In recent years, Netflix has made a lot of changes to its standard operating procedures, and one that is becoming increasingly part of its release plans is breaking up series into blocks. The world’s largest streaming service will release the second half of “Bridgerton” Season 3 in June looking to capitalize on the success of the first four episodes that were released last month. Also coming to the streaming giant this month will be the final season of fantasy drama series “Sweet Tooth,” the Glen Powell-led action comedy “The Hitman” and much more.
Netflix offers three different subscription options, on the low end is the Standard With Ads option for just $6.99 per month. However, if you prefer your streaming without commercial interruptions, you can opt for the Standard plan for $15.49 monthly or the Premium option for $22.99.

Over the course of the two-minute look at the upcoming episodes, Eloise (Claudia Jessie) struggles with the news that her brother and former best friend are engaged, considering she knows Pen’s big Whistledown secret and Colin does not. After keeping loyal readers waiting for two years, Lady Whistledown finally made her return in season three of Netflix’s smash hit regency romance ‘Bridgerton.’ Each season follows the love story of one of the Bridgerton children, based on the eight-book series by Julia Quinn. The title ‘Bridgerton’ has become synonymous with steaminess and scandal, with the first season being labeled as a “bodice ripper” with many passionate love scenes between its leads, Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) and Simon (Regé-Jean Page). Season two lightened up a bit with the enemies-to-lovers arc between the eldest Bridgerton son, Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) and Kate (Simone Ashley), the sister of his betrothed. So, where does season three lie? It seems to be too soon to say. Only the first four episodes of ‘Bridgerton’ season three dropped on May 16, with the second half coming almost a month later on June 13. Wallflower Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlin) is...

Sylvester Stallone is known for his Rocky films, a franchise in Hollywood that remains one of the most influential pieces of cinema. However, Stallone has starred in some lesser-known offerings, that are nonetheless brilliant and engaging, if not a completely different genre from what the actor is used to.

With new cast additions every season, Polly Walker is one of Bridgerton’s top series regulars. The English actress has portrayed the matriarch of the Featherington family, Lady Portia Featherington, since season 1. As neighbors to the Bridgertons, Lady Featherington has been in a one-sided competition to rub shoulders with the Ton’s elites. However, as more Bridgerton seasons are released, Lady Featherington is better understood as someone dedicated to furthering the legacy of the Featherington family and its financial position and respect. While the character slowly rises as a fan favorite, it is the actress behind the character that has captivated

Veteran English actress Polly Walker has starred in several movies and TV shows in her career. Also, like most English actors, Polly Walker began in theater and has a few stage credits. Polly Walker has worked more on television than in movies in the last decade. She last starred in a movie in 2012, playing Sarkoja in John Carter. Two years earlier, she briefly portrayed Cassiopeia in Clash of the Titans. One of the best things about Bridgerton is that the show rarely repeats itself. Just as Julia Quinn's book series, on which the show is based, explored a different love story in each novel, the show does the same with its seasons. Starting with Daphne Bridgeton, moving on to Anthony, and then Colin, it also introduces viewers to different romance tropes.
While the novel format allowed the story to revolve around one couple and follow them every moment, the TV show has to include the ensemble to expand the world and make the story feel as realistic as possible. However, it wasn't until season 3 that the show found the perfect balance between the main characters and all the subplots.
Is Bridgerton Season 3 Good?
So far, viewers have only seen the first 4 episodes of the third season of Bridgerton, but the majority of viewers were very pleased with what they saw.

Dearest readers: It’s Bridgerton Week at IndieWire. We’re celebrating the new season by diving deep on one of the best romance shows on TV.
Lady Whistledown’s innovation among the scandal sheets is that she uses people’s names to dish about marriage-mart gossip. But the “Bridgerton” costume department has had quite a novel innovation on an old form, too, and one we deem worthy of celebration.
How we feel about old-timey clothes is influenced by an intuitive set of conventions that reflect our contemporary fashion tastes. A costume designer’s choice of color, silhouette (the outline or shape of a garment), fabric, and texture all work to tell us who is conceited, who is shy, and who is, as Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel) would put it, a sparkler.
But if one looks at costumes from Regency romances 10 or 15 years before “Bridgerton” first aired in 2020 — your “Pride & Prejudice...

It’s officially “Bridgerton” Season, which means brushing up on all the gossip in the ton as the Netflix hit returns. Who fought, who won, who got married, and who will take a wife? All this and more will matter greatly when the Shondaland series premieres on May 16, with Part 2 due in June.
Season 3 will focus on the courtship of Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) — a.k.a. Lady Whistledown, one of the slight complications in these two’s friends-to-lovers journey. Ahead of that, let’s revisit key Season 2 plot points that could play a key role in Season 3…

Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton entering into a unique arrangement, J.Lo fighting evil artificial intelligence, the roasting of an NFL legend, a retelling of the invention of the Pop Tart, Brooke Shields and Benjamin Bratt at war and John Mulaney’s six-night live comedy event from Los Angeles are some of the big titles hitting Netflix in May.
Debuting on May 3 is Jerry Seinfeld’s directorial debut, Unfrosted. The comedy legend works both sides of the camera for this humorous feature take on the birth of the Pop Tart. The movie is set in 1963 as breakfast cereal giants Kellogg’s and Post compete to become the first company to create a morning pastry. Melissa McCarthy, Jim Gaffigan and Amy Schumer also star, with Hugh Grant more than likely to steal the whole film with a turn as Tony the Tiger.

Sylvester Stallone allegedly had a bad rap among the directors of his earlier movies, who complained that the actor took control over some of their creative decisions. This reputation made one director not want to work with him, despite the First Blood actor expressing interest in the role. Jim Gillespie finally had to give up his premonitions, as the studio could find no other A-listers except Stallone for the role in 2002’s D-Tox.
D-Tox director Jim Gillespie initially didn’t want Sylvester Stallone in his movie
Gillespie had his own vision for the psychological thriller film based on the novel Jitter Joint. Stallone’s lead character is a mentally tortured federal agent hunting down serial killers. However, things were not how Gillespie thought it would be.

Shōgun is one of the best beautiful and intense action drama series ever. Based on a 1975 novel of the same name by James Clavell, the FX series is adapted for television by Rachel Kondo and Justin Marks. Set in the year 1600 in Japan, the historical series follows the story of Lord Yoshii Toranaga as enemies unite and come to take his life, but he sees an opportunity when a mysterious European ship is found marooned in a village nearby. Shōgun has a brilliant ensemble cast including Hiroyuki Sanada, Cosmo Jarvis, Anna Sawai, Néstor Carbonell, and Fumi Nikaido. So, if you loved the beautiful imagery and ruthless action of Shōgun, then you should check out these shows next.

Polin season gets underway on Bridgerton when the series returns in May, and Netflix has dropped quite the teaser to tide us over.
We’re unsure whether the clip was released to celebrate Valentine’s Day, but before you get too excited, there’s a severe lack of romance. That isn’t very Bridgerton of you, Netflix.
Instead, we see Colin (Luke Newton) getting an icy reception from Penelope (Nicola Coughlan).
The reason?
Penelope overheard the man she’d been pining for telling everyone he’d never court her.
So, she’s shocked when he dares to say he now misses her.
Penelope is done with Colin the Bridgerton Season 3 teaser
“You miss me, but you would never court me. Is that correct?” she wondered before telling him she had heard everything he said about her.
To her bewilderment, he wants to take the exchange away from the public’s prying eyes.

Netflix debuted a one-minute clip from Bridgerton season three during a special fan event featuring the cast, showrunner Jess Brownell, executive producer Shonda Rhimes, and author Julia Quinn. The clip, which was brought online immediately following the event, focuses on the prickly relationship between Penelope and Colin at the beginning of the long-awaited new season.
During the spoiler-free event, Rhimes said she’s most excited that this new season features a love story between characters we already know and root for. She also teased that a lot of characters will be finding themselves in new, interesting situations.
“Colin and Penelope are underdogs in many ways…we get to see these characters step into their power this year, which I think will make a lot of people who have ever had an unrequited crush or felt like an underdog before feel very seen,” added Jess Brownell.

Netflix has debuted a new batch of first-look images of Penelope and Colin’s budding romance in season 3 of ‘Bridgerton.’
Season 3 will be based on ‘Romancing Mister Bridgerton,’ the fourth book in Julia Quinn’s series. The third season finds Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) finally giving up on her long-held crush on Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) after hearing his disparaging words about her last season. She has, however, decided it’s time to take a husband, preferably one who will provide her with enough independence to continue her double life as Lady Whistledown, far away from her mother and sisters.
But lacking in confidence, Penelope’s attempts on the marriage mart fail spectacularly. Meanwhile, Colin has returned from his summer travels with a new look and a serious sense of swagger. But he’s disheartened to realize that Penelope, the one person who always appreciated him as he was, is giving him the cold shoulder.

Ready for another rendezvous with the ton?
“Bridgerton” is returning to Netflix in 2024, with the third season of the period drama waltzing onto streaming in two parts. The first four episodes will premiere on May 16, and the next four will be available to stream on June 13.
Along with the announcement, Netflix released a video stitching together previously seen footage with TikToks and social media posts from fans eager to revisit the upper crust of Regency-era London.
The Shondaland series will jump right into Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton’s (Luke Newton) romance in Season 3, diverting from the Julia Quinn books it’s based on. Meanwhile, Penelope will have to deal with her rift with Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie), who, according to Netflix’s description, has found a new friend in an unlikely place. With a growing presence in the ton, Penelope is challenged with keeping her Lady Whistledown alter ego under wraps.

In the very early days of prestige television, a series appeared (some say it began the prestige era) that gave us a glimpse of what the future would hold. That series was "Rome," the story of the rise and fall of Julius Caesar (Ciarán Hinds) and the romance and death of Mark Antony (James Purefoy) and Cleopatra (Lyndsey Marshal). The series was gorgeous and full of rich historical detail, and the performances were spectacular.
The series, which ran from 2005-2007, came to us from John Milius, William J. MacDonald, and Bruno Heller. It nabbed talented actors like Hinds, Purefoy, Marshal, Lindsay Duncan, Polly Walker, Tobias Menzies, Kevin McKidd, and the late Ray Stevenson. It won a Director's Guild award, seven Primetime Emmy Awards, and quite a number of others.
The sets were stunning and actually existed in the world, in the historic Cinecittà Studios, right in Rome, from the Forum...

If there was ever an actor worthy of the distinction of "America's Sweetheart," it's Meg Ryan, who has been appearing in films since 1981. Effortlessly charming and with an often easygoing magnetism whenever she's on-screen, Ryan channels her natural talents effectively in romantic comedies and family-friendly fare. However, Ryan also possesses a much wider range than many give her credit for, delivering solid work in military dramas and character studies while occasionally branching out into hard science-fiction and fantasy.
Despite performing in dozens of film roles over the past 40-plus years, Ryan is one of her generation's more underrated actors. In fact, though millions of moviegoers adore her and her work, Ryan has yet to earn an Academy Award nomination of any kind. With that in mind, here are the 14 best Meg Ryan movies spanning her feature film career so far.

Before "Game of Thrones" took the world by storm with its compelling visuals, extravagant locations, expansive scope, and impressive production value, there was another epic series from HBO that charmed viewers. "Rome" is a historical drama series seen through the lens of two war heroes. Set in the 1st Century BC, it focuses on the events that led to the rise of the Roman Empire following the dismantling of the Roman Republic. The show features a sprawling cast of characters (many of which are based on actual figures from historical records) and vividly depicts life, politics, and warfare in ancient Rome.
The show ran for two seasons in 2005 and 2007, and like "Game of Thrones," it had a massive production budget that cost HBO a lot of money. It was, in fact, much costlier to make than its fantasy successor. And it didn't even have dragons!
Why Rome Was So Expensive To Make

(Welcome to The Daily Stream, an ongoing series in which the /Film team shares what they've been watching, why it's worth checking out, and where you can stream it.)
The Series: "Rome"
Where You Can Stream It: HBO Max
The Pitch: Ah, what could and should have been. Back in 2005, which is exactly 1000 years ago in the post-pandemic reckoning, HBO pretty much began the era of very expensive, prestige television with the TV series "Rome." This was before streaming and the rise (and fall) of many services with a whole lot of money to burn. "Rome" was incredibly expensive, but it was so good that fans clamored for more. There were supposed to be five seasons, though we only got the first wonderful one and a second, very rushed (but still good) season. Think of it this way; "Rome" had to walk (and get canceled early) so that "House of the Dragon...

Well, another Bridgerton sibling has found their happily ever after. But where does that leave the rest of the Regency-era family?
Following the jaw-dropping Season 2 “Bridgerton” finale, we can’t help but wonder which sibling will feel the sting (See what we did there?) of love come Season 3.
[Editor’s Note: A spoiler alert, of sorts. The below recaps the book “An Offer From A Gentleman,” which will reportedly be the inspiration for Season 3.]
1. Where Did Season 2 Leave Off?
The eight-episode second season concluded with Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) reveling in bliss with Kate (Simone Ashley). Yet things proved to be a little more dramatic for his sister, Eloise (Claudia Jessie), who finally figured out that her best friend Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) is behind the salacious Lady Whistledown gossip rag. Eloise’s secret friendship with printer assistant Theo (Calam Lynch) was also shattered, and while we’ll have to wait until the fifth season — per the order of Julia Quinn’s novels on which the Shonda Rhimes-produced series is based — to see Eloise find love,...

It’s not easy being a member of the Featherington flock in “Bridgerton.”
Their gambling addicted father was murdered and left them with very little in their coffers at the end of Season 1. Their mother, Lady Portia, is one of the pushiest mamas in the ton (who dresses her girls like citrus fruit baskets each and every season). And, after several years on the marriage mart, only one of the young ladies – middle sister Philipa – has met a suitable match.
Still, eldest daughter Prudence Featherington, played by Bessie Carter, keeps at it, trying her best to land a husband, even if in Season 2 that meant being forced into an engagement with her cousin (we assume several times removed) Jack after Portia “caught” the two unchaperoned in an orangery. Scandal? Pish posh!
“I don’t even think she cares,” Carter tells TheWrap of how her character Prudence would look at any ton outcry over the incident.

With Daphne Basset (Phoebe Dynevor) now engrossed in her duties as the Duchess of Hastings, and her husband offscreen for the foreseeable future — fare thee well, Regé-Jean Page — the Ton’s inquiring gaze must inevitably turn to more current prospects. Yes, Bridgerton is back, and with it the debut of a new social season, along with a fresh crop of marriageable lords and ladies. Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel) would never forgo the opportunity to anoint a Diamond who shines brighter than the rest, of course. But behind the glitter and whirl,...

This Bridgerton review contains spoilers.
Bridgerton season 2 returns to Netflix today with a new Bridgerton sibling’s quest to make a suitable marriage match. Season 2 improves on season 1 by shifting the show to an ensemble-based narrative which is essential for building the conflicts and relationships for future seasons. The central relationship dynamic combining the enemies-to-lovers and love triangle romance fiction tropes equally satisfies series readers and show-only fans alike. Bridgerton once again takes the necessary stance that people of color deserve to be represented in alternate historical fiction and escapist historical fiction.
Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) has been Viscount Bridgerton ever since his father died of a bee sting when he was 18. He spent most of last season guiding his sister Daphne (Phoebe Dyvenor) through the marriage market while avoiding settling down. Anthony has now decided he’s finally ready to stop the revolving door of mistresses and one-night stands and find a wife.
