‘The Pitt’ star Noah Wyle entered as actor, writer, and producer for 2025 Emmys; see all the show’s submissions

A week after moving into first place in the Gold Derby odds for Best Actor in a Drama Series, Noah Wyle could be in play for several Emmys for The Pitt.

HBO Max has submitted Wyle, who plays Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch, in multiple categories for acting, writing, and executive-producing the acclaimed series, Gold Derby has confirmed.

Series creator, executive producer, and showrunner R. Scott Gemmill joins Wyle in the Writing for a Drama Series category. John Wells and Amanda Marsalis are submitted for Directing in a Drama Series.

All series regulars, portraying members of the hospital’s medical staff have been submitted for Outstanding Supporting Actor/Actress in a Drama Series:

Shabana Azeez as Victoria Javadi

Patrick Ball as Dr. Frank Langdon

Isa Briones as Dr. Trinity Santos

Taylor Dearden as Dr. Melissa “Mel” King

‘The Pitt’ Emmy Submissions Revealed With Noah Wyle Up For Lead Actor & Writing

Exclusive: One of the top contenders on the 2025 Emmy drama race, HBO Max’s breakout medical drama The Pitt, has firmed up its submissions.

In his role as star, writer and executive producer, Noah Wyle will contend in all three areas. He is up for Lead Actor In a Drama Series for his portrayal of Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch, the dedicated senior attending physician at the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital.

Wyle and series creator, executive producer and showrunner R. Scott Gemmill are The Pitt‘s two submissions in the Writing for a Drama Series category, while executive producer John Wells and Amanda Marsalis are up for Directing In a Drama Series.

Gemmill, Wyle and Wells are all part of the series’ producing team behind The Pitt‘s Outstanding Drama Series submission.

For four seasons, Stephen Falk set out to “subvert but still service” the romantic comedy genre with his FX half-hour series “You’re the Worst.” Therefore, in setting out to craft the fifth and final season, in which the central couple Jimmy (Chris Geere) and Gretchen (Aya Cash) are planning their wedding, Falk had some clear tentpoles for the story in mind, but also wanted to make sure the “event” element didn’t completely take over and change the tone of the show.

“We wanted to keep the momentum of the wedding planning going so as to make it always the gravitational force that was propelling the season,” Falk tells Variety.
