Sarah Silverman is a comedian whose career has taken her far beyond a stand-up mic. She’s worked in TV and movies and even wrote a bestselling memoir that was adapted into a musical. But her success hasn’t come without sacrifice. As Silverman once admitted, she had to choose which she wanted more: her career or kids.

Sarah Silverman is taking dating to a new level. During a May 11 appearance on The View, the 51-year-old comedian confessed to an unconventional dental practice, revealing that she and boyfriend Rory Albanese have "never not used the same toothbrush." "Now everyone's saying, 'That so gross,'" she said. "Let me ask you something. Why is that so gross? We kiss each other where we pee!" As the shocked audience laughed and clapped, co-host Joy Behar, yelled, "Not everyone does that either!" After looking both confused and disgusted, co-host Whoopi Goldberg shared her thoughts on Silverman's comments. "Do what you wanna...

Sarah Silverman is standing by her decision to share a toothbrush with her boyfriend. And her logic just about broke the hosts of “The View” on Wednesday.
Stopping by to promote her newest show, Silverman was eventually asked about the fact that she and Rory Albanese share a toothbrush, with Hostin noting she is “befuddled” by the concept. The comedian stipulated that she had never shared a toothbrush with anyone in the past, but with this man, they have “never not shared a toothbrush.”
Silverman added that Hostin is not the first to ask about the ick factor of it, but then posed a counterargument.
“Why is that so gross? We kiss each other where we pee!” Silverman argued.
At that, the entire table just about lost it. Hostin took a moment to seriously consider Silverman’s words, while Joy pointed out that really, “not everyone does that either,” and Sara Haines simply cracked up.

If you didn’t already know Rory Albanese as a comedian, perhaps you now know him as Sarah Silverman’s new man. If you’re not familiar with Sarah Silverman, yes you are; she dated Jimmy Kimmel forever and ever, and then they broke up, but she maintained her fame and continued to grow her comedy sketches – and she is wildly famous. Either way, now you are familiar with both, and it’s time for you to learn more about the new man in Silverman’s life. ABC has renamed Good Morning America’s third-hour show, “Strahan & Sara,” to “GMA3: Strahan, Sara & Keke,” the show’s hosts announced on Monday.
This is the third name change for the show, which first premiered last September as “Gma Day” as a replacement to “The Chew,” which was cancelled last year over sexual misconduct allegations against one of its hosts, Mario Batali, and a number of other problems. In January, “Gma Day” — hosted by Michael Strahan and Sara Haines –was rebranded as “Strahan & Sara.” And now, with this third new name, the actress Keke Palmer joins the hourlong daytime show as a co-host alongside Strahan and Haines.
Palmer had been hosting the show with Strahan over the summer as Haines was out on maternity leave, and the new name officially incorporates her into the show’s branding.

ABC’s not-so-new hour of “Good Morning America” is getting another name – and a third host.
The network said the early-afternoon program called “Strahan & Sara” would now be titled “GMA3: Strahan, Sara & Keke,” and feature a third host, Keke Palmer, in addition to the original team of Michael Strahan and Sara Haines. The program, initially conceived as a means of extending the network’s flagship “Good Morning America” into other time periods, and bringing affiliates and advertisers along for the ride, has been through several changes since its launch in September of last year.
Palmer, a singer and actress known for her time on Fox’s “Scream Queens,” has been filling in for Haines while she was on maternity leave. ““It’s been a blast having Keke co-host this summer. She brings a unique and spontaneous energy viewers love,” said Rory Albanese, the program’s executive producer, in a statement.

ABC hopes to shed new light on “Gma Day.”
The afternoon extension of the network’s “Good Morning America” is getting a new name and look, according to a person familiar with the matter. Audience members present at Monday morning’s taping of the program will notice a new set and logo that tamp down the emphasis on the show’s links to ABC’s morning flagship and place more significance on hosts Michael Strahan and Sara Haines.
The show has been re-titled “Strahan and Sara,” this person said. ABC News declined to make executives available for comment.
ABC News, which oversees “Gma,” launched the 1 p.m. program on the fly in September, betting that the duo could extend the network’s morning juggernaut to the afternoon, creating new opportunities for advertisers and affiliates in the process. “Good Morning America” fetched more than $350 million in ad revenue in 2017, according to Kantar Media,...

Watch Jon Stewart's funny yet touching appearance on The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore's TV series finale on Comedy Central. Wilmore only learned of his show's cancellation, early this week. After having received potent potables from Samantha Bee and Stephen Colbert, Trevor Noah sent Wilmore some (woefully non-alcoholic) pastries. John Oliver softened that blow by sending a magnum of Champagne, which Stewart tried to nick."What did I miss? What's going on?" Stewart asked. When Wilmore admitted his old boss missed a lot, Stewart added, "What are we doing, next week?" After Wilmore informed him it was the last show, Stewart cracked, "Oh my God, what did you do -- piss off Peter Thiel?" which is a reference to the demise of...

“Daily Show” host Jon Stewart may have figured out his post-retirement plans. The comedian took the stage at the Comedy Cellar in New York’s West Village for an impromptu stand-up set on Wednesday evening. Stewart ditched his traditional talk show suits for a more casual ensemble on his night out with former “Daily Show” executive producer Rory Albanese. Albanese, who now leads operations at “The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore,” posted a picture on Instagram of Stewart during his 10-minute set. Albanese captioned the picture: “The Cellar is where it all began for Jon. This was an awesome moment.

Before he destroyed, eviscerated, and owned Fox News, Jon Stewart was a stand-up comedian. Now, with only days remaining in his Daily Show tenure, Stewart returned to the stage for the first time in a decade, dropping in unannounced at the Comedy Cellar to do a ten-minute set. Intimidatingly enough, he had to follow Louis C.K., who was there doing the same thing. Stewart was urged on by former Daily Show (and current Nightly Show) producer Rory Albanese, who Instagrammed the whole thing. There's no video from the appearance yet, so it's unclear what he joked about, but we're guessing he probably stayed away from Herman Cain.

The Writers Guild of America (WGA) handed out top film honors to the screenplays of "The Grand Budapest Hotel" and "The Imitation Game" Saturday night. On the television side, "Louie" and "True Detective" were favorites, winning two prizes each. Damien Chazelle's "Whiplash" competed in the original category at the WGA Awards, while the Academy's Writers Branch, in a rare move outside of guild designation, deemed it adapted due to the fact that a scene from the feature script was the basis of a short film that screened at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. So if "The Imitation Game" is to go on to Oscar glory, it will have to compete with Chazelle's popular film for the first time this season at the Feb. 22 Academy Awards ceremony. Additionally, presumed Best Picture frontrunner "Birdman" was not eligible for WGA (making it still significant competition with "Grand Budapest" in the original category), nor was "The Theory of Everything,...

The Writers Guild of America announced the TV nominees for the 2015 WGA Awards on Thursday (December 4) morning and several new shows broke into the fields in a big way. And, of course, there were a number of big WGA Award nomination head-scratchers. Specifically, where the heck was FX's "Fargo"? The answer is below. Making perhaps the biggest splash was "Transparent," which earned three nominations and, since "Orange Is The New Black" earned two nods and "House of Cards" pick up one, that meant that Amazon Prime and Netflix are, at least for one award-giving organization, on equal footing as creators of original programming. The Jill Soloway-created "Transparent" is nominated for New Series, where it will go against "The Affair," "The Knick," "Silicon Valley" and "True Detective." Those desperate to know what he’d be up to next need wait no longer, as Wiseau has shared a clip from an upcoming sitcom he’s made called The Neighbors. Naturally, it looks awesome.

Dermot Mulroney has signed up for a story arc on Shameless as Fiona‘s latest suitor. While he’ll play a new character, TVLine describes him as basically replacing the character that was played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
Dermot Mulroney, not to be confused with the guy who was on American Horror Story.
Former Daily Show showrunner Rory Albanese — who worked on the show for 14 years — is returning to Comedy Central’s late night lineup. He’ll be in charge of the upcoming Minority Report, the show that will replace The Colbert Report. That sounds like a pretty promising sign.

With every new issue of New York Magazine, the first thing I do is turn to the back page and read the Approval Matrix to find out what's highbrow, lowbrow, brilliant, and despicable that week. Maybe you do too. And why not? It's a feature that's a decade old and that everyone loves and says nice things about all the time, which normally would be enough for most regular magazine features, but not the Approval Matrix. No, the Approval Matrix wants more — all of a sudden everything is "Do you know how much I'm worth?" and "I think I might move to Los Angeles and maybe work on a treatment." So in order to keep the Approval Matrix close to home, we are letting it do a show, for SundanceTV. The Approval Matrix, produced by Ish Entertainment's Michael Hirschorn and former Daily Show writer and executive producer Rory Albanese,...

Exclusive: I’ve learned that three veterans of The Daily Show With Jon Stewart – co-executive producers Adam Lowitt, Jennifer Flanz and Steve Bodow — are being tapped as new showrunners for Comedy Central‘s long-running late-night show. They would succeed Rory Albanese, who last week left to move to Los Angeles for primetime comedy development under a two-script deal with Warner Bros. TV. Lowitt, Flanz and Bodow, all multiple Emmy winners for their work on the show, are expected to be upped to executive producers. Lowitt has been on The Daily Show for eight years, having started in 2005 as a segment producer; Flanz has been on the program for seven years, having started as a coordinating producer in 2006; Bodow has been a writer on The Daily Show for a decade, including a stint as head writer.

Rory Albanese was hired to work for The Daily Show in 1999, only a few months after Comedy Central first brought in Jon Stewart. Earlier this week, it was announced that Albanese, now an executive producer for the show, plans to leave the show after 14 years to pursue a recent deal with Warner Bros. and to focus on a sitcom he’s developing for CBS. During last night’s “Moment of Zen,” Stewart passed on airing the usual snippet of ridiculousness from Congress (oh, wait…) or Fox News, instead opting to pay homage to Albanese....

Earlier in the week, word got out that Rory Albanese, The Daily Show's showrunner, was leaving the show he's been working at since 1999. He's moving on to a development deal with Warner Bros, with which he's already sold a sitcom to CBS about a family-owned drug store, operated by a conservative father and liberal son. Last night was his last day at The Daily Show, and like the mensch he is, Jon Stewart used the show's Moment of Zen to wish Albanese a heartfelt farewell. It's a lesson to all you aspiring showrunners: All you need to do is get a coveted Pa job and be able to shit on command.

The Daily Show said goodbye to one of it's own Thursday. Jon Stewart gave Daily Show showrunner Rory Albanese a touching sendoff at the end of the episode, chronicling Albanese's rise from production assistant to executive producer -- and showing a few embarrassing clips along the way. "I got to the show in 1999. He started probably two months after that. He was a wiseass, and I really liked him," Stewart said. "I noticed that whatever job we gave him, he kicked that job’s ass." 2013 continues to be a transition year for "The Daily Show." After a summer spent with replacement host John Oliver while Jon Stewart was away directing a film, it's been revealed that showrunner Rory Albanese is making his departure.
Deadline reports that Albanese is leaving his exec producer/showrunner position to pursue a career in primetime comedy. Albanese, who is also a standup comedian, has signed a double blind script development deal with Warner Bros TV and has sold a multi-cam comedy to CBS under the pact. His last day at "The Daily Show" will be Thursday (Oct. 10).
Albanese has been with Comedy Central show for the past seven years, serving as executive producer for the last five. His departure has been in the works, Deadline reports, with the show planning to promote from within for the new showrunner.

Rory Albanese is stepping down as showrunner and executive producer of “The Daily Show” this week, a Comedy Central spokesman told TheWrap. His exit comes as Albanese prepares to decamp for the West Coast, where he has signed a development deal with Warner Bros. TV. The first project under the pact is a CBS comedy set in a family-owned drug store. A spokesman for Warner Bros. TV did not immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for comment. Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul were upset in their respective acting categories, but Breaking Bad won the night’s top prize, taking home its first Emmy for Best Drama. It was an unpredictable night in several major categories: In addition to The Newsroom’s Jeff Daniels taking home the trophy for Best Actor in a Drama and Boardwalk Empire’s Bobby Cannavale winning for Supporting Actor, Veep’s Tony Hale and Nurse Jackie’s Merritt Wever were surprise winners — Wever was so shocked that she practically ran off the stage without delivering an acceptance speech.

Want to sum up the 2012 presidential election with a single handy turn of phrase? Try one that The Daily Show dreamed up in September, shortly after Mitt Romney’s infamous “47 percent” video hit the Internet: “Chaos on Bulls#%t Mountain.” The term itself and the segment it introduced perfectly encapsulated the frustration many voters felt while watching cable news — while also making them laugh hard enough to forget all about the election’s pettiest moments. Here, Daily Show executive producer Rory Albanese — who’s “gotten a lot of gray hairs” while skewering the past four presidential elections — explains how Bulls#%t Mountain came to be,...
