From the outside looking in, 20th Century Fox’s grand X-Men franchise appears to be in a state of flux following the launch of Apocalypse earlier in the year. Barring the runaway success of Deadpool, production on the Channing Tatum-fronted Gambit solo movie has effectively ground to a halt, and unless the studio irons out contract extensions with the likes of Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender, the uncertainty swirling around the core X-Men timeline may prompt Fox to reboot the series as we know it. The show must go on, as the old saying goes.
Speaking of which, Le Journal De Montréal has unearthed a report (via Cbm) that suggests 20th Century Fox will be bringing together the X-Men as early as next year – May 2017, to be specific. The outlet claims Fox will circle back to Mels Studios for the next film, extending its streak there to...

It seems as though the X-Men are returning to Montreal in the not so distant future. Le Journal De Montréal has learned that 20th Century Fox has already opened up production offices in Mels Studios (located in Montreal) for their next X-Men movie and were also able to confirm that sets for the upcoming feature are expected to begin construction in January, which is just a few short weeks away. It will now become the third film in the series to shoot in the studio, following X-Men: Days of Future Past and X-Men: Apocalypse. Mels Studios president Michel Trudel corroborated the story: "They will start shooting in May and they will occupy Studios 2 and 3 of Mels for several months." He later went on to further explain the behind-the-scenes work it took to bring the production back to Montreal: "We had two and a half months of negotiations with the people at Fox.

Not long ago it was reported that Fox was looking to do a light reboot of the X-Men film franchise without director Bryan Singer. There weren't a lot of details on what that would actually entail, but it was later rumored that the next film in the franchise would focus on the Dark Phoenix saga, which I hope is true!
Sophie Turner is expected to reprise her role as Jean Grey, and I imagine some of the other new young actors introduced in X-Men: Apocalypse will also join her. Elements of the Dark Phoenix saga storyline were used in X-Men: The Last Stand, but this next film is said to completely focus on it.
Whether this is what Fox is doing or not, they have a plan in place because they are about to start production on the film in Montreal. The news comes from Le Journal de Montreal, who...

A new X-Men film has set up base in Montreal, with set construction kicking off next month. And it looks like it's New Mutants.

The upcoming "X-Men: Apocalypse" has been touted as something of a final film in the series, closing off the six films of Bryan Singer's original "X-Men" trilogy and the more recent 'First Class' trilogy.
Fox no doubt has plans to continue the franchise beyond both 'Apocalypse,' Hugh Jackman's third and final "Wolverine" solo film, and the two X-Men related TV series it recently greenlit. There has been questions though regarding Singer's involvement beyond that point. Will he stay around for what could well be a reboot of the franchise?
According to a new report over at Journal De Montreal (via Heroic Hollywood), Singer is likely involved in whatever the film is as they have reported that production on another "X-Men" film will take place in Montreal at Mel's Studios in early 2017. Pre-production on said film would commence November next year.

Writer/Director Bryan Singer triumphantly returned to the X-Men franchise with 2014's X-Mem: Days of Future Past. He then went right into making it's sequel, X-Men: Apocalypse, which hits theatres May 27, 2016. After that Singer is supposed to begin filming 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, but will he also be going into pre-production on the next X-Men film? If Le Journal de Montréal is to be believed, then yes, he will.
The site states that production on a new Singer directed X-Men film will open offices in Montreal for a 2017 shoot.
"It was a miracle that we managed to attract a movie X-Men in Montreal in 2013. To convince Fox to return for a second and now a third is simply amazing, welcomes the great patron of Mel's Studios, Michel Trudel, who said he worked hard in recent months to bring this mega-production in Montreal."It's always great news for our industry when...

We.re still more than six months away from finally seeing X-Men: Apocalypse, but that.s not going to stop people from speculating about the future of the franchise. As profitable as the mutant-centric superhero saga has been, there are, of course, going to be more installments, but we.ve been wondering about mastermind Bryan Singer.s involvement, whether or not he.ll be back for more, but according to a new report, it sounds like he may very well be returning for more movies. X-Men: Apocalypse recently returned to Montreal, where it filmed, to do some reshoots, and according to Journal De Montreal (via Heroic Hollywood), production will once again head to the Great White North in 2017 for filming on a seventh X-Men movie. Michel Trudel, of Mel.s Studios, where Apocalypse filmed, and where the next movie will shoot as well, recently singed a deal with Fox, and...

After being shut down over money troubles, the new film of Riddick is set to get back up and running next month. Vin Diesel is firmly on board.
After the interesting but flawed box office flop, The Chronicles Of Riddick, we figured we wouldn’t get to see Vin Diesel in that role again on the big screen. It was a surprise, then, that a new Riddick film went before the cameras in October.
Going under the name of Riddick, the movie stars Diesel, with Karl Urban returning, too. David Twohy is back calling the shots on the film.
However, not everything has been going smoothly. According to reports over at TMZ, the Riddick production was kicked out of the Montreal studio where shooting is taking place, after bills weren’t paid on time. That was at the end of October, and Michel Trudel, the owner of the aforementioned studio,...

It was always intended to be filmed on a lean and mean low budget, but, but that apparently hasn't precluded cashflow problems for the third Riddick movie. Some scaremongering reports a month or so ago suggested that production on Riddick 3 had shut down, but thankfully it seems just to have been a temporary technical itch, and the Furyan's night-vision is now operational again.
The reports came from Montreal studio owner Michel Trudel, who locked the production out of his facility due, he said, to some rather large unpaid bills. There was also said to be some griping from similarly afflicted crew members.
Thankfully though, the line of credit has been restored. The various reports this morning are not naming the production's mysterious benefactor, although Vin Diesel made sure to give some props to Universal when he posted some artwork on his Facepage a couple of months ago.

Last month, quite a few of us were shocked to hear that production on Riddick, the continuation of the Chronicles of Riddick franchise, came to a sudden halt when the cast and crew were locked out of the production facility for non-payment. Now it looks like they've secured funding and are ready to try again!
Vin Diesel has been regularly updating his fans on Facebook with news about Riddick. Back in the early days when it was just a dream, all the way to updates with concept art, Diesel has been keeping us updated. It's obvious that he's pretty passionate about the project, and with casting news and production ready to get underway it seemed like this sequel was right on track finally.

TMZ reports that Vin Diesel’s new film The Chronicles Of Riddick: Dead Man Stalking is heading back for production after a financial faux pas that stopped the shoot dead in its tracks.
Last month production was halted when cast and crew was Locked Out of their studio. Owner of the Montreal studio Michel Trudel forced his hand, claiming that he had not been paid for use of his facilities. The film was dead in the water until very recently. Trudel says the production company has paid up and is willing to let production pick up where it left off.
This is one of many changes that will be made with the production, as word has it that several crew members are still waiting on their paychecks. Source say they won’t have to wait much longer.

Filming on "Riddick", the third film featuring Vin Diesel's anti-hero, looks to be starting again shortly after being postponed due to financial issues last month.
TMZ reports that the Montreal studio, whom shut out the cast and crew after studio owner Michel Trudel complained he hadn't gotten paid, has now received their due funds.
As a result Trudel is willing to allow the film to pick up production where it left off. Several members of the crew however still require pay checks, but those are expected to be delivered shortly. Filming on the project will resume on December 28th.

Chrome dome muscleman Vin Diesel can take on any threat as Riddick but not even the popular anti-hero stands a chance against a guy that wants his money, so production on the newest film in the Chronicles of Riddick franchise has come to stop.
It seemed like things were going pretty well for the new Riddick adventure, with Vin Diesel’s production company, One Race Films, chugging right along, but filming was derailed when Michel Trudel, the owner of the studio in Montreal where the film was shooting, showed up, kicked cast and crew off the set, and changed the locks.
Don’t hate on Trudel though because he’s just doing what had to be done since One Race Films failed to make payment on the studio on time. While this might easily be seen as a small administrative oopsie, a source close to production stated that Trudel wasn...

Production on "Riddick", the third instalment in the sci-fi series featuring Vin Diesel's anti-hero, has been shut down due to "serious cash flow issues" reports TMZ.
Michel Trudel, the owner of the Montreal studio where the new movie is being shot, says everyone on the set had to be kicked off because Diesel's One Race Films production company failed to pay up on time.
Similarly, several members of the crew have reportedly not been paid in over two weeks and "are very concerned about getting their money".
Yet Trudel says he's "confident the situation will be resolved soon" and production is expected to resume once these financial difficulties are worked out.

“Riddick”. Vin Diesel wants to do it. David Twohy’s been in pre-production on it for what seems like years now. So what’s the hold up? A little money issue, it seems. According to TMZ (which is apparently covering movie news now, besides all their usual stories of celebrities, you know, walking and going in and out of restaurants and all those other banal nonsense that apparently people really, really love knowing about for God knows whatever reason) the movie’s Montreal set has been shut down due to non-payment. TMZ spoke with Michel Trudel — the owner of the Montreal studio where the new movie is being shot — who tells us he changed the locks and kicked everyone off the set Wednesday because the production company, One Race Films, has failed to pay up on time. “The Chronicles of Riddick,” made in 2004, was a box-office failure, but somehow, the want for a sequel was there, at least for Vin Diesel, who played the title character.
