The Midnight Meat Train (2008) Revisited – Horror Movie Review
Image
Is there anyone as disappointed in their adaptations as master of horror Clive Barker? Okay, part time Wizard and full-time curmudgeon Alan Moore is probably the most upset at his work being adapted but Clive is a close second. The sad part is that while he has had fewer of his novels or short stories adapted than someone like Stephen King, he has played a part in more of them and been let down more often than not. He also didn’t have a great beginning with film as his first screenplay Transmutations or Underworld he ended up hating. He first adapted his own work with Rawhead Rex in 1986 and hated the end product there too. Other than 1987’s Hellraiser which he wrote and directed, there hasn’t been something that he was disappointed in or was butchered by the studio and he has become a bit jaded. His films...

Arrow Video Brings the Ultimate Presentation of ‘Trick ‘r Treat’ to 4K for Halloween [Review]
Image
The bungling of Trick ‘r Treat by Warner Bros. — shelving it after well-received festival screenings before unceremoniously dumping it straight to DVD in 2009 — is well-documented, but had it received a traditional theatrical release and underperformed, there’s a chance it may have never entered the cultural zeitgeist. Instead, its authentic cult roots allowed it to blossom into the contemporary classic we celebrate today.

Trick ‘r Treat stands alongside the opening credits of Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers as a felicitous distillation of the Halloween atmosphere on celluloid. Sam, the impish demon played by 7-year-old Quinn Lord that serves as the film’s mascot, personifies the tricks and treats of Halloween while serving as the connective tissue between segments.

Writer-director Michael Dougherty — in his feature debut after making a name for himself as a writer on X2: X-Men United and Superman Returns — evokes Pulp Fiction with his expertly crafted...

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans (2009) – Wtf Happened to This Horror Movie?
Image
We all love a good old forbidden love story, right? Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet has been re-conceptualised countless times over the years; from stylish adaptations by Aussie auteurs, traditional period dramas and with, of all things, gnomes. This is just a drop in the vast ocean of movies that have taken on the Bard’s classic tale, and for the third entry in the popular Underworld series, it was time for a flashback to some forbidden Lycan and vampire love. The first Underworld movie had a backstory that explained how vampires and werewolves came to be mortal enemies, thanks to a feud that began between Michael Sheen’s super sexy Lycan, Lucian, and Bill Nighy’s nosferatu vampire Viktor. You see, hairy Lucian had been secretly romancing the fanged bloodsucker’s daughter Sonja, played by Doomsday’s Rhona Mitra. And with that premise, you can probably guess where this threequel is going.

Underworld: What Happened To Scott Speedmans Michael?
Image
Michael Corvin's character in Underworld played a crucial role as the first hybrid of vampire and werewolf. Scott Speedman's absence from more recent Underworld movies has raised questions about the character's fate. While Michael's story may have ended, Scott Speedman has continued to thrive in his acting career post-Underworld.

Many fans have wondered what happened Scott Speedman's character Michael Corvin in the Underworld franchise, as he seemingly vanished despite being an integral character. The first Underworld had the simple but effective pitch of vampires versus werewolves with a dash of romance thrown in and became a solid hit and helped make Kate Beckinsale a certified action movie star. It wasn't long until the sequel Underworld: Evolution arrived, which pit Death Dealer Selene (Beckinsale) and her lover Michael against the originators of the vampire and werewolf races. The franchise then featured a prequel Underworld: Rise Of The Lycans, but Beckinsale wasn't involved

However,...

Rebel Moon 3: Zack Snyder is Bringing an Old Friend From Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice to Rebel Moon Franchise and Fans Will Absolutely Love It
Image
After leaving the Dceu behind, Zack Snyder has been quite busy with his Rebel Moon franchise which already has two films to its name. The films revolve around a fictional galaxy ruled by something called the Motherworld. Rebel Moon sees Sofia Boutella in the lead role as she does a splendid job of bringing Korra to life. From the cast to the crew, Zack Snyder worked with brilliant people who were on the top of their game.

Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon: Part 2 – The Scargiver

However, it seems like the filmmaker felt that there was still a piece missing from the puzzle. As it turns out, the missing jigsaw piece needed to complete the picture is none other than Patrick Tatopoulos, the Production Designer for Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Now, Zack Snyder is hoping his old friend would help him out on the third Rebel Moon film.

Damsel review | Princess vs dragon? Stranger things have happened
Bobby Brown
It’s Millie Bobby Brown versus dragon in Netflix’s dark fantasy adventure. Here’s our review of Damsel:

By pure coincidence, Damsel arrives on Netflix almost exactly a century after German director Fritz Lang introduced what was likely cinema’s first dragon in 1924’s Die Nibelungen. Lang and his collaborators brought their fearsome creature to life with a mixture of rubber, mechanical joints and puppetry (plus a bit of cocaine if one account is to be believed), and the result has a physical presence that is still captivating 100 years later.

In Damsel, director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo and production designer Patrick Tatopoulos used CGI to create their dragon, but it still has plenty of weight, personality, and most importantly, menace. Unlike the gigantic winged beasts of, say, 1981’s Dragonslayer (which had terrific animation from Phil Tippett) or 2002’s Reign Of Fire, Damsel’s dragon is also relatively compact – it’s...

Where Was Netflix's Damsel Filmed?
Image
Damsel's fantastical kingdom came to life through clever use of sound stages and on-location filming in London and Portugal. London's Troubadour Meridian Water Studios brought Elodie's grand castle and epic caves to reality with practical sets. Portugal's picturesque cities and mountain ranges provided the backdrop for Damsel's unique twist on the classic fantasy tale.

Netflix's Damsel brought a fantastical kingdom and an intricate cave system to life, and this required a variety of unique filming locations. The 2024 film, which stars Millie Bobby Brown as Princess Elodie, is everything you'd want in a fantasy, complete with extravagant castles and breathtaking mountain ranges. It took a mix of cleverly constructed sound stages and on-location filming sites to transport Elodie to her world of queens, princes, and dragons, and Damsel pulled out all the stops to make this happen.

Directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later and Intruders), Netflix's Damsel tells...

Juan Carlos Fresnadillo interview | Damsel, fear, family, and designing a scary dragon
Image
Director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo talks to us about his latest film, Damsel, designing an intimidating dragon, and Millie Bobby Brown facing her fears…

The subject of fear comes up in varying forms during our lively chat with Spanish director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo. There’s the fear induced by the glowering dragon that lies at the heart of his latest film, Damsel, which will stream on Netflix from the 8th March.

There’s the fear experienced by rising star Millie Bobby Brown, who was forced to confront her own claustrophobia when making Damsel; the film’s centre-piece is a lengthy fight for survival in a network of caves inhabited by that fearsome dragon, designed by the legendary Patrick Tatopoulos (those cool bat-type aliens in Pitch Black? Those were his).

Then there’s the fear Fresnadillo felt while making horror sequel 28 Weeks Later in 2007 – the process of editing it, he tells us,...

A B-Movie Beowulf on Steroids: Revisiting the Sci-fi Monster Movie ‘Outlander’
Image
Monster stories are about as old as storytelling itself, with every primitive society coming up with their own unique spin on man-eating creatures. That’s why it makes sense that writers and filmmakers are still providing us with fresh twists on these ancient tales well into the 21st century, though some of these updates are more successful than others. One monstrous re-imagining that I believe deserves a little more love from genre fans is Howard McCain’s Outlander, a 2008 thriller that loosely re-imagines the classic Beowulf story as a sci-fi monster movie.

Curiously enough, the movie that would become Outlander began life way back in 1992, with McCain coming up with an early iteration of the story which was later rewritten by screenwriter Dirk Blackman. This initial version of the film was intended to be produced independently in southern New Zealand, though it was ultimately never made. It was only in...

‘Solomon Kane’ – Appreciating the Pulp Horrors of an Underrated Dark Fantasy Film
Image
With the exception of J.R.R. Tolkien, Robert E. Howard is likely the most influential author in all of fantasy fiction, with his beloved Conan the Barbarian stories transporting avid readers to the thrilling days of high adventure. However, the character also has a surprising link to the horror genre due to Howard’s occasional use of Cosmic Horror elements, something that was at least partially influenced by his long-time friendship with H.P. Lovecraft. Luckily for horror fans, the man-eating beasts and indescribable Elder Gods of Conan weren’t the author’s only foray into spooky tales about steadfast heroes encountering supernatural terror.

Years before Conan first rode out of Cimmeria, Howard was already a well-known figure in the world of weird fiction because of his other popular creation, the demon-hunting puritan known as Solomon Kane. First published in 1928, the swashbuckling hero became incredibly popular with fans of horror and pulp adventures alike,...

Batman's Flying Fox Backstory Revealed in Zack Snyder's Justice League
Image
The entire mythology of Batman is based on Bruce Wayne losing his parents at an early age. As such, each new interpretation of the mythology puts a new spin on the characters of Bruce's parents, Thomas and Martha Wayne. In Zack Snyder's Justice League, Thomas Wayne is presented as a genius inventor, so much so that the film's production designer Patrick Tatopoulos recently revealed in an interview that Thomas actually created the new Batplane, nicknamed the Flying Fox, that features in the story.

"The idea of the Flying Fox is his father's, that he developed for a military purpose. One of them was almost partially built, almost finished, and he just had to adjust and fix it. But the idea is between the two movies Batman has decided he knows what's coming his way, and he's starting to reactivate things. Part of his world that he hasn't used, because...

Zack Snyder's Justice League Plants Seeds for Multiple Sequels, But Will We Ever See Them?
Image
HBO Max will soon witness the arrival of the mythical "Snyder Cut" of Justice League, the movie that seemed like an impossible dream at one point. Warner executives and Zack Snyder himself have repeatedly stated that Zack Snyder's Justice League is going to be a one-off affair. But the fact remains the film was initially meant to set up two sequels and multiple spinoffs. In an interview with CinemaBlend, the Snyder Cut's production designer Patrick Tatopoulos affirmed the film will plant the seeds for many possible follow-up movies.

"I mean, I'll tell you, the Anti-life Equation, that moment is where you get to the next level. The next world is a much bigger world. What Zack had done, and I can't stop describing it, but in his office at Warners he had these gigantic boards on the wall where he's starting to draft the three movies like this. And I thought that was unbelievable.

2020 Adg Awards winners: Full list of Art Directors Guild champs in film and TV
Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, and Joe Pesci in The Irishman (2019)
The 24th annual Art Directors Guild Awards, which honors the best production design in film and television, took place Saturday, February 1. All eyes were on the Period Film category, which this year had four nominees match up with the Oscars for Best Production Design: “The Irishman,” “Jojo Rabbit,” “1917” and “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.” The other two Adg period contenders were “Ford v Ferrari” and “Joker,” while the Oscars’ fifth bid went to “Parasite,” which was up for Contemporary Film at the guild. Scroll down to see the full winners list for the 2020 Adg Awards.

2020 Art Directors Guild Awards nominations include Oscar frontrunners ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,’ ‘The Irishman’ and ‘1917’
On December 9, the Art Directors Guild announced the nominees for its 24th annual awards, which will be handed out on Feb. 1. These kudos have a stellar record at previewing the Academy Awards. Over the first 23 years of these prizes, the eventual Oscar winner for Best Production Design has always numbered among the Adg nominees in the various categories.

According to our expert predictions, period film contender “Once Upon A Time in Hollywood” is the clear frontrunner to win the Oscar for Best Production Design. We expect that three of its rival in that race at the Adg — “The Irishman,” “Jojo Rabbit” and “1917” — will also contend at the Oscars. The fifth Academy Awards nominee is expected to be “Little Women,” but its odds might lengthen after being snubbed by the guild.

“The Irishman” – Bob Shaw

“Jojo Rabbit” – Ra Vincent

“Joker” – Mark Friedberg

After helming the underwhelming “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales,” Scandinavian director Joachim Rønning returned to Disney to navigate “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil.” His creative interest was piqued by the maternal war between Michelle Pfeiffer’s divisive Queen Ingrith and Angelina Jolie’s conflicted Maleficent, along with with the introduction of the oppressed dark fey (led by Chiwetel Ejiofor).

At Disney’s D23, Jolie said that the much-hyped sequel to the 2014 hit is about families “being pulled apart by their differences” and fighting “for the belief that what makes you different, makes you stronger.” Rønning echoed the political relevance with his own assessment of Queen Ingrith as a Trump-like ruler. “I do think that it was so interesting to see Michelle Pfeiffer as Queen Ingrith dictating the narrative of the story and how it resembles a little bit today’s society,” he said in a recent interview with IndieWire.

Cyborg Gets Crucified in Dark Justice League Concept Art
Ben Affleck, Jeremy Irons, Amy Adams, Henry Cavill, Jason Momoa, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, and Ray Fisher in Justice League (2017)
Justice League production designer Patrick Tatopoulos has shared some more concept art of Ray Fisher's Cyborg. Tatopoulos has worked with Zack Snyder several times over the years and it is believed they will be working together again in the future. Both men have an attraction to the darker elements in their projects and it really looks like Cyborg was going to have a much larger part in the DC ensemble movie and that is was going to be a lot darker from what ended up on the big screen.

Patrick Tatopoulos' Cyborg concept art is something that he shared "just for fun." The Justice League character can be seen in mostly dark red and black with some religious undertones. It's a rather haunting image and it seems like it would fit in perfectly with the artwork of the band Tool. It actually looks similar to one of their album...

Rufus Sewell in Dark City (1998)
‘Dark City’ 20th anniversary: The underrated sci-fi classic was released in 1998, but got no love from the Oscars
Rufus Sewell in Dark City (1998)
“Dark City” was released on February 27, 1998, and it helped me fall in love with movies. It also sparked my interest in awards. During the same period I was wrestling with continued Emmy snubs for “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Dark City” made me wonder how the Oscars could miss the boat on what is still one of the most visually and narratively innovative films I’ve seen. So on its 20th anniversary I decided to revisit the underrated science-fiction gem, which deserved Oscars 20 years ago.

“Dark City” was a unique amalgam of genres with elements of murder mystery, film noir, horror and sci-fi dystopia, using those tropes to examine human memory and how we construct and perform our identities. It was undoubtedly a tough sell for New Line Cinema, and even tougher when you consider that at the time “Titanic” was still swimming circles around other releases at the box office.

Batman Almost Had a Motorcycle in Justice League and Here Are some Sketches of It
Batman had two vehicles in Justice League, the Batmobile and the Flying Fox. However, there was almost a third vehicle. Production designer for Justice League, Patrick Tatopoulos recently shared a couple sketches with the world on Instagram of concepts for the Batbike. I find the design to be very intriguing. It doesn’t have wheels indicating a futuristic hoverbike approach. It is also much sleeker and dare I say sexier than the Batbike we were treated to in the Dark Knight trilogy. It is very angular with the seat even looking similar to a batarang. What do you think of this Batbike? Should it make an appearance in The Batman?

Batbike? ...I wish. Another quick doodle on the side of my dreams. #patricktatopoulosdesigns #justiceleague #batman #dc #bike #superbike #motorcycle #design #sexy #dark #fashion...

Unused Batcycle Revealed in New Justice League Concept Art
Ben Affleck, Jeremy Irons, Amy Adams, Henry Cavill, Jason Momoa, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, and Ray Fisher in Justice League (2017)
As fans get ready to head back to theaters for a second viewing of Justice League over the holiday weekend, production designer Patrick Tatopoulos is showing off some early designs. The production designer unveiled artwork depicting an updated Batcycle, that ultimately wasn't seen in the finished movie. It isn't known how this unique vehicle may have fit into the story, or if scenes with these vehicle were actually shot and discarded. The production designer also unveiled some designs for the Flying Fox as well, the Batman aerial transport that actually was seen in the movie.

The images were revealed on Instagram, although Patrick Tatopoulos didn't offer any details about his work and why the Batcycle ultimately wasn't used in the movie. It also isn't known if, like previous versions of the Batcycle, this vehicle is one that actually detaches from the Batmobile. But given the new upgraded version of the...

New Justice League Art Reveals The Caped Crusader’s Batbike
From the Flying Fox to the souped-up Batwing, it’s fair to say Bruce Wayne brought the big guns to Justice League.

But it seems the Caped Crusader’s arsenal was actually trimmed prior to release, as production designer Patrick Tatopoulos (via ComicBook.com) has posted some never-before-seen concept art of the Batbike. And whereas the Batpod was the hulking beast of Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy, what with its front-mounted cannons and plane-sized tires, this so-called Batbike is much more angular in its design, which is arguably inspired by the wings of a bat more than anything else. How very fitting.

Sadly, it never made the cut, and that’s really been the story of Justice League ever since Warner’s big-budget ensemble piece fell flat on November 17th. Six days on, and fans are now petitioning Warner Bros. for a director’s cut – that online petition has...

Justice League Concept Art Shows Off Batman's Flying Fox Jet
Thanks to EW, we have a new piece of concept art to share with you from Justice League. The art features Batman's jet, which is called the Flying Fox. The aerial vehicle was built to transport the Justice League around the world while and also a variety of vehicles like the Batmobile. As you can see, Batman is joined by the rest of the team in the art. When talking about the jet, production designer Patrick Tatopoulos said:

“You can put three Batmobiles in the lower part of it. I didn’t want to do a sleek airplane; it needed to feel like an extremely avant-garde classic. With the maneuverability of a jet—but it can actually carry things.“The bottom part of the jet is a huge cargo bay, which the Batmobile sits in. The second floor is like a cultural center, with computer terminals. The third story is the cockpit.

The Flying Fox Is Batman’s Shiny New Toy In Justice League, And It’s A Monster
Bruce Wayne isn’t one to do things by halves.

From the lavish Batcave to the souped-up Batwing and everything in between, Gotham City’s Dark Knight has an arsenal that would rival a small army. And in Justice League, Bats will need to call upon his latest and greatest weapons if he’s to fend off the invading Steppenwolf and his nightmarish Parademons.

At the crux of that arsenal is the Flying Fox, a gargantuan command center big enough to house three – count ’em, three – Batmobiles. And that’s just on the first deck. Unveiled today via Entertainment Weekly, the huge aerial vehicle will essentially serve as Justice League HQ come November, and it’ll allow all five members (sorry, Supes) to travel around the world. Think of it as a smaller, more refined version of the McU’s helicarriers.

Per EW, production designer Patrick Tatopoulos (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice...

Batman V Superman Concept Art Shows a Bat-Creature Design That Was Almost in the Film
Remember those crazy nightmares that Bruce Wayne was having in Batman v Superman? Well, there was a crazy looking Bat-creature that was supposed to be in one of those, and thanks to production designer Patrick Tatopoulos, you can see what that creature was going to look like. I love the wicked and terrifying look of the creature that is basically Batman as a monster. There was just no place in the story for it. The first thing I thought of when I saw the art was a quote from Stephen King's It, where Pennywise the Clown says, "Kiss me fat boy!" Then my mind immediately changed it to the creature saying to Bruce Wayne, "Kiss me bat boy!"

New Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice Concept Art Focuses On Bruce Wayne's Nightmare
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice production designer Patrick Tatopoulos has shared a new piece of concept art from the movie, and as you can see, it features a new look at the "bat creature" which attacked Bruce Wayne during his nightmare. Many fans assumed that this was actually Man-Bat and that the Dark Knight was seeing one of his many foes, but it now appears as if it's just a monster. Even so, this artwork is great, and it's interesting to get an idea of the process which went into creating it. Tatopoulos has also been hired to work on Justice League, so with any luck, we'll one day get to see some of his work from that too. As for a trailer, there's still no word on when it might land, though it being attached to Kong: Skull Island still seems like the most likely possibility. What do you guys think?...

Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice Featurette Delves Deeper Into The Batcave
The arrival of the Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Edition has given fans an opportunity to experience more of Zack Snyder’s universe. With an extra thirty minutes of additional footage inserted back into the movie, resulting in an R-rating, this longer cut is being heralded as a far more rounded piece of cinema. And, as is the case with home video, it’s also given us more insight as to how Snyder and his team crafted the world inhabited by two of comic book history’s most decorated heroes.

In the latest featurette to appear online, titled Constructing the Batcave, production designer Patrick Tatopoulos talks through the challenges of creating a fresh take on Bruce Wayne’s playboy hideaway.

“It’s very urban,” says Tatopoulos. “Although you’re in a crazy cave, you never feel claustrophobic in here… If you look at the set, every structure is actually floating.

Get Your First Look At The Dark Knight's Upgraded Batmobile For Zack Snyder's Justice League
The Batmobile is back... and if you thought the version we saw in Batman V Superman was (too?) lethal, this upgraded vehicle is packing even more firepower. "You have missile launchers, you have cannons, you have machine guns," explained production designer Patrick Tatopoulos. In addition to the image, we have lots of details on some of the other tech we can expect to see in the movie. Apparently the team will have their own airship called The Flying Fox, which is large enough to fit the Batmobile inside it. If you're imagining the potential action sequences that allows for, you're not the only one. Plus, the League will have access to another bit of Bat-tech: a one-person vehicle known as the Nightcrawler. "There's an action set piece -- we're gonna take you to this tunnel," producer Deborah Snyder explained. "It's a tunnel they were gonna build between Metropolis and Gotham and it had been abandoned,...

Welcome to the DC Weekly, where every week we cover the land of DC comics, TV, and movies. Be it random bits of news, TV show reactions, or miscellaneous reviews or speculation, you can be sure to get your DC fix here!

News-LETAbout That Doomsday Piece…

First off, I’d like to apologize.

A few days ago, I ran a piece about an interview with “Batman v Superman” production designer Patrick Tatopoulos. In the interview he talked about Doomsday not being the final act of the film.

Well, it turns out that interview was completely fabricated.

Doomsday Isn't the Biggest Threat in 'Batman v Superman'
Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)
When the third trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice arrived earlier this month, it gave fans their first look at the massive villain Doomsday, who had long been rumored as part of this massive superhero adventure. While many fans were upset that this trailer revealed too much, there is still much we don't know about how Doomsday fits into the story. The French magazine Premiere (courtesy of Cosmic Book News) managed to catch up with production designer Patrick Tatopoulos, who revealed that Doomsday will evolve throughout Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

"We are able to tell a story in a fresh way. Doomsday is an evolution essentially. Fans may be aware of the death of Superman story, but this is handled in such a new way. When the film is called Batman v or versus Superman, it really has a lot of levels to the meaning. Superman...

There Will Be a Bigger Villainous Threat Than Doomsday in Batman V Superman
A lot of fans complained about the last trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice because some people think that it showed way too much. I was actually really surprised that they threw Doomsday in there. I thought that element would have been something they'd want save for people to see when they saw the movie, but I guess not.

Doomsday made his debut in 1992's "The Death of Superman" story arc, and as you saw in the trailer Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) creates the monstrous villain using Zod's (Michael Shannon) dead body. This threat will unite Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill), and Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot).

Turns out there is actually going to be more to it than that, and there's something big in the story that hasen't officially been revealed yet. During an interview with Premiere, production designer Patrick Tatopoulos talked about the film and assured...

Will Batman V Superman Have A Bigger Threat Than Doomsday?
Update: Premiere France is calling into question the fact that the interview with production designer Patrick Tatopoulos took place in their publication. For now, take this with a grain of salt. Earlier: The most recent trailer for Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice had some pretty cool stuff to see, but it also had a number of problems. Primary among these was the fact that it showed off a lot. It gave us the major reveal of Doomsday as a villain as well showing Wonder Woman joining the fight against him. It appeared that ...

'Batman v Superman': New Potentially Game-Changing Doomsday Details Revealed!
To say the recent "Batman v Superman" trailer was divisive among fans would be something of an understatement. Some fans adored the action and the increasingly hostile tête-à-tête between Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent at the trailer's beginning, while some couldn't overlook the large amount of CG and more importantly, the reveal of Doomsday. Sure, fans knew that by the end of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," Batman and Superman would be pals, and that justice will have dawned. It's in the title of the film, after all. But some would argue that "Batman v Superman" is also in the title, and that you eliminate all tension when you actually show them working together in what we expect to be the final act of the movie...or at least what we expected to be the final act of the movie.

In a recent interview with French magazine Premiere (via...
