Daniel Flynn(XIX)
- Actor
- Art Director
- Costume and Wardrobe Department
Danny Flynn grew up in a bohemian artists environment and became an American drifter in the tradition of Jack Keruoak at a young age. His well-traveled take on America is his trademark. Finding solace in writing screenplays, lyrics, and social commentary while on the road, he always found himself pulled into various film productions along the way, and tumbled through Hollywood occasionally since he was a kid. Born in Los Angeles to an acting family, he's been singing and performing in small productions for many years. His own creative work is varied and features all-formats in writing, illustration, world-creation and character design. A dedicated artist and craftsman, his first love has always been for dramatization in one form or another, and he's a self-taught costume historian, tailor, as well as maintaining proficiency as an Astrologer and Tarot card reader. Styled as a modern Irish Gypsy, the novelty of Danny's performances has allowed him to travel freely and attend America's music festivals and craft fairs, and to devote himself to the art of writing.
The grandson of actor Earl Eby, Danny grew up listening to the tales of old Hollywood around the piano, and his earliest memories are of meeting celebrities at family funerals such as Carol Burnett and Danny Thomas, and getting personal advice from relatives such as Larry Swindell, the noted biographer of many golden age movie stars. While Danny wanted to perform from a young age, he was forbidden to do so by his paternal grandparents who held reserve from an industry they saw as unstable for a young boy, yet Danny's flair for the dramatic has always brought him back into the arena of stagecraft. Having amassed a collection of screenplays and novels, and perfected various practical techniques in multiple crafts, this actor's offerings seem to flesh themselves out into multiple areas of visual media and theatrical production.

Trivia:
- Clint Carey, the first UV reactive painter dating back to the 1950's, was a friend of the family and once painted Errol Flynn's portrait for the actor. Often called "The Spaceman of Ocean Beach", this strange artist had a UFO cult devoted to his detailed account of being abducted and taken to other worlds. Danny had several of Clint's paintings hanging above his crib as a baby.
- He once won first place in a costume contest depicting Elvira, Mistress of the Dark's long-lost brother Elwin. A character mentioned cursorily in the Elvira universe.
- Is an ardent fan of icons of a brooding nature. "My heroes are all those with darker shadows in and around them - Bela Lugosi, Rasputin, Lon Cheney, Michael Shannon, Christopher lee, and Marlon Brando, to name a few."
- Once met Carol Burnett at a family funeral, and turned beet red when his younger brother reached up and tugged the comedy icon's skirt, proclaiming loudly "Hi Carol Burnett!"
- Considers himself "As old-fashioned as it gets." Quoted as saying "If two men have a beef, they should simply face off and duke it out, safely of course - this is human nature, resolves life's petty concerns quickly, and most often makes friends out of enemies. Lighten up and get over yourself."
- Considers himself an 'Irish Gypsy' or a 'Tinker' as they are traditionally referred to - ancient wayward travelers of The Green Isle who would perform various tasks and shamanic functions in exchange for food and shelter. Danny subscribes to a Celtic Pagan identification, while being a scholar of comparative religion and esotericism.
- Writes predominantly in Historical & Gothic Fantasy genres, yet holds comedy as the ultimate challenge, and prides himself on literary range.
- Is an avid book collector and small-press supporter.
- Is reputed to be one of the sundry and various Hollywood offspring of Errol Flynn. "An open family secret". Danny's father, Earl Errol Eby was named after both Hollywood actors who provided paternal inspiration to Danny's grandfather as a youth in 1950's Los Angeles.
- Danny used to party incessantly, abusing drugs and alcohol for years before discovering yoga, meditation, exercise, and nutrition. "There are highs you can get from clean living you can't get from controlled substances - they are better, often more potent, and have no negative side effects. That's a scientific fact. However, the modern resurgence in psychedelic research is delicious."
