It's Hank vs The Future In First Poster For King Of The Hill Continuation
Image
Hulu’s upcoming King of the Hill revival appears poised to explore the contrast between a rapidly changing world and the steadfast Texas traditionalism of Hank Hill.

The newly released poster teases this dynamic perfectly: Dale is immersed in virtual reality and puffing on a vape, Boomhauer is casually scrolling through a smart tablet, and Bill is placing a food delivery order from an Uber Eats pastiche.

In stark contrast, Hank remains frozen in time—looking and dressing exactly as he did when fans last saw him back in the show’s original finale, which aired on September 13, 2009. The image sets the stage for a comedic clash between old-school values and 21st-century life.

I’ll tell you what. The King is returning soon, on @Hulu and #HuluOnDisneyPlus. #KingOfTheHill pic.twitter.com/61dQYyABXq

King of the Hill: Hank confronts modern technology (and hates it) in official poster for the revival
Image
Hulu ordered a revival of King of the Hill over two years ago, and the first official look at the new animated series has arrived in the form of a brand-new poster. You can check that out below.

Most animated shows keep their characters at the same age forever, but the revival of King of the Hill will find the series leaping forward in time. As you can see, the gang are looking a little older (with Boomhauer somehow looking like he’s aged the most) and good ol’ Hank Hill is just as exasperated by modern technology as you would expect. Bill is receiving a food delivery by Mega Lo Eats, Dale is wearing a VR headset and vaping, and Boomhauer is immersed in his tablet. In the background, a drone is delivering a case of Alamo beer.

Hulu Reveals First Look at Older Hank Hill and Friends in King of the Hill Revival
Image
A new look has been revealed of the new King of the Hill series coming to Hulu.

Previously, it was announced that Hulu was reviving the hit animated show King of the Hill. It's also known that the show will take place several years after the events of the original show, and a new look at the show has revealed a poster offering the first official look at Hank Hill and friends having a beer in the alley. Though they each look a bit aged, the poster shows that while some things change, others never do. Check out the poster below.

The poster teases how there will be modern references in the new series. Bill seems to be making the most out of the local food delivery services in Arlen, while Dale is clearly having a lot of fun with VR technology. This shows how moving the story forward and...

Poker Face Season 2 TV Review: Natasha Lyonne and Rian Johnson reunite for more mystery-of-the-week shenanigans
Image
Plot: Poker Face is a mystery-of-the-week series following Natasha Lyonne’s Charlie, who has an extraordinary ability to determine when someone is lying. She hits the road with her Plymouth Barracuda and with every stop encounters a new cast of characters and strange crimes she can’t help but solve.

Review: While Rian Johnson revived the whodunit on the big screen with Knives Out and the Netflix sequel Glass Onion, his charmingly retro small-screen series Poker Face has truly proven its worth in the tried-and-true genre. Echoing classic shows like Columbo and The Rockford Files, Poker Face‘s first season centered on Charlie Cale (Natasha Lyonne), who solved mysteries while on the run from gangsters looking to kill her. The overarching narrative of the first season was engaging, but the standalone mysteries boasting famous guest stars turned Poker Face into must-watch programming. After a two-year wait, Poker Face is back with another ten mysteries,...

Natasha Lyonne clarifies that her AI directing debut ‘Uncanny Valley’ is ‘not really an AI film’
Image
The second season of Poker Face was celebrated Thursday at the Hollywood Legion Theater where Natasha Lyonne, the star, executive producer, writer, and director, took a time-out from the premiere party to talk to Gold Derby about her upcoming movie, which has received plenty of attention this week.

Lyonne announced just days earlier that she was embarking on her feature film directorial debut, called Uncanny Valley, that would employ generative AI. Although Lyonne said she and her team would use the technology "ethically and creatively," the news was met with ambivalence due to industry-wide fear of artificial intelligence not only replacing artists but incorporating their work without permission.

Seemingly wary after some reports got it wrong, Lyonne on Thursday was cautious to note that Uncanny Valley “is not really an AI film.” Very aware of the reputation and threat the term AI carries in Hollywood, she clarified “ultimately, what this...

This May 30th, King of the Hill co-creators and executive producers Mike Judge and Greg Daniels will headline a reunion event at Austin, Texas’ Atx TV Festival for the animated Fox sitcom about a traditional Texas family living in a fictional small town that’s filled with lovably Southern eccentrics. 'You See Hank Hill in a Whole New Way': King of the Hill Sequel Series Gets an Exciting Tease

The animated series King of the Hill is getting a revival. Following in the footsteps of Futurama, the new series will be heading to Hulu for a streaming release.

Along with hosting the new Futurama, that's what also makes Hulu ideal for the new King of the Hill, as Erwich explained.

"I think we’re really happy with the arrangement that we have," he said. "Hulu is the home to adult animation. We have the best offering by a mile. The Simpsons, Family Guy, past and now new seasons of Futurama,...

'Bad Santa' and 'Bad Santa 2' are Streaming for Free on Pluto TV
Image
The unconventional holiday classic Bad Santa and its sequel have proven to be a free streaming hit this Christmas, as the movies hold the top two spots on Pluto TV in the U.S. The Billy Bob Thornton-led R-rated comedies certainly aren’t the kind of movies to sit and watch with the kids and your elderly aunt, but that hasn’t stopped it making a huge impression after joining the platform this December.

Despite its position as one of the most irreverent Christmas movies of all time, it seems that the black comedy, with its crude humor and anti-holiday vibe, is proving to be just as much of a hit as family comedy classics such as The Santa Clause, Home Alone, and Elf. Perhaps there is only so much saccharine-laden Christmas cheer that anyone can take, and there really isn’t a better alternative than Bad Santa to counter it.

The 12 Best Movies To Watch If You Like Crazy Rich Asians
Image
The box office record-breaking success of "Wicked" is once again proving the crowd-pleasing chops of Jon M. Chu, who had previously demonstrated them via the massive success of a certain swanky romantic comedy to which he was connected long before becoming its director. Based on the eponymous novel by Kevin Kwan, 2018's "Crazy Rich Asians" topped the box office in its release week and went on to gross over $239 million worldwide on a $30 million budget. It's safe to say that it's a movie with a lot of fans.

Thankfully, there are several other films you can queue up if you count yourself as one of those fans. Whether you're drawn to the perfectly executed rom-com plotting, to the Asian American representation, to the themes of familial displacement and culture clash between North America and Asia, to the snarky sense of humor, or to the ritz and sumptuousness of the wedding...

Billy Bob Thornton Thought 'Bad Santa' Would End His Career
Image
As the holiday season quickly approaches, it's time for movie fans to start breaking out the classics of Christmas' past. The 2003 dark-comedy Bad Santa is a hit that still makes it onto audiences' must-watch list this time of year, even two decades after its release. Starring the Academy-Award winning actor, writer, and director Billy Bob Thornton, best known for the film adaption of Sling Blade, the movie follows the hysterical antics of a drunken, department-store Santa named Willie who gets his jollies by swearing at children, hooking up in dressing rooms, and robbing retailers every Christmas Eve.

The film's lead recently appeared on the BBC program The One Show to promote his new series Landman, exclusively streaming on Paramount Plus. During his interview, despite Bad Santa's box-office success, he admitted that he initially thought the movie would end his career. A naughty Father of Christmas who takes his misery...

Interior Chinatown TV Review: Jimmy O. Yang is a reluctant sleuth in the Taika Waititi-directed comedy noir
Image
Plot: Based on Charles Yu’s award-winning book of the same name, the show follows the story of Willis Wu, a background character trapped in a police procedural called Black & White. Relegated to the background, Willis goes through the motions of his on-screen job, waiting tables, dreaming about a world beyond Chinatown and aspiring to be the lead of his own story. When Willis inadvertently becomes a witness to a crime, he begins to unravel a criminal web in Chinatown, while discovering his own family’s buried history and what it feels like to be in the spotlight.

Review: Interior Chinatown is an interesting approach to telling a meta-fictional story. Rather than breaking the fourth wall or setting a story within a story, this series takes the approach of interconnecting characters often relegated to the background and showing how they can break free of their stereotypical and cliche constraints to...

Few TV shows have had a wilder journey through their lifespan than Futurama, which has encompassed 12 seasons over the course of 25 years. The story of a 20th Century slacker who wakes up in the 31st Century premiered more or less in sync with Y2K, and endured far past that moment to become an appropriately odd cult classic. Hulu picked the series up for new seasons in 2023 after a decade off the air, with at least one more season planned to air through 2026.

Finding the show isn't difficult and interested fans should have few problems locating a place for streaming and download. One of the unique things about the show, however, is the circuitous broadcasting route it's taken. Following Futurama's...

Futurama Season 12 Review: Returning to Form
Image
Futurama returned once more to our screens last year with a fourth outing on Hulu. The long-running animated series about the hijinks of intergalactic delivery crew Planet Express has seen its share of cancellations and comebacks over the years. Originally debuting on Fox in the late 90s to early 2000s, it lived on through movies and a Comedy Central run before that finale was called into question as well.

Now under the banner of Hulu, fans were eager to see what more adventures the creative minds behind Matt Groening and David X. Cohen could conjure up utilizing their blend of sci-fi fantasy and subversive humor. Overall the response was positive, with the new episodes feeling like a natural extension of the beloved world that had been established. It was clear the writers still had more stories to tell and the characters’ charm remained intact despite the passage of time.

With Season 12 now underway,...

Futurama Censors Threw A Fit Over A 'Millimeter' Of Cleavage
Image
In the "Futurama" episode "Time Keeps on Slippin'", the Professor (Billy West) tasks Leela (Katey Sagal), Bender (John Dimaggio), and Fry (Billy West) to fly into a distant space cloud and retrieve several chronitons — marble-size time particles — and bring them back to Earth for an experiment. The Professor has grown five mutant infants in his lab and needs the chronitons to accelerate their growth and turn them into adults within a matter of seconds. The Professor's mutants are meant to serve as the members of a high-octane, superpowered basketball team constructed to take on the Harlem Globetrotters.

When the chronitons were removed from their space cloud, however, it accidentally left a small rip in the space-time continuum. Time began behaving erratically across the universe, skipping forward a few minutes, then a few hours, then a few weeks.

The skips allowed the writers of "Futurama" to squeeze in a few clever gags.
