It would be fair to say that music biopics are very much in vogue right now. From Bob Dylan (A Complete Unknown) to Bob Marley (One Love), Amy Winehouse (Back To Black) to Robbie Williams (Better Man), and very soon The Beatles too, Hollywood is — for lack of a better phrase — hung up on telling singers' stories. All of which is to say that the only surprising thing about today's news, coming from Deadline, that Netflix is partnering with Queen of Pop Madonna to make a four-part limited series chronicling the 'Beautiful Stranger' songsmith's life and career is that it hasn't happened sooner.
Back in 2020, we first reported that her Madgesty was planning to co-write and direct her own biopic, then envisioned as a feature team-up with Juno scribe Diablo Cody. But after learning in 2022 that three-time Emmy winning Ozark star Julia Garner had beaten out the likes of Florence Pugh...

10 Things I Hate About You director Gil Junger discusses plans for a new trilogy with a follow-up in development. 10 Things I Hate About You director Gil Junger has revealed that an entirely new trilogy of follow-ups is in development.
According to a new report, we could be in line to get a whole slew of projects following up on the classic 1999 rom-com, 10 Things I Hate About You.
Loosely based on William Shakespeare’s play The Taming Of The Shrew about a warring would-be couple, the 1999 film starred Julia Stiles and the late Heath Ledger. It retooled the play’s basic set-up into a classic American high school formula, with the teenage protagonists running afoul of each other at house parties, the football field and more, cleverly folding Shakespeare’s set-ups into genre conventions that we all know and love.
Gil Junger, the original film’s director, has revealed to People that over a quarter of a century later, the concept is being reimagined once more, with a trilogy being planned this time.

This article contains spoilers for "Severance."
Praise Kier! Dichen Lachman is finally getting her time in the spotlight. Like so many other Australian actors that ultimately made the jump to Hollywood, Lachman cut her teeth on the perennial Aussie soap opera "Neighbors." Yet, despite having since become a prolific veteran of American television, she's been curiously wasted in blink-and-you'll-miss-them roles in tentpoles like "Jurassic World Dominion" and "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes." Thankfully, that's not the case with "Severance," Dan Erickson's engrossingly trippy sci-fi series about modern corporations and their never-ending search for new ways to exploit their workers.
Speaking of the devil, the nefarious biotech giant Lumon Industries and its "severing" tech took on whole new shades of disturbing in "Severance" season 2, especially when it came to Lachman's character ... or, should we say, characters. As you may recall, the actor made her debut on the series as Ms.

Westworld went on a weird wild journey: when the show premiered in 2016, it was a mega-hit for HBO, a twisty sci-fi story about artificially intelligent robots that threaten humanity. But the show kind of petered out over the course of the next few years, and HBO cancelled it before a planned fifth and final season.
Weirdly, Westworld was cancelled literally the year before ChatGPT came out and got everyone talking about generative AI, which you figure may have restored interest in the project. Aaron Paul, who was introduced in the third season as Caleb Nichols, is still holding out hope that they may get to make that final season one day.
"I do have kind of a sense, and there is a world where maybe we get to tell the rest of that story," Paul said at SXSW, per Collider. "I'm not going to say anything, but give it time.

Fans were a little disappointed when Westworld was cancelled after Season 4. However, Aaron Paul, who joined the show as Caleb Nichols in Season 3, says a fifth installment might still be on the cards.
Although the Westworld creators had a story planned for Season 5, HBO pulled the entire series from its Max streaming platform after the show was cancelled. Despite the bleak move, Paul remains optimistic. "I'm still holding out [hope]. I have the very, very broad strokes," the actor told ComicBook. "[Series co-creator Jonathan Nolan] filled me in a little bit. We're still plotting to maybe do something, I don't want to get anyone's hopes up, but we really do want to have a full circle moment with that. So we'll see."

Aaron Paul, who joined HBO's hit series Westworldin season 3, still hopes for a final season despite the series' cancellation. In 2022, HBO cancelled the Western series abruptly after season 4 due to declining ratings, leaving the series ending on an ambiguous note with plenty of unanswered questions about the oncoming human extinction. The Breaking Bad star plays Caleb Nichols, a war veteran and blue-collar worker infected by the flies at the Delos labs.
In an interview with Collider, Paul expresses his hope for Westwold's return. While trying not to spoil too much, the actor reveals that he's still "holding onto the idea" that the series will receive a proper ending. He shares that he knows where the story goes, and "it's really cool," and urges fans to wait out a little and see. Check out what he said below:

While Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s ongoing legal battle has largely been contained to legal documents and internet chatter, the public feud spilled into the streets of Austin, Texas on Friday evening. One fervent Justin Baldoni supporter demonstrated outside the Paramount Theater ahead of the premiere of Lively’s new film “Another Simple Favor,” which marks the opening night screening for the town’s annual SXSW festival gathering.

Brady Corbet is proving himself to be one of the most popular voices in independent cinema. His new film, The Brutalist, has earned praise from critics and recognition from the Academy. The period drama showing a Hungarian architect in post-war America establishes Corbet as someone who takes financial risks to explore big themes.
With a rare career journey from acting in Thirteen and Mysterious Skin to the very unique directing debut on The Childhood of a Leader, Corbet’s vision has allowed him to receive various prestigious awards, like the Silver Lion of the Venice International Film Festival and Best Director Award at the Golden Globes, for The Brutalist.

However, Corbet’s situation landed him in the headlines again and also raised some talks about his financial situation within the industry as he surprisingly stated that he got nothing out of The Brutalist.

It was Rat Pack Night on The Masked Singer season 13, episode 3. It was also the Group A finals, which would mean one more celebrity would be unmasked.
Caution: This post contains Spoilers for The Masked Singer season 13, episode 3.
The group finals are always a big moment. We get potential double eliminations, unless the panelists decide to save one of them, and a Battle Royale for one of the singers to stay on. This final was a little different, though. Instead of a double elimination as in more recent seasons, the show went back to its original routes and two would go through to the Final Six.
Ant, Coral, and Papparazzo sang their hearts out in an attempt to get through to the next stage to go up against the finalists of other groups. They sang a variety of Rat Pack songs, putting their own styles on the songs.

One of the hottest TV shows on right now is Severance. The Apple TV+ drama has become a critical darling and fan favorite thanks to its unique setup. It revolves around the employees of a mysterious corporation who endure the daily grind of a soulless office job. The twist is that whenever they leave the office, they completely forget who they were and what they were doing. As their two personas blur, they have to figure out the truth about their double lives.
It's fascinating to watch actors change their "innie" to "outie" characters. Severance is mainly a drama, but it also sneaks in a lot of humor as it satirizes the bleakness of modern corporate life.
There are a lot of shows and movies like Severance out there. If you love Severance, you have to try these 10 shows and five movies with the same style and feel.

It's become a fun pub trivia act to be able to rattle off the legion of beloved performers who got their start on the big screen by acting in horror movies. It's less common, however, to learn about actors famous for their roles in horror films pivoting to directing and nabbing an Academy Award nomination for Best Director in the process. But that's precisely what happened with Brady Corbet, the director behind one of the frontrunners for Best Picture (at the time of writing) and a film that /Film's Chris Evangelista called "an overwhelming triumph" in his review, "The Brutalist."
Corbet, for those not familiar, made his feature directorial debut in 2015 with "The Childhood of a Leader." Loosely adapted from Jean-Paul Sartre's short story of the same name, the film centers on an American boy living in France with his authoritarian parents during the Treaty of Versailles and explores...

One of the most crucial elements of a movie is making the audience feel affected by its ending. The best conclusions in cinema are the ones that have a grand sense of ambiguity, or the idea that things are left open to further interpretation. While movies traditionally leave things on closed notes, many have taken risks and given viewers endings that either don't completely answer everything or end things abruptly in a good way.
These movie endings have become legendary because of their shocking cuts to black, haunting final shots, or other factors that cause audiences to become speechless. Even though many questions are raised, viewers get the chance to piece things together and find an understanding of what the ending means. Between Inception,American Psycho, and The Thing, these movies and their final moments are made better by the ambiguity applied to them.

HBO’s Westworld had a record viewership in its debut season before plummeting into a complete disaster over the last two seasons. The series was set at the titular futuristic theme park, where human guests indulged in their wildest fantasies without fear of retaliation from android hosts. James Marsden played one of the hosts, Teddy Flood, who was designed as a romantic hero by the creators, Delos Inc.

While the ensemble cast in the first season of the show received widespread acclaim, one of the overlooked performances was that of Marsden. However, fans now largely recognize that the good-natured cowboy design of Marsden’s character was a genius move from Westworld makers.

The 2003 indie drama "Thirteen" was widely acclaimed upon release while elevating the careers of filmmaker Catherine Hardwicke (who was paid just $13 for the job) and actors Evan Rachel Wood and Nikki Reed. "Thirteen" was lauded for its searing, contemporary depiction of the lives of impressionable American teenagers. For those looking for movies tackling similar subject matter and themes, there is no shortage of teen coming-of-age dramas. From triumphs to tragedies, plenty of movies have explored the everyday life of American teenagers, both preceding "Thirteen" and released in the 2003 film's wake.
From dramedies to tonally uncompromising dramas, those pivotal teenage years are ripe for cinematic exploration. Even the comedies on this coming-of-age list don't shy away from the heavier parts of the teenage experience, including illegal drug use, mental health concerns, and teen pregnancy. Simply put, growing up can be a grueling ordeal, and these movies find the heartbreak and humor...

“We recognize and applaud the courage and resilience of the women who came forward to make reports and share their experiences,” the Da’s office said in a statement.

Evan Rachel Wood has responded to news that Marilyn Manson won't face domestic abuse and sexual assault charges following a four-year investigation. Manson (real name Brian Warner) and Wood were romantically involved from 2007 to 2010, becoming engaged before breaking up. In 2021, Wood publicly accused Manson of sexual assault, psychological abuse, and physical abuse, with more than another dozen women following suit. For the last four years, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office has been investigating allegations against the musician (details surrounding the investigation - and precisely what allegations it focused on - have not been made public).
On Friday, January 24, District Attorney Nathan J. Frozen 2 could have ended up a childhood trauma scar for a generation of kids on the level of Bambi's mom if some key details had stayed in the picture. According to Olaf actor, Josh Gad, his character's death scene in the original script was so brutal, it left kids in the test screenings "fully traumatized." Which is...not exactly what Disney was looking for in the follow-up to the juggernaut first film.
According to Entertainment Weekly, however, that's what they nearly got. In his newly released memoir, In Gad We Trust, the actor explains that in the "truly stunning," "first version [of the death], Olaf himself was scared and confused by what was happening." Their "commitment to the brutality of Olaf's naïveté about all things," he explained, "made our intended audience scared for Olaf, rather than emotional."
Imagine coming in to film Frozen 2 and your first day at work is recording this death scene?...

Channel 4’s Marilyn Manson: Unmasked ep 1 aired to 350,000 viewers last night and featured claims from both Wood, who has previously accused Manson of abuse, and the response from the singer’s team.
“I felt so fucking violated. But I didn’t call it rape for like many many years,” the Westworld star says in ep 2, which is available on Channel 4’s streaming service, and is produced by Lightbox and sold by Fifth Season.
Wood spoke in depth about her experience working on the 2007 music video for Manson’s hit ‘Heart-Shaped Glasses’.

This article discusses drug use by young characters and self-harm.
Growing up is tough enough, but it's even harder for some girls when they turn 13. It's a tough age, since the gap between being a kid and a teenager starts to blur, and many are left with an identity crisis as a result. Some girls are influenced by others when it comes to how to dress and behave. Tracy Freeland (Evan Rachel Wood) is easily led astray by peer pressure in the controversial drama, Thirteen. She idolizes a manipulative girl named Evie Zamora (Nikki Reed) who encourages her to grow up way too fast. Evie shows Tracy a world beyond stuffed animals and straight A's, one that involves drugs, alcohol, and sex.
Thirteen doesn't hold back with raw realism. In fact, the star of the movie, Nikki Reed, who is best known for starring as Rosalie in the Twilight series,...

The embattled Marilyn Manson celebrated his 56th birthday on January 5th with a party attended by The Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan and James Iha, Filter’s Richard Patrick, Falling in Reverse’s Ronnie Radke, and Mötley Crüe’s John 5, among others.
Photos and videos from the evening posted by Manson associate Vanessa Alexandra on Instagram, as well as the Ig account marilynmanson.gallery, show the shock rocker’s fellow rock stars in attendance. In one of the videos, a large group of partygoers sing “Happy Birthday” to Manson, who tells the crowd that he’s also celebrating four years of sobriety.
Interestingly, Corgan and Manson were in a long-running feud after Manson told the Smashing Pumpkins frontman that he looked like Charlie Brown. However, they settled their differences in 2014 when they performed together onstage.
Also worth noting is that James Iha and Manson are brothers-in-law, as they are married...

But I can’t write that to him.” Nathan seemingly knows the takedown protocol well. She previously worked for Johnny Depp during his defamation trial against Amber Heard.
