Marilyn Manson is facing a lawsuit filed by a woman who claims that the singer sexually assaulted her in 1995, when she was 16, and later when she was an adult.
The lawsuit, filed in New York Supreme Court on Monday (read it here), comes a week after a settlement was reached in a lawsuit brought by Game of Thrones actress Esmé Bianco, who had filed suit claiming that Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, sexually assaulted her.
The New York lawsuit was filed by a Jane Doe, which her attorneys wrote that they used to protect the woman’s privacy as a victim of sexual assault. The lawsuit also names as defendants Interscope Music Publishing and Nothing Records, accused of being aware of Manson’s conduct.
“As a result of Brian Warner’s sexual abuse and assault, enabled and encouraged by Defendants Interscope and Nothing Records, Plaintiff has suffered severe emotional,...

Marilyn Manson allegedly groomed and sexually assaulted an underage girl multiple times in the 1990s, according to a new lawsuit. This is the first suit to focus on sex crimes that allegedly took place in the beginning of Manson’s career, while those who have previously sued the singer all accused him of sexual misconduct around 2010.

Nine Inch Nails were finally able to celebrate their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction this weekend in their native Cleveland, which included a Saturday night concert that featured the return of several former members from the band’s Pretty Hate Machine era.
Although Trent Reznor and company were inducted into the Rock Hall in 2020, the event was scaled down to a television-only special due to the Covid-19 pandemic; a Cleveland celebration was then scheduled for 2021, only to be postponed again. Two years removed from the induction, the band...

Trent Reznor reflected on Nine Inch Nails’ past and looked forward to their future in his speech marking the band’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Following an introduction from Iggy Pop, the frontman opened by acknowledging the surreal nature of this year’s virtual event. He said when he found out Nine Inch Nails had been selected for the class of 2020, the thing he was most looking forward to was getting together with bandmates past and present at the ceremony. The theme of Code Orange’s new video for “Underneath” — the pummeling yet catchy title track off their upcoming LP — is total confusion.
Singer-guitarist Reba Meyers sings in a padded room. Keyboardist Eric “Shade” Balderose looks like a mad scientist. Bassist Joe Goldman is chained to a wall. The backdrop? Walls made of aluminum foil, cellophane-covered synchronized dancers and a burnt man crawling through tar.
This all unfolds as Meyers sings about how facing obstacles head on is the only way to overcome them and drummer-vocalist Jami Morgan screams about judging a generation.

It's been way too long since we last got dosed with the pitch-black sonic evil of extreme industrial metallers Psyclon Nine in the form of their 2009 studio album We the Fallen (check out our review here), and after a couple years of silence I feared they might drop off the map completely. They eventually resurfaced for some new live performances, including co-headlining shows with kindred evil spirits Dawn of Ashes, and frontman Nero Bellum contributed guest vocals to DoA's latest album Anathema. At last, Nero and company returned to the studio to tackle the ambitiously epic follow-up Order of the Shadow: Act I. According to an August interview with Nero in ReGen Magazine, this record is intended to be the band's final full-length release – and while that's very sad news to long-time fans like myself, the pure naked insanity bottled in these tracks makes for a suitably apocalyptic finale...

Although he's most famously known as the drummer for iconic masked metallers Slipknot, Joey Jordison has also been a regular FEARnet favorite thanks to his many macabre side projects – including a stretch on the road with Rob Zombie and the reunion of legendary shock-rock unit Murderdolls, which he reanimated a few years ago with co-founder Wednesday 13. Jordison is still active with Slipknot, of course, but during a lengthy offline period (partly due to the death of bassist Paul Gray in 2010), he turned his creative energies from that band and focused instead on forming the industrial-metal supergroup Scar The Martyr – who have just unleashed their mammoth self-titled debut album. “I was working on new Slipknot material but I had to shelve it and wait until we all know we’re getting back together,” says Jordison. “But I couldn’t stop writing! I stayed in the studio because I had so many...

When listing game designers that have their unique spin put into their products, a few names pop to mind, such as Suda 51, David Cage, and of course American McGee. Famous for American McGee’s Alice and its sequel, Alice: Madness Returns, McGee’s twisted version of Wonderland has taken gamers on some of the most disturbing rides of their lives. Despite the many interpretations of Lewis Carroll’s initial novel, McGee’s remains the most inspired, twisting Wonderland into a world that resides somewhere within Alice’s head, corrupted by her insanity after a tragedy that leaves her without a family.
Recently, McGee and his development company, Spicy Horse, have begun to branch out into using Kickstarter to fund their future projects. Although OZombie, an adventure contained within a warped version of Oz, failed to reach its goal, a new campaign seeking to produce short films based on the...

Earlier this year, we got a haunting preview of the latest album by Italian electro-rock unit Army of the Universe, in the form of the Ep Until the End – featuring a guest vocal by Chibi of The Birthday Massacre and a chillingly sensual music video. The band has finally delivered the goods promised in that enticing peek, as The Hipster Sacrifice hits the streets today. Since their scary good 2011 debut Mother Ignorance, the lineup that began with internationally-acclaimed electronic music producer Albert “Trebla” Vorne, vocalist Lord Kalidon (Kult of the Skull God) and guitarist Dave Tavecchia has since added the legendary Chris Vrenna (Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, Tweaker) to their ranks as drummer. The result is a bigger, more dangerous sound built on the same tight and simple framework of old-school synths, heavy beats and knife-edged guitars, which leaves plenty of room for sonic experimentation – something they indulge frequently on this record.

Anthology film The Profane Exhibit has been in the works for some time now, but things are moving along with casting news for the wrap-around along with more detailed descriptions of the various segments and quotes from a few directors. It's a lot of good stuff so prepare to be here awhile.
From the Press Release:
The producers of “The Profane Exhibit” are excited to announce that both Tony Todd (pictured) and Bai Ling have join the long-awaited horror anthology. They will be featured in the cast of "22 Rue des Martyrs," written by Ray Garton, which serves as the film's wrap-around segment.
David Bond and Manda Manuel are the architects of what is likely the most daring independent horror film project to date, both in concept and scope. Assembling an almost surreal collection of over 100 horror icons (directors, writers, actors, musicians, etc.), Bond's vision is to present the audience with...

Our intense interest in the latest wave of electronic dance music is not just a passing fancy, because many artists from that genre have close ties to horror and science fiction (take Figure's Monsters of Drumstep, Blue Stahli's atom-smashing mashups and Blackburner's evil cyber-bunnies as just a few recent examples). It's a fact that electronic scores from the golden era of '80s horror have been a huge inspiration on many Edm musicians, DJs and producers... which leads me to today's featured artist, whose debut album The End is Only the Beginning arrives this summer with some major talent behind the scenes – including industrial music icon Chris Vrenna, drummer extraordinaire Josh Freese, and renowned producer Sean Beavan (Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson). Even with such iconic names attached to this project, Wvm's own wide range of talents is already impressive – he performs, writes, produces and programs virtually all of his music,...

Italian gothic electro-rockers Army of the Universe first burst into the spotlight with their superb debut album Mother Ignorance, which also featured the slick and sexy vampiric visuals of their video “Lovedead” (check out our review and the video here). That album served a rich and spicy dish of catchy hooks with a creepy, otherworldly atmosphere, and I was looking forward to big things from them on this side of the Atlantic. Their follow-up Ep is a major step in that direction: in addition to the band's core lineup of Edm producer Trebla, vocalist Lord K and guitarist Dave Tavecchia, the band now counts industrial music icon Chris Vrenna (who also co-produced Mother Ignorance and whose own band Tweaker scored an honorable mention on our Best Albums of 2012 list) among their official lineup, which is fantastic news in my book. The title track also features guest vocals from Chibi, lead...

There's not much we can announce just yet, but we can reveal that the album is currently being mixed by industrial music legend Chris Vrenna, whose latest Tweaker album Call the Time Eternity (check out the review here) is one of 2012's coolest dark-rock creations. La-based musical team kaRIN and Statik, better known as Collide, have been FEARnet faves for many years now, and it's no coincidence that their brand of spooky and sensual soundscapes has warmed the hearts and chilled the spines of horror fans through their contributions to films like Resident Evil: Extinction and The Covenant, and darkly-inclined music lovers in general through their collaborations with artists like Skinny Puppy, Tool and The Cure to name just a few. In fact, I recently heard kaRIN's silken voice on a track from Chris Vrenna's excellent new Tweaker album, which just dropped last week (read the review here). With all those irons in the fire, it's amazing they find the time to release new studio material on almost a yearly basis... and this year's record Bent and Broken is one of their most ambitious collaborative projects ever, funded almost entirely from kickstarter contributions and...

There's hardly a musician on my favorites list (or yours, probably) who hasn't crossed paths at some point with industrial rocker, drummer, programmer and producer Chris Vrenna at some point. Whether it's Nine Inch Nails, Slipknot, Marilyn Manson, David Bowie, Rammstein, Rob Zombie, Metallica, Lords of Acid or dozens of others, Vrenna's distinctive style has played a massive role in shaping the dark side of multiple music genres over the past couple of decades. Aside from his association with all those iconic names, Chris has also nurtured his own sonic brainchild – an eerie gothic entity known as Tweaker. The project actually dates back to the late '90s, when Chris was still drummer for Nine Inch Nails, but Tweaker solidified as a touring group in the mid-2000s, when Vrenna was joined by guitarist/keyboardist Clint Walsh. After the release of their 2004 album 2 Am Wakeup Call, the band toured with...

One of the most crucial elements of paranormal investigator Zak Bagans' hit series Ghost Adventures (which kicked off its seventh season last month) is the study of Electronic Voice Phenomenon (Evp), in which Zak uses his patented SP7 “Spirit Box” to capture spirit voices from various locations throughout his travels... often with hair-raising results. For a prime example, check out this chilling excerpt, where the SP7 records a possibly evil force... Since so much of Zak's research involves the intense study of sounds and voices (including recorded conversations between himself and unseen entities), it was only a matter of time before a musical experiment would emerge from this treasure trove of audio material. Erykah Badu has spent the last few days turning heads with her new video for "Window Seat," which shows the singer walking down the street in downtown Dallas (in the same area where John F. It's reminiscent of Matt and Kim's award-winning clip for "Lessons Learned," which saw the pair strip down in the middle of Times Square and which gets a shout-out at the top of Badu's clip.
Those two videos actually have more in common than just bare flesh, as they were both shot in a single take. The single-take video is always challenging but typically rewarding — especially when artists and directors get inventive with their concepts and presentation. Badu's clip immediately joins "Lessons Learned" and these other eight one-shot videos as the best ever made.
