At some point this season, Criminal Minds: Evolution is briefly getting the gang all back together with the return of Matthew Gray Gubler. Dr. Spencer Reid was still with the Bau when the original Criminal Minds run ended in 2020, but Gubler didn’t return for the revival, with the explanation given that his character’s off on a special assignment. (Such is the case for Daniel Henney‘s Matt Simmons as well.) When TV Insider spoke with cast members recently about the new season, we tried to get teases about his return. Aisha Tyler (Lewis) and Adam Rodriguez (Alvez) were very cagey when they stopped by our offices (watch the video interview above for a deep dive into Season 18 Episode 2). “You’ll see him, and I’ll say this, it’s nice to see him. I think everybody will appreciate seeing him and we all enjoyed the time that he was there with us,...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 18 Episode 2 “The Zookeeper.”] Voit, serial killer Sicarius, person running a whole network of people just like him … may actually no longer be a psychopath? That’s what the tests are telling the Bau (Behavioral Analysis Unit) about Zach Gilford‘s character in the Thursday, May 15, episode of Criminal Minds: Evolution. After waking from a coma, Voit remembers nothing. In fact, when Rossi (Joe Mantegna) walks into the room, Voit’s first reaction is, “Dad?” It’s not played for comedy, but there is some humor in that moment knowing their history. Aisha Tyler (Lewis) directed the episode. “I was like, you have to play this, every single person you’ve seen since you woke up is a stranger. You don’t know where you are, you don’t know who you are. You can remember nothing about your life. And then you see a face that you recognize,...

Conrad Harrigan, patriarch of Paramount+’s MobLand, has built a criminal empire that — if Fisk doesn’t get to it first — could very likely outlive him. Which raises a salient point: Which of Conrad’s children is best suited to run the family business in his stead?
Let’s just go ahead and ignore the cliffhanger that ended last week’s episode, in which Conrad’s son, Brendan, and daughter, Seraphina, were in the middle of a shootout organized by their father’s biggest rival. Let’s assume for now that all Harrigan offspring are on the table — not that...

I’ve been a Criminal Minds fan for as long as I can remember. Evolution season 2 left Voit’s fate in the balance, with the team begrudgingly agreeing to work with him to solve the serial killer case. In Criminal Minds: Evolution season 3, we catch up with the Bau and Voit six months after the previous season, only to find Voit in a coma and the team on the hunt for their newest unsub. Without further ado, let’s dive into the evidence that makes the episode a memorably shocking premiere on Paramount+. Spoilers below.

The new season of Criminal Minds: Evolution is going to be “a really hot one” for deviant UnSubs, Aisha Tyler promised during her visit to TVLine’s NYC video studio this week.

Top Chef has been feeding us cravings, chaos, and kitchen showdowns for years, but honestly, nothing spices things up quite like a surprise from a celebrity guest judge. And no, I’m not referring to the food critics with ten forks in their coat pocket, I’m talking about the athletes, actors, random famous faces, and pop stars that show up to taste-test the fancy palettes of cuisine they probably can’t even pronounce.
Of course, some of them are food nerds who know their beurre blanc from their bearnaise, but others? Let’s just say they vibe, hoping there’s dessert (sounds like me). Then a few of them are way too serious, like they’re judging the Olympics too. And the remaining ones are just happy to be there and taste something that isn’t from craft services.
But one thing’s for sure, they all bring fun...

In about forty-eight hours, Criminal Minds will make a thrilling comeback with its eighteenth season, also serving as the third chapter of the Evolution revival. The season debuts with the "Swimmer's Calculus" episode, written by Breen Frazier and directed by Bethany Rooney, with every main character from Season 17 set to return, including the psychotic villain Elias Voit (Zach Gilford). A few hints have come up regarding what’s ahead for some of these characters; one from Paget Brewster (who portrays the Bau chief Emily Prentiss) and most recently from Aisha Tyler, whose character Tara Lewis is about to have one hell of a season.
Speaking with TVLine about the new installment of Criminal Minds, Tyler teased a “deeply personal” journey for her character, involving her history, saying:
“This season is going to be deeply personal for Tara. We get to dive into my backstory, which has been really beautiful.”

What better way to celebrate the return of Criminal Minds: Evolution on Thursday, May 8, than with a bit of a throwback? When the suspenseful drama returned for more on Paramount+ following a 15-season run on CBS, it did so with nearly everyone back we’d last seen with the Bau (Behavioral Analysis Unit). That included Aisha Tyler, as Dr. Tara Lewis, after her introduction in Season 11. And so when Tyler dropped by TV Insider during Season 17 to chat all things Criminal Minds, we had her watch a scene from her very first episode, Season 11 Episode 1, “The Job.” In it, the team’s search for a serial killer helped them find the person who filled the open spot left by Kate’s (Jennifer Love Hewitt) departure. Tara impressed the team, especially Hotch (Thomas Gibson) and Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness) in the most on-the-job interview there is. Watch her watch and react to...

Yes, indeedy: someone is about to be buried alive again in the name of wholesome entertainment.
In the official trailer for the new season of Criminal Minds: Evolution, there’s more talk about serial killers, sadistic psychopaths, and Elias Voit — the notorious Sicarius Killer played by the enthusiastic Zach Gilford.
The 18th season picks up six months after prisoners attack Voit, leading his restless followers on the dark web to begin wreaking havoc all over the country. In order to stop this group from killing more women, er, innocents, the Bau is forced to play a “real life game of Clue” while saying things like “yes indeedy” as they work alongside the increasingly unpredictable Voit (who seems to his own agenda).
Evolution brings back stars Joe Mantegna, A.J. Cook, Kirsten Vangsness, Aisha Tyler, and Rj Hatanaka, along with Adam Rodriguez and Paget Brewster.

Criminal Minds: Evolution fans, we are that much closer to the anticipated return of the reboot’s third season. After a long wait since the events of season 2, what do we know so far about what we can expect in the upcoming season on Paramount+?
When we last saw the team at the end of season 23, Elias Voit had been sent to prison. However, when he was put into general population in prison, he was assaulted while in the laundry area on the grounds. Even though it may seem like this was completely unexpected, with Voit’s tendency to manipulate situations he finds himself in, one has to wonder if he was involved in setting up his own attack.
What do we know about Criminal Minds: Evolution season 3?

After CBS ended the police procedural drama Criminal Minds in 2022, Paramount+ revived the series two years later, dubbing it Criminal Minds: Evolution. Although the series continued with many characters from the original, some fan-favorite characters didn't return, including Matthew Gray Gubler's Spencer Reid.
Gubler was a series regular on the original Criminal Minds series, which ran between 2005 and 2020. He didn't return for the first two seasons, but he is set to make his return in Criminal Minds: Evolution's Season 3, the show's overall eighteenth season, which is set to premiere on May 8. Wheels up in May, profilers! We're returning to the round table room in the FBI: Behavioral Analysis Unit (Bau) building to solve more twisted cases and tackle life head-on. Entertainment Weekly surprised Criminal Minds fans on April 10 by releasing multiple updates for season 18.
Criminal Minds: Evolution boss Erica Messer dropped some teasers we may not expect. We received a season teaser video, photos, and storyline updates from Voit to Spencer Reid. I'm not kidding when I say they surprised us. Criminal Minds rarely releases updates, besides an occasional Paget Brewster tweet slip. Other than that, fans don't know much until close to release.

Along with Voit and the Bau team returning, Matthew Gray Gubler's anticipated return is finally happening. I'm a Spencer Reid fan, and I'll be glad to see him, but I can already feel my heart breaking for what he's possibly going to endure.

For the better part of the last two decades, Criminal Minds has entertained audiences with its gripping portrayal of criminal profiling, intense psychological drama, and compelling characters.
Not only did the series offer a deep dive into the world of crime and police procedures, but its emotional depth and complex storyline have often captivated viewers.

Things turned wild after Wayne Brady’s gesture toward a Let’s Make a Deal contestant.
The game show host called a contestant onto the stage dressed as Strawberry Shortcake and conversed with her about the character.
“My sister loved Strawberry Shortcake as a kid, so I remember the outfit,” Wayne said.
Out of nowhere, he noticed that the contestant, seated on a tall chair, dropped one of her shoes.
“I didn’t even notice. Sorry to point that out. Here,” he said as he walked over and picked up the shoe.
Wayne put the shoe back on the woman’s foot in a genuinely kind gesture. However, things escalated after that.

“Wayne Brady, y’all!” the contestant exclaimed when the host was helping with her shoe.

Tim Allen’s co-star in his latest sitcom just shared a hilarious story on her social media. Allen stars alongside Kat Dennings in Shifting Gears, the comedy following a headstrong widower, Matt (Allen), who owns a classic car workshop. When his newly separated daughter and her teenage children arrive at his house, they begin to work on restoring more than just cars. Before teaming up with Allen for Shifting Gears, Dennings made a name for herself by starring alongside Robert Downey Jr. in Charlie Bartlett. She then further expanded her stardom by joining the MCU, but the Shifting Gears star recently took to her Threads account to share that while roaming the grounds at Avengers Campus, she didn’t understand why people were waving at her. For a fleeting moment, Dennings completely forgot that she’s an MCU star.

The game show host called a contestant named Metaphor on stage during the recent episode, with a chance to win a big prize.
It was unclear what he would win, as his prize was behind the second curtain. However, it was also Mega Money Monday, with a grand prize of $10,000 available to someone on the show.
Before Metaphor even had a chance to decide on having the curtain open, Wayne offered him $300 to walk away.
“A bird in the hand is worth,” the contestant said before the host added, “dot dot dot.”

Harley Quinn has established a distinctive position beyond normal genre restrictions in an era where superhero content seems to dominate every streaming platform. The show’s transition from DC Universe to Max reflects the evolution of its main character, surviving changes in the industry while maintaining its unique identity. While other DC shows are getting canceled or restarted, Harley Quinn remains popular with today’s viewers. The show has changed from a straightforward comedy about villains to a more complex look at identity, relationships, and the difficulties of individual reformation in the face of systemic pushback.
