Written by Stevie Long, the original low-budget title ranked as one of the most-watched movies on Hulu during the streamer’s earliest days, per reporting from NPR. The story centers around two successful women, sick and tired of dating and relationships, who decide to keep two young men in their pool house for strictly sexual purposes. During the ensuing months, however, the couples become closer and begin to develop romantic feelings.
Amber Benson, Johann Urb, Kristen Kerr, Trevor Murphy, and Long starred in the pic, which was followed up by Strictly Sexual: The Series, a 2011 spin-off produced by Viertel and Long that reunited much of the original cast.
Viertel will return to direct the remake, with Long co-writing the script alongside Stoked Bros Media co-founder and former NBA player turned filmmaker Jarnell Stokes...

Ready for another ride in Mickey Haller’s Lincoln? Netflix hasn’t announced the release date for the next chapter of The Lincoln Lawyer, its hit adaptation of Michael Connelly’s crime fiction, but filming on Season 3 wrapped in June, so the legal drama’s new episodes will likely be here before you know it. Good thing we have a brief on Seasons 1 and 2. Read on for the story so far… Season 1 starts with the murder of attorney Jerry Vincent (Paul Urcioli), whose practice then transfers to Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), a lawyer recovering from a painkiller addiction. One of Jerry’s cases was that of Trevor Elliott (Christopher Gorham), a video game designer accused of murdering Lara (Katy Erin), his wife, and Jan Ritz (Johann Urb), Lara’s lover. In Mickey’s corner are Lorna Crane (Becki Newton), his legal aide and second ex-wife who was a hotshot law...

Director Joe Lynch's latest project is Suitable Flesh, an adaptation of the H. P. Lovecraft story "The Thing on the Doorstep." Genre fans will be squeeing with delight at the prospect of seeing Lovecraft's most interesting later stories coming to life on the big screen, and horror fans warmly received the world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on Sunday.
Nevertheless, however well the film does following its release on Shudder, it remains that H. P. Lovecraft adaptations are a hard sell for Hollywood. In fact, the few attempts at making a high-profile adaptation on either television or film have tended to meet with mixed results at best. Why do Lovecraft projects have a history of flattering to deceive or sinking without a trace?
Suitable Flesh's Challenge

This small-town crime movie has a dash of imagination in its plot but Willis’s flagrant inertia makes it one for the diehards
‘This is Georgia,” drawls a character near the start of this tiresome, oddly dull action thriller. “Everyone’s doing something they’re not supposed to be doing.” But the problem with Bruce Willis in the movie is that he’s not doing something that he is supposed to be doing: acting. He puts in a such a wooden performance playing a washed-up, burnt-out cop that I could have screamed in frustration.
American Siege is set 10 years after the mysterious disappearance in a backwater town of teenager Brigit Baker (played in flashback by Sarah May Sommers). Brigit’s boyfriend Roy (Rob Gough) has spent the past decade in prison; now he wants the truth. Armed to the teeth, he storms the house of a local pharmacist, accompanied by...

"I'm the Sheriff of this county." "Don't forget who put you there." Vertical Entertainment has released the official trailer for American Siege, another of these junk Bruce Willis action movies he has been making non-stop for the last few years. This is from the same director as Broil and Cosmic Sin and Apex - all films which I hope none of you have paid to see. Here's the recycled plot for American Siege: An ex-nypd officer-turned-sheriff of a small rural Georgia town has to contend with a gang of thieves who have taken a wealthy doctor hostage. Bruce Willis co-stars with Timothy V. Murphy, plus Rob Gough, Anna Hindman, Johann Urb, Cullen G. Chambers, and Trevor Gretzky. This looks excruciatingly bad... And the only reason we keep featuring these Willis trailers is just to gawk at how awful they are + laugh at this absurdity. Here's the official trailer (+ poster...

Update: It turns out that this was just an April Fools joke and the photo is not real.
Love them or hate them, Paul W.S. Anderson’s Resident Evil movies exist. Though I admittedly dug the first and fourth installments, as a fan of the games, I didn’t care for the live action film franchise by and large. The CGI flicks produced by Capcom, however, are the cat’s pajamas in my book.
As you may have heard, Netflix is supposed to take a stab at the beloved survival horror series in the very near future – and, thankfully, they’re said to be ignoring the movies. Call me crazy, but I’d hoped to see the original game faithfully adapted in serialized form, though it appears that’s not what’s coming together.
Thanks to Comic Book Movie, a photo has leaked from the set, and it shows Leon Kennedy...

Even if a TV series is to be headlined by a character you personally champion, it’s imperative that it maintain quality for the long haul if viewers are to be kept aboard. In the case of Arrow, its fifth season proved to be one of the show’s strongest outings, so I was quite pleased to see the sixth continued with that momentum.
What was especially interesting about this past year was that the whole team dynamic was taken to a new level – yet sight was never lost on the titular character, that being the Emerald Archer himself. Believe me, Oliver Queen was really taken to the limit this time around, as Ricardo Diaz proved to be quite the formidable foe.
So, if you’ve been following along and are willing to relive the journey – or you play the waiting game and do the binge-watch thing – know that Arrow:...

On The CW series Arrow, things are reaching a very dangerous, very critical level for Team Arrow, when it comes to stopping Cayden James (Michael Emerson) and his team of villains. With Oliver (Stephen Amell) not knowing who he can trust anymore, he and Dinah (Juliana Harkavy) have a major disagreement when it comes to how to handle things with Vigilante (Johann Urb). During this 1-on-1 phone interview with Collider, actor Johann Urb talked about how little he knew about Vigilante when he signed on, whether he thinks of the character more as Vincent or Vigilante, the great …...

Vigilante might be turning over a new leaf. In “We Fall,” last week’s episode of Arrow, he openly betrayed Cayden James’ cabal when he executed one of his teammates right in front of Oliver Queen. Now, in “All for Nothing,” he may have to give up his lone wolf lifestyle in order help Teams Arrow prevent a thermobaric bomb from detonating inside Star City. According to Vigilante actor Johann Urb, the character just might be willing to make that leap thanks to his love for Dinah “Black Canary” Drake.
Speaking to Cbr, Urb opened up about Vigilante’s mindset as the character dives into the battle to save Star City. He teased flashbacks to Vincent’s “ancient history” with Dinah, whether fans will get a glimpse of his life after his “death” in Central City and how his dynamic with Green Arrow has changed since he betrayed Cayden James.

Arrow guest star Johann Urb believes that Vigilante’s motivations are completely tied up in his relationship with his former partner and love interest, Dinah Drake. The series revealed the masked gunman was really Victor Sobel earlier in season 6, but the character has only just recently come into his own, after demonstrating he was working undercover in Cayden James’ gang and coming to the aid of Wild Dog, Mister Terrific, and Black Canary in the most recent episode.

Now that 2018 is officially underway and we have the holidays behind us, it’s about time that we get back to the TV shows that we love. To be more specific, folks like me can’t wait to resume the current season of what DC has to offer and, fortunately, that’ll arrive next week with a slew of midseason premieres, culminating with the returning episode of Arrow.
So, after spoiling us with a fresh batch of images culled from the appropriately titled “Divided,” the network is willing to let loose yet another goodie in the form of an extended trailer. Being considerably meatier than any other promo video we’ve seen since the winter hiatus began, we get more hints as to how fractured Team Arrow truly is, with the originals – Oliver Queen, John Diggle and Felicity Smoak – going about their own way, and the rest – Wild Dog, Black...

But once we’ve had a chance to take in all that awesomeness yet again, we’re understandably going to crave some new content. Fortunately, that’ll arrive the following week in a slew of midseason premieres, culminating with the returning episode of Arrow.
To celebrate this, the network has begun circulating a new promo on social media. In it, we’re reacquainted with the idea that Cayden James is putting together quite the formidable cabal, which also includes the likes of Black Siren,...

Arrow‘s midseason finale saw Team Arrow at their lowest point, as half the crime-fighting group walked away from the Arrowcave due to a fallout with Oliver Queen. It turned out, though, that this was all part of a fiendish scheme from Cayden James, who’s formed a Legion of Doom-style villain team-up with the likes of Black Siren, Vigilante, Ricardo Diaz and Anatoly Knyazev.
When Arrow returns for its midseason premiere, titled “Divided,” next month, Green Arrow’s conflict with Cayden James’ criminal cabal will intensify. Now that the synopsis for the episode has been revealed, we know that Oliver will find out a “shocking truth” about the Helix hacker that will lead him to unite with an “unlikely ally.”

Resident Evil, the most successful videogame to film adaptation of all time, is coming to a close with Resident Evil: The Final Chapter.
Of course, the six Resident Evil films are “loosely” based on the video games, but how much do the two actually cross over? Some of the bigger details are the same; both are set in and around Racoon City and both the films and video games are facing the T-Virus-inflicted zombie apocalypse (which the Umbrella Corportation is responsible for). However, it’s the characters that both separate and unite the film and video game worlds. The films follow the story of Alice (Milla Jovovich) who sets out on a mission to find her identity and wipe out the T-Virus. As she journeys through...

While January doesn't often produce huge box office hits, fans have come out in full force for Oscar-nominated films like Hidden Figures and La La Land, which both continue to fare well with solid box office numbers throughout the month. Last weekend, M. Night Shyamalan's Split over-performed with an impressive box office win with $40 million, and it was certainly expected to repeat, even with three new releases hitting theaters. Joining the box office fray this weekend is Sony's Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, Universal's A Dog's Purpose and The Weinstein Company's Gold. The race was expected to be much closer, but Split took advantage of a minimal second weekend drop to easily win with $26.2 million
The estimates from Box Office Mojo reveal that Split actually expanded into 161 more theaters for a total of 3,199, which may have helped minimize the traditional second weekend drop. The M. Night Shyamalan thriller only dropped 34.3% in its second weekend,...

The month of January doesn't often usher in huge box office grosses, but horror fans came out in droves to see M. Night Shyamalan's Split, which took in just over $40 million last weekend. This thriller will have its work cut out for it this weekend, going up against three new releases, Sony's Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, Universal's A Dog's Purpose and The Weinstein Company's Gold to close out the month of January. We're predicting that, while it certainly may be a close race this weekend, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter will take down Split with a projected $21.7 million, just barely beating Split with $20.6 million.
Box Office Mojo reports that Resident Evil 6 will open in roughly 3,000 theaters, followed by A Dog's Purpose in 2,900 theaters and Gold in 2,200 theaters. As of now, Gold is sporting a middling 43% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, although Resident Evil: The Final Chapter and A Dog's Purpose...

Nearly 15 years after the franchise first started, Milla Jovovich will finally close out her iconic character Alice's story with Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. As we get closer and closer to the January 27, 2017 release date, Sony Pictures has debuted a new motion poster, featuring a new look at Alice, who seemingly needs to invest in some flame-retardant pants, as it seems the lower half of her body is on fire. While this movie will mark the end of Alice's story, it remains to be seen whether or not she will actually survive.
Sony Pictures debuted the motion poster on Twitter earlier today, which, at the very least, teases that Alice will have to survive quite the fiery fight if she wants to be standing at the end of this franchise finale. The first trailer debuted last month, and the second trailer could be just around the corner. Sony Pictures and...

With production scheduled to begin next month in South Africa, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter has brought in Ali Larter to portray Claire Redfield. This final installment of the Resident Evil franchise will be Ali Larter's third time portraying Claire Redfield, following 2007's Resident Evil: Extinction and 2010's Resident Evil: Afterlife. Milla Jovovich is coming back as Alice, but no other cast members have been officially confirmed at this point.
Production on this sequel has been delayed a few times, following the 2012 release of Resident Evil: Retribution. Filming was supposed to begin on Resident Evil: The Final Chapter in the fall of 2013, but that never came to pass. Last year, Milla Jovovich announced on her Facebook page that shooting was being pushed by one year, due to the actress' pregnancy. Production is still slated to take place in Cape Town, South Africa, which is where pre-production was taking place when the delay was announced.

Back in August, Resident Evil franchise star Milla Jovovich revealed that production had been delayed on Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, because she and her husband/director Paul W.S. Anderson are expecting their second child. She said then that shooting wouldn't happen until the summer of 2015. Now, the actress confirms in a new Facebook post that shooting will begin this August. Here's what she had to say in her post from Tuesday.
"I'm really proud of myself for not gaining the same amount of weight that I did with our first child (75 lbs.) because I have to be ready to start filming Resident Evil: The Final Chapter in August of this year and I will also be nursing an infant simultaneously (get ready wardrobe department for Alice's new 'easy mama access' costume;)) so I don't want to be on any extreme diets to get ready to go back to "action hero" mode!

Production on the greenlit Resident Evil 6 hit a snag last year when Paul W.S. Anderson (who has scripted all five previous Resident Evil entries and directed three of them) became caught up in post-production on his historical epic Pompeii. As such, cameras didn’t get rolling last fall, which had been the director’s plan, and the film is not expected to land this September. However, Anderson is still very invested in getting Resident Evil 6, which many have speculated will be the franchise’s final outing, off the ground.
Speaking at the Beijing International Film Festival, the director dropped some interesting tidbits about the project. Most notably, Li Bingbing will definitely be reprising her role as Ada Wong for the movie. In reviewing romantic comedies, one of the best descriptions of a movie is to call it as “cute.” It basically means that the movie is definitely not great, but one is trying really, really hard not to classify it as abysmal.
And with many people, the word “cute” is probably the best description for “Dorfman in Love.”
“Dorfman in Love” follows a young woman named Deb Dorfman (played by Sara Rue), who has a crush on a handsome international news reporter Jay (played by Johann Urb). Jay gets an assignment to cover events in Afghanistan and Deb volunteers to babysit his cat and house sit his loft in Downtown Los Angeles.
As a girl from San Fernando Valley, she must adjust to the hustling fast lifestyle of Downtown Los Angeles with bars, night clubs and life in studio apartments. She eventually befriends a neighbor named Cookie (played by Haaz Slieman), who loves the promiscuous lifestyle.

Title: Dorfman in Love Director: Bradley Leong Starring: Sara Rue, Elliott Gould, Jonathan Chase, Johann Urb, Haaz Sleiman, Keri Lynn Pratt, Sophie Monk, Hayley Marie Norman, Kelen Coleman, Scott Wilson Saddled with a terrible, clunky title and a programmatic narrative that represents a fairly unpersuasive blend of the familiar and contrived, Los Angeles-set indie romantic comedy “Dorfman in Love” connects most fitfully as a vehicle for the charms of star Sara Rue. Penned by Wendy Kout and directed by Bradley Leong, the big-hearted movie is a sort of “Bridget Jones’s Diary” by way of “(500) Days of Summer,” though without the apexes of cleverness and flair found in those films. It was previously mentioned that Paul W.S. Anderson had plans for a sixth Resident Evil movie, and it looks like Sony is now ready to move forward on it. According to Styd, Sony plans to release a new Resident Evil movie on September 1th, 2014. There are no official details on the new movie at this time, but things should start to come together quickly if they are interested in putting the movie into theaters 18 months from now.
This movie franchise revolves around Milla Jovovich as Alice, so we can’t imagine her not returning. Paul W.S. Anderson will likely be involved in the creative process once again, but there’s no word on if he’ll be directing this time around. The last two movies have been filmed in 3D, so that should be another given as well. Hopefully, Sony will be ready to release more details at Comic-Con this July,...
