NBC's upcoming The Office reboot, titled The Paper, is slowly rounding out its cast. Domnhall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore will lead the new series. It has already been confirmed that Oscar Nunez will reprise his role as Oscar from The Office in the new reboot. Oscar is the only original actor confirmed to appear in the reboot, so far. The new series will follow a failing Midwestern newspaper company that tries to save itself by hiring new volunteer reporters. But one of those volunteers could be a Cornell University graduate, as Ed Helms is the latest The Office star to address the new reboot.
Ed Helms recently appeared on The View (via TV Insider), and was asked whether Andy "The Nard Dog" Bernard would be back in The Paper. Helms began by saying that he was currently unaware of Andy returning for the upcoming series. "I have zero intel on that,...

Will the ‘Nard Dog rise again in The Officesequel series The Paper? Ed Helms isn’t quite certain one way or the other, but he remains hopeful. While swinging by The View, the actor faced questions about his potential return to the Greg Daniels-developed universe that once gave us the many different and entertaining personalities in the NBC hit series. “I have zero intel on that, I’m sorry to say,” Helms told the hosts of the daytime series.
“And I also don’t know yet if Andy will be making an appearance. I haven’t heard. No one’s called.”
Manifesting the energetic, harmony-creating character’s return, Helms said that he “hopes” the creative team will find some space for Andy, adding, “I’m just gonna float that energy out there right now.” Whether or not he makes an appearance in The Paper, Helms remains certain that the...

Ed Helms starred as Andy Bernard on The Office for seven seasons before the show came to an end in 2009. But will his character be making a return in the follow-up series, The Paper, which began production last year? “I have zero intel on that, I’m sorry to say,” Helms said on the Tuesday, April 29, episode of The View. “And I also don’t know yet if Andy will be making an appearance. I haven’t heard. No one’s called.” However, he said he “hopes” to bring his character back, if possible. “I’m just gonna float that energy out there right now,” the actor added. “Greg Daniels is making this show. It’s gonna be great. It’s gonna be incredible.” So far, the only cast member from The Office who’s confirmed for The Paper is Oscar Nuñez, who will be reprising his role as Oscar Martinez.

It’s been 12 years since The Office ended, yet here we are, still quoting Michael Scott at inappropriate moments, debating whether Jim was a good guy, and still feeling secondhand embarrassment from Scott’s Tots. Some shows fade into the background, but this one? It’s forever stapled (probably into Jell-o) in our hearts.
Where else could you find a boss who accidentally declares bankruptcy out loud, a beet farmer enforcing office martial law, and a receptionist who somehow puts up with all of it? From Kevin’s tragic chili spill to the utter enigma that was Creed, The Office was a chaotic masterpiece. And let’s be real, no actual workplace has ever lived up to the madness of Dunder Mifflin.

So, what do we miss most? The pranks? The cringe? The world’s most awkward romance? All of the above.

Live with Kelly and Mark did not live up to its name recently when fans tuned in at the beginning of a new week, only to be met with a “prerecorded” disclaimer at the bottom of the screen.
While Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos typically prerecord most end-of-the-week episodes to take extended weekend breaks, things were different this time.
Kelly and Mark jet off to Palm Springs during these weekend breaks or travel to Michigan to see their son, Joaquin Consuelos, at the University of Michigan.
As Monsters and Critics reported, even their trips to Michigan may end since Kelly and Mark’s son is graduating soon.
Kelly and Mark took extra time off and prerecorded their show, not because of Palm Springs or Michigan, but because of another frequent stop for the jet-setting couple.
Kelly shared on her Instagram account that she and Mark took a work trip to their beloved Italy,...

“The Four Seasons” may be about three couples who make up a close-knit friend group but at its core, it’s a show about chosen families. That remains true for the superstar cast as well, who discussed growing into a family themselves at the Netflix premiere on Thursday night in Los Angeles.
“From Day 1 — you hear it a lot, but it’s actually true this time — we definitely loved each other from the get-go,” Steve Carell told TheWrap. “It was a great, great experience. It’s true, very special.”
Carell stars alongside Tina Fey, Will Forte, Marco Calvani, Kerri Kenney-Silver and Colman Domingo (who was not present for the DGA red carpet and two-episode screening).

Modern comedy legends turned out for the premiere of Netflix’s new miniseries The Four Seasons on Thursday night in Hollywood.
Co-created by Tina Fey, the show follows a group of longtime friends and middle-class couples as they vacation together at different times of the year. Adapting the 1981 Alan Alda rom-com of the same name gave Fey the opportunity to curate a cast full of comedy heavyweights, as well as new and old film legends. The show's stars bonded fast, according to Kerri Kenney-Silver, who plays hesitant housewife Anne.
"We had a crew member say to us on the second day, 'Tell me about where you guys rehearsed or where you've worked together before,' and I was like, 'I've never met any of these people ever before in my life," she told Gold Derby on the carpet. "Some of the group had not met before. It’s all in the writing.

It’s the Inverse Law of Entertainment: All musicians want to be comedians, and all comedians want to be musicians. Most comics aren’t blessed with musical talent, but some still get a taste by appearing in the videos of their favorite artists. Saturday Night Live cast members, probably thanks to their musical heroes guesting on the show, get more chances than most.
Here are eight times that SNL comedians randomly pop up in music videos by iconic artists…

The Beastie Boys’ “Make Some Noise” video is full of comedy cameos, including Seth Rogen, Jack Black, Rashida Jones, Will Arnett, Rainn Wilson, Jason Schwartzman, Mary Steenburgen, Ted Danson and David Cross. SNL is well represented as well with Ferrell as the future Ad-Rock, Rudolph as a lady hitting on Danny McBride and Poehler as a sneering bistro patron.

1988’s The Naked Gun is making a comeback, but will it capture the same magic as the original? Most comedies now feel the need to sneak in a life lesson, and silliness, wordplay, or casual gags have largely been pushed aside. The Naked Gun, however, worked because it didn’t particularly care too much about those things. It just wanted to be funny.
With Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson stepping into the franchise as fresh faces, the 2025 Naked Gun reboot is officially set to hit theaters on August 1, 2025. Originally scheduled for July 18, 2025, the release date was shifted by a couple of weeks, likely to accommodate studio scheduling conflicts, including the rescheduling of Vicious, another Paramount project. Here’s everything we know so far about the new Naked Gun.

If you were to compile a list of the best parody movies ever made, you would be hard pressed to find one that doesn't include "The Naked Gun" on it. The hilarious riff on procedural cop shows initially started out as "Police Squad!," a hilarious six-episode television comedy series from David Zucker, Jim Abrahams and Jerry Zucker whose only crime was being ahead of its time. Although the triage had no such luck making it play to audiences on the small screen, the short-lived series proved to be incredibly successful in movie theaters in the form of 1988's "The Naked Gun," which brought back Leslie Nielsen to reprise his role as the bumbling Detective Lt. Frank Drebin.
The David Zucker-directed film not only jumpstarted Nielsen's comedy career after his memorable role in "Airplane!," but it also led to two sequels: "The Naked Gun 2 ½: The Smell of Fear...

It looks like The View has quietly slipped into a short hiatus, and as usual, fans are buzzing with questions. Whispers about the future of key co-hosts—including the ever-iconic Whoopi Goldberg—are growing louder, especially as contract renewal details remain under wraps.
But while the cameras may be off for now, the fans aren’t exactly left in the dark. Dedicated viewers have figured out how to stay a step ahead, even scoring chances to see their favorite personalities live.
What’s Happening Behind the Scenes?
Whoopi Goldberg, once known primarily for her award-winning acting and stand-up career, has worn the hat of co-host on The View since 2007. Over the years, both she and fellow co-host Joy Behar have occasionally stepped back from filming.
That’s not particularly unusual—they’re both on a flexible four-day work week. But fans did notice something rare recently: Goldberg taped an episode on a Friday,...

Overall, creator and writer Michael Schur really does know how to bring some wonderful comedy shows to life. He's known for multiple comedies including writing on The Office, as well as starring in some episodes as Dwight's cousin Mose; co-creating shows hits like Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Parks and Recreation; and also most recently creating A Man on the Inside which has been renewed for a second season at Netflix. And we think that one is a watch!
And while he has all these great shows as a part of his roster, there's some that might not hit well with everyone. And there's a couple that may not be worth your time. Here's 2 Michael Schur shows to watch and 2 to skip if you're looking for some recommednations.

Filming has begun in Edmonton on Smudge the Blades, a sports dramedy from writer-director Cody Lightning. The feature centers on the Treaty 6 Blades, an under-18 Indigenous hockey team facing their last season in a rough northern Alberta league.
New additions to the cast include Ed Helms (The Hangover), Paulina Alexis (Reservation Dogs), and Jana Schmieding (Rutherford Falls). Lightning stars as Willie Gladue, a Zamboni driver who finds himself behind the bench as the team’s unexpected coach. Schmieding plays a hockey mom who becomes his love interest.

Only one man has the particular set of skills to lead the new The Naked Gun movie. Liam Neeson succeeds Leslie Nielsen as Lt. Frank Drebin in the first trailer for the hotly-anticipated action comedy reboot.
The official teaser trailer for the new The Naked Gun begins with Drebin foiling a bank robbery after sneaking into the building disguised as a schoolgirl licking a lollypop. After taking care of the robbers, one of the hostages asks who he is, with Neeson's character responding, "Frank Drebin, Police Squad." He then breaks the fourth wall by looking directly at the camera and uttering, "The new version." The teaser then confirms that it will actually be a legacy sequel to the original film trilogy, with Neeson and Paul Walter Hauser playing the similarly named sons of Nielsen's Frank Drebin and George Kennedy's Captain Ed Hocken, respectively. An official trailer for “The Naked Gun” reboot is here, and brings with it a special set of skills: absurdist comedy, glossy action aesthetics, Liam Neeson in polkadot briefs and a school girl uniform and, naturally, an O.J. Simpson joke.
Neeson stars as Frank Drebin Jr., the son of legendary goofball cop and franchise father Leslie Nielsen. In a brief clip shared online and at CinemaCon, the annual convention of movie theater owners, Neeson brings Nielsen’s brand of crimefighting to a new generation of audiences.
In the midst of a tense heist where police officers are attempting to seize bank robbers, we see a little girl with an oversized lollipop casually walk through the standoff.
“What do you want, little one?” asks a bad guy toting a machine gun. “Your ass,” says the child, before ripping off a face mask to reveal Neeson. The lollipop stick becomes a deadly...

While the movie business has experienced a concerning degree of commercial and critical turbulence over the first three months of 2025, television has stepped up to provide entertainment seekers an impressive array of captivating new series, as well as stellar new seasons from returning shows. "Severance" just stuck the landing at the end of its celebrated second season, "The White Lotus" is back doing its darkly comedic thing with possibly its strongest cast to date, and "The Studio" is a brilliantly brutal Hollywood satire that takes no prisoners in showing viewers how the showbiz sausage is made.

On April 28, 2011, Michael Scott left Scranton, Pa for the Colorado Rockies, Steve Carell left "The Office," and the world was never the same. The move came seven seasons into the show, and it left the popular NBC sitcom at a crossroads. Who should take the dynamic regional manager's place? Who was worthy? In the end, the answer, of course, was Andy Bernard, but it turns out that Ed Helms' character wasn't a shoo-in for the job. On the contrary, many of the show's creators thought Dwight Schrute should have gotten the nod.

Many actors from "The Office" are known for playing beloved characters like Pam (Jenna Fischer), Dwight (Rainn Wilson), Michael (Steve Carell), and Jim (John Krasinski). Others are associated with, well, let's say, less attractive fictional individuals. Zach Woods, unfortunately, falls into the latter category. Woods portrayed Gabe Lewis for several of the later seasons of the Scranton-based super-sitcom, and his character managed to go from bad to worse as time went by. After an awkwardly dominant start, Gabe devolved into a running joke (both with real-life audiences and with his Dunder Mifflin co-workers) as the lanky sad sack's story waffled between his foibles as an ineffective leader and his uncomfortably tragic non-starter of a personal life.
"The Office" wrapped up shop in 2013, and since then, several actors have talked about their time on the show or, in Carell's case, why they left the cherished NBC sitcom when they did. On...

The Officeintroduced audiences to the "World's Greatest Boss," Michael Scott (played by Steve Carell). But, when the actor left after Season 7, Dunder Mifflin had to find a new regional manager. Ricky Gervais, who co-created the British original series and played its version of Scott, named David Brent, was one actor rumored to take over from Scott. During a recent interview to celebrate The Office's 20th anniversary (feel old yet?), Gervais addressed his potential casting in the US version of the show and put a long-running rumor to rest.
Speaking to The Independent, Ricky Gervais was asked about the rumors surrounding his "failed" audition for The Office to replace Steve Carell. The comedian and actor confirmed that he was in talks to reprize his role as David Brent in the US version. However, press outlets and fans took those initial conversations and the end result wildly out of context. "When...

Back when New Girl first aired in 2011, we as audiences were introduced to Zooey Deschanel’s eccentric teacher Jessica Day, who moved into an apartment loft with three single men, following her bad breakup.
And in the aftermath of her relocation, it was the unexpected events and the roommates/dysfunctional family dynamics that turned the sitcom into a major hit.

So now, after almost a decade, as former co-stars, Zooey Deschanel and Max Greenfield had a mini-reunion at this year’s SAG Awards, it became a major nostalgic moment for the New Girl fans. Not to mention, back in 2024, Jake Johnson, Greenfield, and Lamorne Morris had even admitted to being open to the idea of coming back.
But sadly, as the revival is yet to happen, let’s take a look at the main cast of New Girl, and what...

Apart from the big screen, Hollywood stars have several personal stories that are equally entertaining, if not more. In this, Seth Rogen’s funny international escapade would definitely be in the top three. The actor, known for his comedic roles, could have truly inspired the fourth installment of The Hangover. While in the movies the cast woke up to tigers and missing teeth, Rogen actually ended up in an entirely different country.

No one expected one of the most iconic The Office episodes from Season 3, Beach Games, to turn into ‘Survivor: Hot Dog Edition’. But what was supposed to be Michael Scott’s chaotic competition for choosing his next Branch Manager, turned into a nauseating behind-the-scenes experience for Ed Helms.

While fans laughed at Andy’s unfortunate floatie fiasco and Dwight’s intensity, Ed Helms claimed to be facing a different nightmare. Picture this: a bucket filled with chewed-up hot dogs. And now, we can’t decide what’s worse—losing the manager race or surviving that puke-inducing experience.

Prime Video's hit Reacher is in the middle of its third season. As with the previous seasons, the new outing brings a host of new main characters. One of these is rug importer Zachary Beck, who offers Reacher a job after he saves Beck's son Richard. Beck is played by Anthony Michael Hall, who's enjoyed a nearly 40-year career in the industry.
That's right, Gen-x readers, the 1980s were four decades ago. Take a minute to process that if you need to. Hall was one of that decade's biggest teen stars, with appearances in Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, and Weird Science. He was a frequent collaborator with John Hughes, the king of '80s coming-of-age teen comedies. That partnership set Hall up for lifelong success, which is still an impressive feat in today's industry. Of those early parts, Sixteen Candles really gave Hall his breakout role. He followed that...

Demi Moore has been making a comeback of the ages, with her performance in the body horror hit, The Substance, earning her multiple awards, including a Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Actress. But The Substance isn't the only recent body horror film she has starred in. In 2019, she appeared in another thriller, Corporate Animals, and it's currently available on horror streamer, Shudder.
The movie follows an abusive, egomaniac CEO named Lucy (Moore) as she leads employees from her company, Incredible Edibles, on a team-building exercise to try and save the business. The co-workers go spelunking in New Mexico, with Lucy deciding they need to on a much more advanced route, against the better judgment of the guide, Brandon (Ed Helms). Yeppers, it's true! The Office reboot just confirmed its first returning star, and the excitement for the in-the-works continuation series has officially increased. Well, our first Dunder Mifflin alum has boarded the reboot to reprise his character: Oscar Nuñez will bring back his character Oscar Martinez. Variety notes that Oscar will not be a central character in the new series set in the same universe as all our favorite characters. Additionally, he's been part of the pilot script from the beginning and will be in the mix with the other new characters.

Oscar Nuñez will return as Oscar Martinez in Peacock’s follow-up series to “The Office,” Variety has confirmed.
Sources say Nuñez will not be the central character in the upcoming mockumentary sitcom — which takes place in the same universe as “The Office” — as it is an ensemble series. But he is part of the show’s character mix, and has been in the opening script from the beginning.
There are no further details regarding Oscar’s role or storyline in the new show, which Greg Daniels is creating and executive producing with Michael Korman (“Nathan For You”).
As of now, Nuñez is believed to be the only “Office” cast member who will appear in the follow-up series (right now still referred to as the “Untitled Daniels/Korman Project”) — but it has been noted that since it lives in the world of “The Office,” there was always a chance that characters...

“Maria” cinematographer Ed Lachman has won the top feature-film award at the American Society of Cinematographers’ ASC Awards, which took place on Sunday evening in Los Angeles.
The film, which charts the final week of opera diva Maria Callas’ life, is one of the five nominees in the Oscars Best Cinematography category and won over fellow Oscar nominees “The Brutalist,” “Conclave,” “Nosferatu” and “Wicked,” as well as “Dune: Part Two” and “A Complete Unknown.”
In the 38 years that the ASC has been giving out an award for feature-film cinematography, its winner has gone on to win the Oscar for Best Cinematography a little less than half the time, with the two voting bodies agreeing 18 times and disagreeing 20 times. Recently, though, the ASC and Oscars have gone to the same film more often, with four matches in the last five years.

To make matters worse, all this corruption and illegal activity has caught the attention of DEA agent Susan Duffy (Sonya Cassidy), who, following a botched undercover operation, sends in our boy Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) to keep tabs on what's happening. After Reacher poses as potential muscle for the businessman, Beck's world soon gets turned upside down as traitorous activity begins to reveal itself, deals go south, and the bad guys closest to him end up very, very dead.

Many find it hard to believe that the 2020s are halfway over. Within the decade, audiences have witnessed many surprise hits in the theaters, including but not limited to a Top Gun legacy sequel and one of the best Godzilla movies ever made. Even though the 2020s have been heavily reliant on blockbusters, other periods within the 21st century have shown their fair share of surprisingly crowd-pleasing films.
From the 2000s onward, there has been an array of theatrically released movies that caught audiences off-guard with how high-quality and entertaining they were. Viewers initially had little to no expectations for these movie releases, yet strong word-of-mouth persuaded them to see what everyone was raving about. As a result, these modern movies, from legacy sequels to downright fun action and comedy films, are now considered masterpieces in their respective genres.

Sitcoms have the most memorable characters on television. Beloved, iconic, and hilarious personalities are the emotional core of the best comedy shows. This is why the members of the Friends group are as recognizable today as they were back in the day. Writers sometimes run out of ideas and make one character the butt of all the jokes, which can be irritating. Other times, they take the character's personality to the extreme, and it just doesn't click with the audience.
