can be seen in the embed above.

"It's me and you against the whole wide world." Brainstorm Media along with Signature Ent. have revealed an official trailer for an indie thriller titled Marmalade, marking the feature directorial debut of actor Keir O'Donnell. It's set for a small theatrical + VOD launch in early February coming up in just a few weeks. The "edge-of-the-seat crime-tinged romance tale" film follows a man in prison who narrates the colorful tale of a romantic bank heist to his cunning cellmate, in order to plot an escape and reunite with the alluring love of his life. His cellmate Otis is a man with a well-versed history of prison breaks, and two try to help reunite Baron with her. Joe Keery stars as Baron, with Aldis Hodge as Otis, and Camila Morrone as Keery's lover Marmalade. This was filmed in & around Minnesota, including in Stillwater. This just makes me want to watch The Shawshank Redemption all over again.

The countdown for Joe Keery and Camila Morrone’s upcoming romance heist movie Marmalade has begun. The makers have unveiled a new set of images to give fans a peek into this grizzly, gritty world of the two toxic lovers. The film also marks the directorial debut of actor/screenwriter Keir O’Donnell whose vision is quite intriguing, going by the images. The images paint a picture of a colorful, rose-tinted world of the two lovers as we see them smitten with each other, one image sees them romancing in a car, and another sees them praying together. However, their conundrums surface in images that showcase the characters individually, in one image Keery looks simply lost and vulnerable while another sees him with Aldis Hodge in the prison. With all these intense moments, it’ll be fascinating to see the story unfold on the big screen.

Among the most underrated romantic comedies ever made is Comet (2014), starring Emmy Rossum and Justin Long. Those performers got their start around the same time as one another, with Long debuting in Galaxy Quest (1999) and Rossum in Songcatcher (2000) at the turn of the century. The former film is far more famous. But Songcatcher saw great success upon release, as well. In the following year, Long starred in a horror stint called Jeepers Creepers (2001), and it was off to superstardom from there.
Meanwhile, Rossum appeared in Mystic River (2003) by Clint Eastwood, then traversed a similar trajectory. She followed up with another supporting role in The Day After Tomorrow (2004), along with the first co-starring role of her career in The Phantom of the Opera (2004). But more recent fans of Rossum's may be familiar with her versatile career thanks to her leading role as Fiona Gallagher in the hit television series Shameless. She's...

Steve Harrington really turned it around on Stranger Things, starting off as a typical bully who served as an antagonist to the more sympathetic Jonathan Byers. As seasons went on, he – and his portrayer, Joe Keery – became a fan favorite, proving a vital member of the Hawkins gang and one heck of an ice cream scooper. And as Stranger Things approaches (albeit slowly due to the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes), surely Steve Harrington and Joe Keery will be missed. In the meantime, Keery is prepping for the conclusion.
Speaking with Women’s Wear Daily, Joe Keery admitted that Stranger Things’ series finale is inevitable but will be a difficult sendoff for him. “It does feel like it’s time. It won’t be easy for it to end. I mean, I owe my whole career to being on that show and all the opportunities that I had...

A former bank robber praises Ambulance for accurately portraying the adaptive nature of robbers when interacting with bank employees and police officers. The movie accurately portrays the possibility of problems arising during a bank robbery, such as the getaway car not working properly. Ambulance accurately depicts the presence of undercover police officers outside the bank, as well as their strategic tactics in monitoring and apprehending criminals.
A former bank robber is praising Michael Bay’s heist action movie Ambulance as being “pretty accurate.” Released in 2022, the film follows adoptive brothers Danny (Jake Gyllenhaal) and Will (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II), who hijack an ambulance in order to escape a robbery gone wrong. Despite a disappointing box office performance, the movie garnered positive reactions, and many audiences praised its action sequences, including what happened inside the bank. In addition to Gyllenhaal and Abdul-Mateen, Ambulance stars Eiza González, Garret Dillahunt, Keir O’Donnell, and Jackson White.

"So that's a sad bummer for all of us."
She thanked the crew, writers, actors and fans. "You can't win 'em all," she added.
Ben Stiller, who served as an executive producer on the series, also addressed the cancellation.
"We are all disappointed," he wrote.
