Biography

    • Gustavo Fontán was born in Bánfield, in south province of Buenos Aires, on December 24, 1960. He is a Bachelor in Literature, graduated in the Faculty of Arts of the University of Buenos Aires, and he studied Film Direction in the Center for Experimentation and Film Direction. He directed the shorts 'Luz De Otoño' (1992) and 'Canto Del Cisne' (1994) and the full-length videos, 'Ritos De Paso' (1997) and 'Marechal O La Batalla De Los Angeles' (2000).

      These last three titles, and not by chance, have such poets and writers as Jacobo Fijman, Macedocio Fernández and Leopoldo Marechal as its main subject matter. Gustavo Fontán has also published two poetry books and two collections of short stories, and he has also staged four theatre plays.
