The American actor became an A-list star off the back of prominent romantic comedies from the late 1990s, including My Best Friend's Wedding (in which she played Julia Roberts' romantic rival) and There's Something About Mary (in which she played the title role opposite Ben Stiller). She has also taken on major projects in other genres, including starring in 2000's Charlie's Angels and its 2003 sequel Full Throttle, as well as voicing Princess Fiona in DreamWorks' animated Shrek franchise.

Exclusive: Fola Evans-Akingbola, Ward Horton and Albert Jones are being promoted to series regulars for the upcoming third season of Netflix’s The Night Agent, Deadline can reveal.

On the action thriller series based on Matthew Quirk’s novel, Evans-Akingbola plays secret service agent Chelsea Arrington, with Horton as Governor Richard Hagan, and Jones as Deputy Director Aiden Mosely.

Shawn Ryan, the show’s creator, showrunner and executive producer, confirmed Evans-Akingbola’s Season 3 return in a recent interview with Deadline. A fan favorite, she returns to the series regular status she held in Season 1 after only making a cameo in the second season. Gordon — who’s most known as the director behind hit comedies such as Four Christmases (2008), Horrible Bosses (2011) and Identity Thief (2013) — hasn’t made a feature film since 2017’s Baywatch, and while his four films have averaged a box office gross of nearly $183 million each, his absence coincides with the comedy genre’s steady decline at the box office and widespread disappearance from major studio development slates. Gordon doesn’t have the definitive answer for why comedy is no longer the dominant force it once was at multiplexes, but he speculates that it could be a result of the hectic political climate that’s been in effect since 2017.

The pair were enjoying family life — they have a teenage daughter, Alice (McKenna Roberts), and compounding the crisis is the soon-to-be husband and wife duo who are expecting another child.

The overdone premise of characters returning to a life they no longer want (insert Godfather III quote here) is likely a big reason for the unfavorable 23% “Tomatometer” score. "Mostly, the familiarity takes its toll," The New York Times' Ben Kenigsberg wrote.

There's good news for Ridley Scott fans today. Gladiator II is now streaming on Paramount+, just two months after its theatrical release.

Back in Action marks Cameron Diaz's long-awaited return to acting and a reunion with co-star Jamie Foxx. Though Cameron and Foxx play a couple in the Netflix action comedy, director Seth Gordon insists their chemistry off-screen was "inspiring" enough to make their on-screen work believable.

Speaking with People, Gordon hailed Foxx and Diaz's close friendship and how their understanding of each other made them an ideal pairing for the recently released Back in Action. According to Gordon, the duo were equally supportive throughout filming, including following Foxx's medical emergency during production.
