Some people would say that 1968 was the greatest year in Heavy Metal history. That year the founders of the genre, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, and Black Sabbath, were formed. If it hadn’t been for those guys nothing else would have followed and that, as they say, is that.
Then there are rest of us who would love to smack those people in the face. The seventies came to a terrible end with the towering giants of Zeppelin and Sabbath crashing hard. The bright star that was Deep Purple had burnt out a long time before. It was a time for a changing of the guard, time for Heavy Metal music to take things up a notch if it was going to stay alive.

Comedies don't always need to make sense. Would I prefer there be a mythology to the Wilfred madness? Sure, but if that dog continues to kill vacuum cleaners because he thinks they are evil robots, the hilarity will keep on trumping the confusion.
"Doubt" definitely muddied the waters that "Compassion" seemed to clear up last week. After seeing Ryan's mother talk to Mittens, it seemed that this was some sort of hereditary psychosis that he inherited from Catherine. Now, with all of this Bruce business, I am not so sure.
Was Bruce another figment of Ryan's imagination? Or was he just another troubled man that could also see man-Wilfred as he claimed? The one time Ryan pointed him out to Kristen, Bruce wasn't there. However, Wilfred acted like Bruce was a real person at times, yet at others made it seem like he had invented Bruce Bruce.

In today's helping of TV snacks, ABC is staffing up its primetime medical dramas, RuPaul's ratings are no drag and Showtime celebrates Black History Month.
Movie actress Nancy Travis is returning to ABC, but not on "Desperate Housewives" again. She'll be checking into "Grey's Anatomy" as a patient in Derek's (Patrick Dempsey) Alzheimer's clinical trials, but it's her parenting skills that will be examined. [TV Guide]
He played Miranda's (Cynthia Nixon) husband, Steve, in the "Sex and the City" franchise and now David Eigenberg is going to make an unusual request on ABC's "Private Practice" when he guests as the husband of one of Addison's (Kate Walsh) patients. [TV Guide]
The ratings for Monday's (Jan. 24) Season 3 premiere of "RuPaul's Drag Race" was everything but a drag for Logo with 302,000 people tuning in. It showed a 33% increase over Season 2's premiere and it was the highest rated show for the network since Season 2's "Rpdr" finale episode.

Stories like this one are why I love writing for Dread Central. Where else could we learn about a movie called The Disco Exorcist?!?
From the Press Release:
Scorpio Film Releasing is proud to announce that their next production will be The Disco Exorcist, a blood-soaked tale of revenge, sex, black magic, disco dancing, and mountains of cocaine. New England genre film director Richard Griffin takes on his bloodiest, sexiest film yet with a production so lurid that only a rating of Nc-17 will suffice.
As with Griffin’s spot-on genre throwback Nun of That and Beyond the Dunwich Horror, The Disco Exorcist promises to be a pitch perfect representation of the 1970’s exploitation genre. "In this age of soulless state-of-the-art, 3D, IMAX CGI-laden 'filmmaking', we thought it would be exciting to bring the art of cinema back to its most basic. Film. Real film ... with grain and scratches, warts and all.

We just received confirmation that this past weekend’s Shaq’s NBA All -Star Comedy Jam in Dallas produced by Codeblack Entertainment generated the highest 2 day gross ticket sales for an urban comedy show since The Original Kings of Comedy which began its huge run in the 1995.
So far, the Original Kings Of Comedy Tour is the highest grossing comedy tour of all time, but that window looks like it’s shrinking quickly. As we all know, the Kings featured Steve Harvey, D.L. Hughley, Cedric The Entertainer, and the late Bernie Mac.
Why do we say that? Well, the two day gross for All Star Jam was $880,676.00, and this was for just Two days. We should also note here that the show would have crossed 1 million dollars if it had not been for the snow as Dallas was hit with a snow storm on Thursday and the storm dampened ticket sales.

The NBA All Star Weekend competition did not prove to be as full of excitement as in years past, especially the Slam Dunk competition. However, the excitement and hype for the one of the most anticipated shows of the weekend fell on the shoulders of The Katt Williams Experience which never took place.
Due to the enormous amounts of complaints that we have received from the fans in Dallas, we would have to say that comedian Katt Williams’ no show for The Katt Williams experience Still has folks talking.
But not to be lost in all of the drama of Katt Williams, Codeblack Entertainment still produced a duo comedy show that kicked off the weekend despite the turbulent start with the inclement weather. The Shaq’s Comedy All Stars shows both were sold out, as they featured comedians Mo’Nique, Mike Epps, DeRay Davis, Kevin Hart, Bruce Bruce, George Wilborn,...
