The CW has acquired the US rights to the action series “Professionals” starring Tom Welling, Brendan Fraser, and Elena Anaya.
The premiere date for the show’s U.S. broadcast debut will be announced at a later date.
“Professionals” follows Vincent Corbo (Welling), a top-tier security operative, who is paid to protect the interests of rich and powerful clients by any means necessary – legal or not. After a next-gen medical satellite explodes on launch, Corbo is hired by the rocket’s designer – billionaire futurist Peter Swann (Fraser) – who suspects sabotage. Complicating Corbo’s new gig is his former paramour and now Swann’s fiancée, medical visionary Dr. Grace Davila (Anaya), who is racing to help stave off a global catastrophe.

"As fun as it is scary." Yep, you read it right - this is a gory horror movie made entirely with puppets. Even though Brian Henson tried to make an R-rated puppet movie a few years back (The Happytime Murders), this one looks like everything that movie was not - much better and much more disgusting. Frank & Zed is a homemade passion project from filmmaker Jesse Blanchard. "It was shot in 4K in Blanchard's garage and a nearby studio and required the creation of 40 handmade puppets, miniatures, practical cloud tank effects, and actual fire." Badass. Lovingly crafted entirely with hand puppets, this hilarious, blood-drenched practical marvel sees the peaceful, secluded lifestyle of two monsters threatened when a group of desperate villagers come to repay an age-old pact to a wretched demon. Featuring the voices of Mandy Stockholm, Daniel Wagner, Jonathan McLain, Sam A. Mowry. And tons of gnarly puppets. I always enjoy these low budget,...

Brendan Fraser Actioner ‘Professionals’ Finds Global Distribution With Rainmaker Content (Exclusive)
Rainmaker Content has picked up worldwide distribution rights from German studio Leonine for Brendan Fraser-starring action series “Professionals.” The project, which was completed during the global pandemic, will be shopped to buyers at next month’s virtual Mipcom market.
Commissioned by Nordic Entertainment Group (Nent Group) for streamer Viaplay, the cast includes Fraser (“Trust”), Tom Welling (“Smallville”), Elena Anaya (“Wonder Woman”), Saïd Taghmaoui (“John Wick 3”), Ken Duken (“Inglorious Basterd”), Lisa Loven Kongsli (“Force Majeure”) and August Wittgenstein (“The Crown”).
The 10-part series stars Welling as hardened former counterintelligence officer Captain Vincent Corbo, who is hired by billionaire futurist Peter Swann (Fraser) and his fiancée, medical visionary Dr. Graciela “Grace” Davila (Anaya), to investigate the explosion of an advanced medical satellite. What Corbo and his team discover, however, is that a combination of Swann’s business rivals, corrupt government officials and a shadowy crime syndicate could be behind the attack.

Here’s a first look at the new trailer for Paul Bettany’s directorial debut Shelter, starring Jennifer Connelly and Anthony Mackie.
Hannah and Tahir (Jennifer Connelly, Anthony Mackie) come from two different worlds. But when their lives intersect, they’re at the same place: homeless on the streets of New York. How did they get there? As we learn about their past, we begin to understand that to have a future, they need each other.
There are more than 50,000 homeless people living on the streets and in the shelters of New York City. To most of us they are nameless and faceless, and occasionally a nuisance. But every single person has a story. And Hannah and Tahir are no different. And theirs is a story of loss, love, hope and redemption.
Bettany also wrote the film which is from producers Robert Ogden Barnum, Paul Bettany, Daniel Wagner and Katie Mustard.

While putting my early Oscar predictions together I included Don Cheadle's directorial debut Miles Ahead, in which he not only directs but stars in the life story of Miles Davis, on my Best Actor (Cheadle) and Best Supporting Actress (Emayatzy Corinealdi) charts, but not on the Best Picture charts because the film is still without a domestic distributor and therefore without a release date and I didn't want to get too far ahead of myself. Well, the film is now set to premiere at the 53rd New York Film Festival as the closing night feature, which may be just the thing it needs to get a little buzz going. The announcement also comes with the following information regarding the story the film set out to tell: Miles Davis was one of the greatest artists of the 20th century. And how do you make a movie about himc You get...

A film as lost as it’s characters, Young Ones is what happens when big ideas meet terrible execution and a lackluster script, combining for a film that’s a chore to watch.
Young Ones is an epic film, a neowestern sci-fi film, spilt into chapters to show what happens when scarce resources force people to the breaking point. Ernest Holm (Michael Shannon) lives and works on the harsh frontier, delivering supplies to the workers on the water line with his son Jerome (Kodi Smit McPhee). Meanwhile at home his daughter Mary (Elle Fanning) is tired of the struggles and wants a better life, something presented to her in the form of Flem Lever (Nicholas Hoult). Unbeknownst to the clan, Lever has bigger designs than just Mary and longs to have Ernrest’s land for himself and to return it to it’s former glory.
