In space Moby Dick can hear you scream…
White Space introduces us to the idea of the titular “white space” and that is, areas of space that somehow have remarkable healing properties that they can imbue on anyone who passed into them (for some reason). The only problem is there are space leviathans that protect them (for some reason). Our opening scene takes us 20 something years into the past for us to see a boy lose his dad to the space monsters. So, revenge it is then.
We have Moby Dick in space, revenge for revenge’s sake as it were.

As the owner and visual effects supervisor at Filmworks, FX, Inc., Ken Locsmandi has worked on films by major directors like David Fincher, David O. Russell and the Wachowskis. In the last couple of years, he has expanded his company’s scope, producing his own films in an attempt to put his expertise and resources to use on independent work that can stand alongside studio productions costing literally hundreds of times what he has to spend. When I saw Locsmandi’s directorial debut, Beyond White Space, as it traveled around the film festival circuit this year, I was stunned by its level […]...

A Giant Alien Space Creature is Being Hunted Down in This Trailer For Sci-Fi Film Beyond White Space
I’ve got a trailer here for a cool-looking sci-fi film called Beyond White Space that follows a man hunting down a giant alien space creature and he’s looking for revenge.
It almost feels like a Moby Dick type story only it’s set in deep space. As the obsession to capture the giant creature grows, they find themselves traveling deeper and deeper into the dangerous unknown regions of space.
Here’s the story description:
2150 A.D. The Essex, a deep space fishing vessel for industry giant, AmberCorp, is ready to make its final harvest of the season. The ship brushes with a rare creature, mammoth in size and highly territorial. Could this be the same leviathan that killed Richard and Owen's father? To make matters worse, a vicious band of scavengers intercept the transmission and infiltrate the Essex, leaving them with nothing. With no cargo and few supplies,...

Who knew there were so many attractive people barreling through the far reaches of the galaxy? I guess all you need to get laid in space is a badass intergalactic cruiser and the desire to explore the universe. Visual effects wizard/director Ken Locsmandi who, along with writers Clay McLeod Chapman and Ryan Colucci, are preparing to unleash their sci-fi actioner “White Space” upon the masses, a motion picture that deals with such hot button issues as mutiny, space pirates, and otherworldly creatures. That sounds freaking awesome. I believe that a thorough plot synopsis is in order: 2150 A.D. The Essex, a deep space fishing vessel for industry giant AmberCorp is ready to make its final harvest of the season. When they are robbed by a gang of space pirates, the Captain makes a daring decision to go after a rare and nearly extinct creature. On the hunt, the ship...

In continuing with our historic support of independent filmmaking, Dread hit the set of director John Michael Elfers' Kiss before the Slaughter earlier this month in the deserts of southern California, and now thusly delivers to you an extensive gallery from the shoot, as well as word on the status of the gritty and subversive Fire Trial Films’ project. Read on!
Elfers, whose previous feature horror flick Finale racked up globally a plethora of festival awards before acquiring DVD and VOD distribution (via Image Entertainment) has joined forces once again with that film’s co-conspirators Michael Elkin (who produces) and R. Stevens Harris (behind the camera), as well as new allies Denesa Chan (actress and producer) and director of photography Mario Contini, in order to deliver his ambitious vision.

Stranger Comics has yet to release a single issue, but the upstart company already has an adaptation of The Untamed is already in the works. Written by Sebastian A. Jones, The Untamed follows “a man who makes a deal with the devil to be released from hell for seven days to reap vengeance on the seven souls who murdered him and his family.” Gotta admit, that’s pretty badass.
Jones will pen the adaptation himself, with Eureka co-creator Andrew Cosby making his directorial debut. Lloyd Levin is one of the producers on the film — with credits for both Hellboys and Watchmen, he certainly has the resume for the project. Hit the jump for the official press release.

Producer Lloyd Levin will be bringing the live-action version of The Untamed, a dark fantasy revenge tale published by Stranger Comics.
The Untamed tells the story of a man who is released from Hell and given seven days to reap the seven souls that murdered him and his family (sounds kinda familiar). The tale is written by Sebastian Jones, who also penned the screenplay. Boom! Studios co-founder Andrew Cosby ( creator of Syfy's Eureka ) is attached to make his directorial debut.
Levin said this about the badass main character:
"He's killed a lot of people himself, but he not only gets the chance to unravel the mystery of who killed his family and get revenge, but there is a story of redemption here as well."
Ken Locsmandi, the VFX supervisor of such films like The Matrix and Fight Club, is also on board.
I kind of think this is will be...
