Will Flora's findings turn the case on its head?
Now & Then Season 1 Episode 4 drops on Apple TV+ Friday, and TV Fanatic has an exclusive look ahead.
In the clip for the highly-anticipated outing, we see Flora in the year 2000, armed with some evidence that could change things considerably.
Sullivan is shocked by her arrival at his home because it's his day off, but when you're trying to find all the evidence involved, is there such a thing as a day off?
Flora's tenacity shines through the clip.
She's livid that this case has been covered up, and is dead set on getting the answers to prove what happened the fateful night the other characters desperately want to forget.
Set in Miami and shot in both Spanish and English, Now & Then stars an exceptional ensemble cast, including Academy Award nominees Marina de Tavira and Rosie Perez, and Ariel Award winner José María Yazpik.

Now & Then is a brand new series to come out of Apple TV, launching this weekend. The series, which is set in two simultaneous periods of time, focusing on the past & present day, it’s a show that blends romance, drama, action and thrills – all with a great big dollop of nostalgia. It also showcases the talented pool of Latin America performers and creative talents working in the industry today – and to mark the show’s release, we had the pleasure in speaking to the majority of them.
We speak about nostalgia, of their own pasts and whether they too have stayed in touch with close friends from their youth, while they talk about bringing such a wealth of Latino performers together, and how positive this can be for the industry. We also delve in to the accessibility that comes now with streaming sites, and we even get a...

Director Billy Ray ("Shattered Glass") has had a remake of Argentina's Oscar winner thriller "The Secret in Their Eyes" in the works for a few years, set up and then languishing at Warner Bros., and now rejuvenated at Im Global, who's set to shop the film at the Cannes market. And they've got a tantalizing cast in place: Chiwetel Ejiofor and Gwyneth Paltrow. The remake pivots around a former Mi-5 agent (Ejiofor) who can't shake his obsession with an unsolved murder, even as he's hired by the FBI and heads to Boston. He eventually uncovers some unthinkable secrets that shed a whole new light on past events. No word on Paltrow's role, but she'd presumably fill the shoes of Soledad Villamil's character from the original, a higher-up who Ricardo Darin's character (here Ejiofor) is in love with. Ejiofor nabbed an Oscar nomination earlier this year for Best Picture...

★★☆☆☆ Viggo Mortensen rises to the challenge of playing twins in Argentinian director Ana Piterberg's debut feature Everybody Has a Plan (2012) - even if the drama never quite rises to meet his beguiling performance. It's not the actor's first role in Spanish, but it is his first in the country in which he lived as a child. The tale of a man appropriating his brother's identity, Everybody Has a Plan was also produced by the Danish-American actor who also took control of the subtitling to make sure that nuances were not lost in translation. Pedro (Mortensen) is a country-mouse slowly dying of cancer in a riverside community in the Tigre Delta.
Pedro finds himself willingly ensnared in the nefarious activities of pal and consummate lowlife Adrián (Daniel Fanego). Meanwhile, in the big city, refined town-mouse Agustín (also Mortensen) is a paediatrician suffering a mid-life crisis, whilst doing his best to estrange his wife.

There's an uncanny degree of naturalism to this downbeat sketch of a lost London soul, confused over his sexuality, his faltering stand-up career and his place in life. It was made with a Dogme-like set of rules encouraging spontaneous improvisation in real locales. The result is somewhere between Mike Leigh and mumblecore, a meandering slice of life that often hits the truth.

There might be little left to say about vampires, but genre veteran Jordan has a better right (and better actors) than most to say it. This tale of two 200-year-old women hiding out in a coastal town is more mature and less gory than most offerings.

Actors who can genuinely rise above subpar material are few and far between, and Viggo Mortensen is one of them. His soulful lead turn as a German scholar-turned-Nazi sympathizer elevated an otherwise shaky stage adaptation in 2008's Good, and his tongue-in-cheek take on Freud was one of the few redeeming features of David Cronenberg's stilted and misjudged A Dangerous Method.
In Everybody Has a Plan, the feature debut from Argentinian director Ana Piterbarg, we're gifted with not one but two Mortensen performances. This, surely, should be a done deal. So why is the end result - with its enticing blend of character study, crime drama and potboiler plotting - such a joyless chore?
Admittedly, the premise is enough to make you nervous. Frustrated Buenos Aires paediatrician...

And while it seems a bit less common with actors, recent James Bond villain Javier Bardem scored a Best Actor Oscar nomination for 2010′s “Biutiful” while speaking in his native tongue. But apart from Kristin Scott Thomas – and recently Will Ferrell, who took up Spanish for the comedy “Casa de Mi Padre” — few native English speakers aim to flex their bilingual skills on the big screen. And that’s a big part of the reason writer-director Ana Piterbarg’s “Everybody Has [ Read More ]

Best Laid Plans: Piterbarg Gets Double the Mortensen in Debut
Argentinean director Ana Piterbarg nabs Viggo Mortensen for dual roles in her debut, a slow burn identity thriller, Everybody Has a Plan. Mortensen, having appeared in three previous Spanish speaking features, is a fellow countryman of Piterbarg, having spent his childhood in Argentina. The resulting collaboration may be disappointing to some, as this is a simmering, psychological thriller that banks mostly on constant discomfort and a slowly building menace that permeates the narrative, but this only serves to make the film a unique, fascinating, noir-tinged exercise in the swamps.
Agustin (Mortensen) stars as a doctor in Buenos Aires, who we quickly learn is in a floundering marriage with Claudia (Soledad Villamil). They are about to adopt a baby, something that Claudia is apparently passionate about, a plan that has been gestating for some time. But it turns out that...

In some films, particularly of the twists and turns variety, a significant event, moment or even line of dialogue, can be summarized by the phrase “This changes everything”. This is known as a Game Changer, where the established landscape of the movie’s plot is irrevocably and dramatically altered, with no chance of ever going back. Audience reaction can range from emotional sledgehammer to Wtf?
Often this single moment can encapsulate the whole film, and become its most famed component: everybody who has heard of The Crying Game is also familiar with its reveal. This isn’t the Twist Ending we’re talking about; this is the story shaking, ultimately defining wham moment.
Here are six great examples.
Obviously contains extensive spoilers.

Today we’re here to have a little chat (actually a reminder) about the movie that definitely deserves our attention, especially after winning the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film at the 82nd Academy Awards, making Argentina the first country in Latin America to win it twice!
So, you already guess the title: The Secret In Their Eyes or, if you prefer El Secreto de sus Ojos directed by Juan José Campanella, premiered at Toronto Film Festival (September 2009).
But, when it comes to this project, this is not the end of the award-list. It also won the award for best Hispanic-American Film of the Year from the Spanish Film Academy, beating out rival film, Peru’s, The Milk of Sorrow.
Beside that, this crime drama has been nominated as Best Film Not in the English Language for the Orange British Academy Film Awards – BAFTA (February 13, 2011), as well as for the...

David Fincher's "The Social Network"is emerging as the consensus choice as best film of 2010. Most of the critics' groups have sanctified it, and after its initial impact it has only grown it stature. I think it is an early observer of a trend in our society, where we have learned new ways of thinking of ourselves: As members of a demographic group, as part of a database, as figures in...a social network.
My best films list also appears on my main site, but I am posting it here on the blog so that you can comment on it. In response to the reader protests of recent years, I've returned to the time-honored tradition of ten films arranged in order from one to ten. After that, it's all alphabetical. The notion of objectively ordering works of art seems bizarre to me.

Hit the jump to find out what movies made Roger's list this year. Roger Ebert's Top 10 Movies of 2010: 1. The Social Network - "it is an early observer of a trend in our society, where we have learned new ways of thinking of ourselves: As members of a demographic group, as part of a database, as figures in...a social network." 2. The King's Speech - "Tom Hooper's filmmaking itself is crafted in older style, depending on an assembly of actors, costumes, sets, and a three-act structure. The characters project considered ideas of themselves" 3. Black Swan - "uses powerful performances by Natalie Portman and Vincent Cassel to represent archetypal attributes" 4. Our film critic makes the nominations for his own personal Oscars in a widely underrated year for film
December is the season of list-making and Top 10 compiling, but when I mention this to other critics, it's been getting winces and shrugs and mutterings that 2010 hasn't been a vintage year. I'm not so sure about that. It's true that the huge arthouse hits like The White Ribbon and A Prophet are now a very distant memory — A Prophet in fact was released at the very beginning of this year, but has been so extensively discussed, that I don't mention it below. Some huge crowd-pleasers, like Danny Boyle's 127 Hours, Tom Hooper's The King's Speech and Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan, haven't yet had a full release and neither has Kelly Reichardt's western, Meek's Cutoff. These things may combine to produce the impression that 2010 is in itself a thin year.

Robin Hood: Ridley Scott's pseudo historical take on the story of the man who robs from the rich and gives to the poor. In the film, Robin Hood (Russell Crowe) is a disillusioned Crusader who decides to go the outlaw route after seeing what's become of his country in his decade-long absence. All the classic character's are there but everything's off. Hood middle aged and surprisingly money hungry, Marian (Cate Blanchett) is now a Lady and the widow of the dead man Robin impersonates. The film lacks the sense of swashbuckling fun that has made the legend of Robin Hood an enduring part of Western culture. As with Antoine Fuqua's King Arthur, a few brava action sequences doesn't make the deconstruction of beloved myths any fun to watch. Also starring Mark Strong, Oscar Isaac, and Eileen Atkins.
