The Tanners rarely faced a problem they couldn’t resolve in 22 minutes, but the first clip from Lifetime’s The Unauthorized Full House Story reveals it wasn’t all smooth sailing behind the scenes. For one thing, it seems John Stamos (played here by Justin Gaston) wasn’t sold on the Olsen twins. And that Bob Saget (Garrett Brawith) was […]

If you spend your evenings relishing Nick@Nite’s endless Full House reruns and wishing someone, oh someone, would give you a peek behind the scenes of the squeaky-clean series, well, as Michelle Tanner would say: You got it, dude. On the heels of last year’s The Unauthorized Saved By The Bell Story (and ahead of Netflix’ all-grown-up reboot Fuller House), Lifetime will present The Unauthorized Full House Story on August 22. Like its predecessor, Tufhs offers up a cast of unknowns stepping into the shoes — and other questionable ’80s/’90s attire — of the folks who became household names during Full House‘s 192-episode run: Garrett Brawith as Bob … Continue reading →

Have mercy! The first cast photo from Lifetime's latest behind-the-scenes flick, "The Unauthorized Full House Story" is here -- and wow, is it a real treat. Packed with '90s fashion and at least one outrageous wig, the stars of the film are revealed for the first time. Garrett Brawith looks pretty solid as Bob Saget, seen alongside Justin Mader as Dave Coulier and Justin Gaston as John Stamos. Yes, the same Justin Gaston that once dated Miley Cyrus. As for the girls, Shelby Armstrong and Brittney Wilson will tackle Candace Cameron, Dakota Guppy and Gordyn Olson star as Jodie Sweetin and two young pairs of twins play the Olsens. Each of the "characters" will be seen at two different stages in their lives. "From its start as an unassuming family comedy in 1987 to its eventual wildly popular 192-episode run, the film centers on the rise of the cast of...

Is Fdr: American Badass an insipid vacuum of filth, or is it high art of the most outlandish kind? Audiences will be divided, based on their tolerance for raunch, indignity and alternate history.
Like the film, Poolboy: Drowning out the Fury, Fdr is the creation of writer Ross Patterson and director Garrett Brawith, who both revel in working outside mainstream Hollywood, with its rigid concepts of what you "can" and "can't" do in a film. Fdr is part of a movement of independent features that break those "rules."
“They'll tell you over and over what you can and can't do,” says Brawith, “so I've stopped listening.”
“It's just a load of industry bullshit,” insists Patterson. "In Ted, they had a hooker shit on the floor, but Seth MacFarlane is massively successful so he can get away with it. If my name was as huge as his, I would be allowed...

The third collaboration between Ross Patterson and Garret Brawith is, if it is humanly possible, even better than their previous genius Pool Boy: Drowning out the Fury.
This is the kind of film that, like The Fp, and everything ever made by Chris Seaver, or Damon Packard, or the fine people at Everything is Terrible!, is its own brand of modern absurdist humor. And it is my favorite kind of story.
I usually get a mildly similar sense of joy out of only the most inane of The Asylum’s releases, but this is a feature-length full-blast of incredibly tasteless, and therefore heroically funny, humor. It also manages to have a cohesive storyline, developed characters, and in the end Franklin Delano Roosevelt still manages to maintain his...

If you haven’t seen director Garrett Brawith’s upcoming motion picture “Fdr: American Badass!”, a flick which concerns itself with the president’s battle against the misdeeds of werewolves, then you’re really missing out on something special. Seriously. I feel sorry for you. I really do. You’ll have a chance to see the film for yourself when it arrives later this year, but until then, I shall walk as a God among men, for it is I who has experienced new and uncharted Bostwickian heights. Pitting historical figures against the dark and sinister creatures of the night is really nothing new. “Phantasm” director Don Coscarelli spearheaded the genre with his 2002 horror/comedy “Bubba Hotep”, a motion picture which finds Elvis (Bruce Campbell) and John F. Kennedy (Ossie Davis) battling an ancient, soul-sucking mummy inside the gloomy confines of an old folks home. Now, it would seem, everyone and their opportunistic mother-in-law is looking to get in on the act. Even “Wanted” mastermind Timur Bekmambetov has his own like-minded endeavor in the form of “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter”, a film which comes complete with its own mockbuster from direct-to-video geniuses The Asylum. Shock of the year: I kind of dig these flicks, so until the bubble bursts, I’ll just relax and ride the wave. If the idea of a watching tall, lanky Abraham Lincoln lookalike battle legions of colonial bloodsuckers doesn’t sound like very much fun,...

In what seems to be a new cinematic trend of recasting former American presidents as twisted action heroes (we're looking at you, "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter"), the upcoming film "Fdr: American Badass!" imagines our nation's 32nd chief executive as a werewolf-battling brawler with a super-charged, bullet-spitting wheelchair. The film, directed by Garrett Brawith and written by Ross Patterson, stars Barry Bostwick as Fdr and, while it might not be the most historically accurate portrayal of Fdr ever presented, it is one of the more amusing portrayals. When Saint James St. James tells you that something is going to change your life, you’d better believe him. Below you’ll find the trailer for writer Ross Patterson and director Garrett Brawith’s upcoming action farce “Fdr: American Badass!”, a motion picture crafted specifically for those individuals who always dreamed of watching Franklin Delano Roosevelt fight Nazi werewolves. Hey, if Abraham Lincoln can fight werewolves and zombies, Fdr should be able to fight lycans from his wheelchair. Personally, I’d love to see George Washington battle ravenous, blood-thirsty chupacabras during the brutal winter of 1777. We all have dreams. Before we get to the trailer, let’s insert this synopsis into our brains: In this throwback to the original 1966 Batman movie, Fdr rides a “wheelchair of death” to stop the world from werewolves who carry the polio virus, including werewolf versions of Hitler, Mussolini, and Emperor Hirohito. Who knew that Kevin Sorbo could do comedy? I certainly didn’t. Sure, some of the guy’s movies are pretty funny, but I doubt they were filmed with that intent. Director Garrett Brawith’s 2011 action parody “Poolboy: Drowning Out the Fury”, on the other hand, takes the iconic action hero and thrusts him into a “Naked Gun”-style comedy that attempts to lampoon every genre cliche known to mankind. Like most comedies of this nature, some of the jokes work, and some of them do not. Don’t let the over-the-top acting and the lousy special effects fool you — this one is meant to be terrible, though it would appear that some select viewers simply weren’t in on the joke. And that’s a shame, really, because “Poolboy” has a lot to offer those who are as obsessed with explosions as I am. Here’s hoping there are others out there.

President Franklin Roosevelt wasn't just commander-in-chief of the American forces that defeated the Nazis; he also track them down and shot their faces off in his wheelchair of death.
Well, he did according to the new campy horror flick "Fdr: American Badass!," anyway. The new film from director Garrett Brawith stars Barry Bostwick as a raunchy version of the four-term president who contracted polio from a bite from a Nazi werewolf. As it turns out, Hitler and Mussolini are werewolves, too, which sets Roosevelt and his allies on a wild mission to defeat them using any means necessary.
Including the Delano 2000, a wheelchair outfitted with a crazy amount of artillery.

As I clicked on the link sent to me by our good friend Wintle and started watching this red band trailer for Fdr: American Badass!, there was only one thought running through my mind: please be real. It certainly seemed like it could be just another parody trailer, created with the sole intention of garnering YouTube hits, but the cast included a handful of character actors like Barry Bostwick and Ray Wise, who didn't seem likely to be associated with such a thing. It turns out that the movie is real... unfortunately, it doesn't seem to have a release date as of yet. Fdr: American Badass! re-imagines Franklin D. Roosevelt as an action hero who has been stricken with polio due to a werewolf bite, and now rides around on a wheelchair of death hunting down lycanthropes and nazis. It certainly looks like yet another Grindhouse / Black Dynamite-esque period comedy,...

Ponder this synopsis of Fdr: American Badass!: "The story of Franklin D. Roosevelt, the thirty-second President of the United States, a foul-mouthed, hardcore badass in a customized wheelchair of death, single-handedly battling Mussolini, Hirohito, and Hitler in their diabolical plan for global domination using polio-infected werewolves as weapons." Sounds a lot more exciting than signing the Social Security Act into law. Fdr, as played by Barry Bostwick (this ain't no Spin City), is indeed a very profane Potus in this counterfactual tale (as you can hear in the trailer). And that souped-up wheelchair does look pretty badass. Written by Ross Patterson, and directed by Garrett Brawith (the team that brought you the [...]...

Holy cigarette filter-chomping hell. Fdr: American Badass! is attempting to win every award for low budget insanity ever made. It’s an obvious money grab in response to Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Slayer, but whereas that gem sought to preserve a bit of history, Fdr: Ab! takes history, injects it with polio, glues 8 pounds of fur to it and lights it on fire. There is nothing about this trailer that doesn’t live up to the Badass pedigree. It all screams “Success!” Explosions, Werewolf Hitler, Barry Bostwick taking it all exactly as seriously as it needs to be taken. Of course, it was all directed by Garrett Brawith, the guy who played Jeffrey Dahmer in Diary of a Serial Killer. Plus, Kevin Sorbo playing Abraham Lincoln. Figure that one out. Werewolf Nazis, people. It’s people in werewolf costumes in Nazi uniforms. Enjoy! Fuck. Polio. 2012. If only he’d had a mic to drop after that. Source:...

This June, we will see Abraham Lincoln take on a horde of undead bloodsuckers in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. But he’s not the only President with an axe to grind with the supernatural this year. The official red band trailer for Fdr: American Badass! has been released onto a very unsuspecting public. Mixing horror and history with tongue firmly planted in cheek, it stars Barry Bostwick as the legendary New Deal-creating President who embarks on a blood-covered trail of revenge against the Werewolf Nazis who infected him with Polio. I’m really not making this up guys, but if you need further proof check out the trailer below:
Joining Bostwick in is Ray Wise who plays General Douglas MacArthur, Paul Ben Victor as Italian tyrant Mussolini (also a werewolf), and Kevin Sorbo as Abraham Lincoln. Yes guys, we’re actually getting three different Lincolns this year and if I say so myself,...

Above we've discovered the trailer for Garrett Brawith's directorial debut Fdr: American Badass, which stars Barry Bostwick, Lin Shaye and Bruce McGill. The pic "follows Franklin D. Roosevelt (Bostwick) as a badass werewolf hunter tracking down the like of Adolf Hitler, Mussolini and Hirohito in his customized wheelchair of death. This isn't the Fdr you know, this guy's got lip, and will punch you in yours." Penned by lowbrow comedy writer Ross Patterson, shooting took place last December in Los Angeles. This feels like an attempt to cash in on the recent popularity of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.

Kevin Sorbo, Danny Trejo, and Jason Mewes? In the same motion picture? Why in the hell didn’t someone tell me about this thing sooner? Below you’ll find the trailer for director Garrett Brawith’s “Poolboy: Drowning Out the Fury”, a supposed “lost movie” from the 90′s that was deemed too terrible to release by the flick’s distributor. As a diehard Sorbo fan, I have a strong compulsion to watch this movie as soon as humanly possible. However, I suppose I’ll have to wait for someone to bring this to the States, as it’s currently only available on Region 2. What the hell is that about? Someone get this thing distribution, post-haste! Need a synopsis? Feel free to take this one: In this unearthed lost movie from 1990 that the studio deemed too terrible to release, a Vietnam Veteran Sal Bando (Sorbo), tortured by his past as a...

It's not a real 'lost' movie from 1990, that's just a neat gimmick to sell this flick. But it Is everything else of which I've ever dreamed.
Firt, Kevin Sorbo is in it. I Adore him. And you do too. Second, it is set in Van Nuys, California (think: the shitty part of Los Angeles) my humble home. And it's about Mexicans. If you make anything that is set in Van Nuys, it better have lots of fucking Mexicans in it because - gees. We have a lot of them here. They have great supermercados at which I can by plastic spoons con tamarind. Soy gringa, pero quiero tamarind.
Co-starring Danny Trejo, Jason Mewes, and Robert La Sardo, Poolboy: Drowning out the Fury was directed by Garrett Brawith and written by Ross Patterson (whoever they are). It doesn't matter who they are; they're geniuses. Their film isn't out yet, but I...

Here is a horror story; Kevin Sorbo is starring in a low brow comedy feature with Danny Trejo called Poolboy, or Poolboy: Drowning out the Fury. Camelot Entertainment Group has just released the trailer on this feature and in the clip lots of B move actors taking part. Also showing are Jason Mewes, Mark Curry and Robert Lasardo. Step into some craziness as Sorbo plays a man suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, from his work cleaning pools.
The synopsis for the film is here:
"In this unearthed lost movie from 1990 that the studio deemed too terrible to release, a Vietnam Veteran Sal Bando (Sorbo), tortured by his past as a poolboy, returns home to Van Nuys, California, and a country he doesn't recognize, in which it seems only Mexicans run pool-cleaning companies. Bando sets off on a brutal mission to reclaim his "rightful" vocation and enact revenge on the man...

Following on the heels of popular "historical reimaginings" like Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter comes a new one that, if nothing else, has a great title. Fdr: American Badass. So what is the 32nd president hunting? Find out after the jump. Fdr will be hunting werewolves which apparently includes the likes of Hitler and Mussolini. Apparently he rolls in a "wheelchair of death." We like that. Script comes from writer and actor Ross Patterson (Screwball: The Ted Whitfield Story). Directing reins will be handled by actor Garrett Brawith (Diary of a Serial Killer) in his directorial debut. Filming is set to begin in Los Angeles next month. Frankly, I wouldn't...

No doubt looking to capitalize on the burgeoning trend of melding classic literature and historical figures with horror (i.e., Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter), now America's 32nd President will be getting in on the monster fighting action in Fdr: American Badass.
Actor Garrett Brawith will make his directorial debut helming this rewriting of history from comedy writer Ross Patterson that sees Franklin Delano Roosevelt slaying werewolves, Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, and Emperor Hirohito with his weaponized custom wheelchair. Shooting of Fdr: American Badass begins in December.
Makes you wonder where this trend will go next. Teddy Roosevelt hunting Sasquatch? Ben Franklin reimagined as Dr. Frankenstein? Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn rafting the Mississippi River fighting a Great White Shark? Billy the Kid vs. Dracula?
Oh, right, they've already done that last one.
