Those looking for the 411 on Crime 101are in luck, as Chris Hemsworth and Halle Berry's upcoming heist thriller has stolen a high-profile date in Amazon MGM Studios' theatrical release calendar. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Crime 101, based on the crime novella of the same name by author Don Winslow, will open in theaters on Feb. 13, 2026, just in time for Valentine's Day, because who needs flowers when you have an Avenger in action outside the MCU? It also coincides with the beginning of Presidents' Day weekend.
The studio behind Crime 101 has reportedly committed to Feb. 13, 2026, despite it being the same day that Emerald Fennell's controversial Wuthering Heights' adaptation opens in theaters, and a highly curious untitled MCU Phase 6 movie. This release date takes advantage of the long holiday weekend that often presents moviegoers with free time to visit the theater. The addition of Crime 101 to the...

THR reports that Chris Hemsworth is set to star in Subversion for Amazon MGM Studios. Directed by Patrick Vollrath from a script by Andrew Ferguson, the project has been described as a “Die Hard on a submarine” style thriller. Personally, I’m still waiting for “Die Hard on an ice cream truck.”
Hemsworth will star as a “once-promising Naval commander who is blackmailed by a cartel-like operation into piloting a dangerous submarine carrying illegal cargo across international waters. Thrust into a high-stakes game of cat and mouse, the man must outmaneuver blockades and navigate perilous threats both in and outside of the submarine.” Lorenzo di Bonaventura is set to produce through his di Bonaventura Pictures banner, with production looking to kick off in Australia this fall.

An underrated legal thriller starring Mark Ruffalo is making waves on Peacock. Dark Waters is now available to stream on Peacock after being added to the streaming service at the start of the month.
Directed by Todd Haynes, Dark Waters stars Ruffalo as real-life corporate defense lawyer Rob Bilott, dramatizing his case against the chemical manufacturing corporation DuPont after they contaminated a town with unregulated chemicals. Mario Correa and Matthew Michael Carnahan wrote the screenplay for the 2019 legal thriller, based on the 2016 New York Times Magazine article "The Lawyer Who Became DuPont's Worst Nightmare" by Nathaniel Rich. Besides Ruffalo, Dark Waters features several recognizable actors, such as Anne Hathaway (The Dark Knight Rises), Tim Robbins (The Shawshank Redemption), Victor Garber (Legends of Tomorrow), William Jackson Harper (The Good Place), and Bill Pullman (Independence Day).
Focus Features received a limited theatrical release from Focus Features on Nov. 22, 2019, before expanding on Dec.

Women in Hollywood often speak about how they have to work two times as hard as their male counterparts to demand respect. As the only Black woman to win Best Actress at the Academy Awards, for her role as Leticia Musgrove in Monster's Ball, you'd think respect is instantly given to Halle Berry. However, it seems as if she and other women are still dealing with nonsense as the actress revealed Chris Hemsworth stood up for her during a moment in their new film Crime 101. For that reason, Hemsworth gained a lifelong supporter in Berry, who expressed her admiration for the Marvel star.

Which Hollywood Actress Was Chris Hemsworth Intimidated To Work With? ( Photo Credit – Flickr )
Chris Hemsworth is Hollywood’s golden thunder god, literally and figuratively. From flexing his hammer-wielding muscles as Thor to diving into high-octane action in Extraction, the man has become the poster boy for charm, chiseled jawlines, and blockbuster hits.
He’s got that cool Aussie swagger, a face sculpted by the cinematic gods, and a résumé that screams “box office magnet.” Whether he’s making us laugh in Ghostbusters, fighting aliens in the Men in Black reboot, or saving the universe in the MCU, Hemsworth usually looks like he has everything under control. So, you’d think nothing could shake this guy, right? Wrong.
Even the God of Thunder himself has moments where he gets a little starstruck. In his latest project, he admits he was actually nervous about working alongside one specific Hollywood legend. Yep, even superheroes get intimidated sometimes.

Chris Hemsworth and Halle Berry spoke about their experience working together on Crime 101 during their appearance at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, where Amazon MGM Studios promoted the upcoming heist thriller.
In a red carpet interview, Hemsworth said he approached the project with a sense of unease, citing Berry’s long-standing career and on-screen presence. “I’ve admired Halle’s work for many, many years,” Hemsworth said. “I was obviously very intimidated to sit opposite her within a scene and try and, you know, not just be in awe of what she was doing.”

With 2025 marking 23 years since Hollywood legend Halle Berry received her historic Best Actress Oscar, she admits she's "tired" of being the only Black Woman to receive the accolade. While she's grateful to have "opened that door," the acclaimed actor desperately wants another Black female to win the Academy Awards' top prize.
Speaking on Trevor Noah's What Now? podcast (via People), Berry delved into her Oscar win for her performance in Monster's Ball and what her victory means decades later. Though Berry remains grateful to have made history at the Academy Awards, she hopes Wicked's Cynthia Erivo ends the long wait for a Black Best Actress winner as she doesn't want to be "occupying that space alone" anymore. "I hope this year someone stands next to me,” Berry said. “This year, I hope it happens because I'm tired of occupying that space alone.”

For the last four years, James Bond fans have been hunting for any sign that a new Bond movie was gaining momentum following the exit of lead Daniel Craig. Thursday’s news that Amazon had struck a deal with Bond rights holders Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson to seize creative control of the franchise means the longtime boggy stalemate between the two parties is over, and the new Bond will assuredly move forward.
So why are so many acting like Amazon just beat the living daylights out of 007?
Best-selling author Don Winslow wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Absolutely heartbreaking. The End of an era.” FilmSpeak critic Griffin Schiller opined, “This is quite possibly the Worst thing to happen to this franchise…. It’ll be milked dry.” Predicted another, “Amazon is going to scrape the barrel here and be as shameless as possible.” Plenty of others have written: “Rip James Bond.

Bruce Fischer, the husband of Sen. Deb Fischer (R-Nebraska), has been criticized on social media for refusing to shake Vice President Kamala Harris‘ hand during his wife’s swearing-in ceremony.
During the ceremony, Harris administered the oath to Deb as the Nebraska senator’s hand was rested on the Bible. She then shook her hand, congratulated her, and thanked her for her work.
The vice president, who was beaten by Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election, then extended a handshake to Bruce while congratulating him. He told her “thank you” and refused to give her his hand back, causing her to awkwardly turn toward the camera and smile with Deb and her husband for a photograph.
Even though other angles of this moment show Bruce’s right hand, often used for handshakes, being used to grip his cane, users on X criticized the senator’s husband for refusing to shake Harris’ hand.

Having appeared in Marvels Eternals, had a very brief appearance as Joker in The Batman, and licked a bath plughole in ways we dont want to think about in Saltburn, the actors new movie, Bring Them Down, has just released a blood-soaked and brutal look at his violent revenge thriller.
Movies set in rural farming environments dont usually lend themselves to the world of tense thrillers, but Bring Them Down appears to be breaking away from the idea of flat-caps and shepherds in Christopher Andrews directorial debut, which also stars Poor Things Christopher Abbott. The movie centers on Abbotts character of Michael, who is the last son of a farming family living with his angry and cantankerous father, Ray. While hiding a secret from his past, Michael is caught in a conflict with another local farming family,...

When talking about Pulp Fiction 30 years later, Bruce Willis’ performance is not something that immediately comes up in discussions. Willis’s character Butch was one of the more conventional characters in the film, which was filled with image-breaking performances. However, Willis’ stardom gave a significant boost to the film at the time of its making.

Interestingly, Willis was not a name that Quentin Tarantino ever had in mind for the role. It was Harvey Keitel, who played the role of Winston Wolfe, who introduced the Die Hard actor to Tarantino. At the time, Willis was one of the only A-listers among the cast.

The American actor has been praised for his dedication to performance, with around 40 nominations in the last 14 years, and Butler has recently won a BAFTA and a Golden...

Luca Guadagnino’s “Challengers” follow-up transports audiences back in time.
Guadagnino’s “Queer,” written by “Challengers” screenwriter Justin Kuritzkes and adapted from William S. Burroughs’ 1985-published novella, stars Daniel Craig as an American expat and war veteran who begins a romance with a younger man (Drew Starkey). The film, as expected, will debut in competition at the 2024 Venice Film Festival, and of today’s surprises was the confirmed casting of pop star Omar Apollo with a top-billed role in the film.
“Queer” follows William Lee (Craig), now in his late 40s and in 1940s Mexico City, reminiscing about his past life among American expatriate college students and barkeeps eking out their own living on part-time jobs and GI benefits. Lee ends up chasing a young student named Eugene Allerton. For his novella, “Naked Lunch” writer Burroughs allegedly based the Allerton character on a man named Adelbert Lewis Marker, a discharged...

Add one of America’s most political filmmakers to the list of those calling for Joe Biden to step aside as the Democratic candidate for president.
Oscar-winner Michael Moore published a piece on his website asking the president not to “let your enablers hound you into doing what your body is begging you not to do.”
Then on his podcast, Moore called letting Biden go out on the debate stage last week “the cruelest form of elder abuse I’ve ever been forced to watch…Who would send an 81-year-old out onto any stage to debate a living monster at nine o’clock at night for a brawl that would not end until 10:42 p.m.?”
He then begged the president, “Let the doctors examine you. Then do the right thing.”
Moore’s suggestion for a replacement? Vice President Kamala Harris.
“Be the one who not only stopped Trump, but...

Last year, a bidding war was going down between Netflix and Amazon for a lucrative package deal. The two streaming giants were in a fight to acquire the film rights to the novella by Don Winslow called Crime 101. The package deal had included two attached stars — Chris Hemsworth and Pedro Pascal. Although, Pascal has now reportedly been replaced by Mark Ruffalo. It also has a director set to helm the project with Bart Layton, whose credits include the documentary The Imposter from 2012 and American Animals from 2018. Amazon had come out as the victor and according to Deadline, Saltburn and Masters of the Air star Barry Keoghan will now join the heist film.
