Kristen Stewart is getting for her big moment at Cannes!
The 35-year-old Oscar-nominated actress stopped by a hair salon for an appointment on Friday afternoon (May 9) in Los Angeles.
For her outing, Kristen sported a white sportsbra paired with white sweatpants.
Next week, Kristen is expected to be in the South of France for the 2025 Cannes Film Festival where she will be premiering her directorial debut The Chronology of Water!
Here’s the synopsis from the Cannes website: “Brought up in an environment torn apart by violence and alcohol, Lidia Yuknavitch seemed destined for self-destruction and failure until words offered her unexpected freedom in the form of literature. The Chronology of Water, adapted from Yuknavitch’s autobiographical bestseller, follows Lidia’s journey to find her own voice in an exploration of how trauma can be transformed into art through re-possessing our own bloody histories, particularly those uniquely experienced by the bodies of women and girls.

The Twilight Saga movie series, which made Robert Pattinson a household name, did not age well among fans. Despite earning huge worldwide, cinephiles and critics still hate the movies for several reasons. But despite so much trolling, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, the second movie in the franchise, dominates in the latest streaming charts.
When ranked among the movies, The Twilight Saga: New Moon is still considered among the worst. From Robert Pattinson and the other cast’s performance to the problematic storyline, the movie has little to no positive aspects. Surprisingly, its streaming status tells a different story.

Eleanor the Great, The Chronology of Water and Urchin are all in the festival’s prestigious Un Certain Regard sidebar. A first step to being the next Clint Eastwood?
First-time directors with films premiering at Cannes next week would be forgiven for feeling nervous. But three of the directors who are unveiling their debut features in France are less likely than their peers to be quaking as they approach the red carpet.
Actors Scarlett Johansson, Kristen Stewart and Harris Dickinson are all among the film-makers with movies screening in Cannes’ prestigious sidebar Un Certain Regard over the next 10 days.

Finally, they would have been 22. Thierry Frémaux reportedly received Bi Gan‘s third feature film at the last possible moment and the reason it wasn’t announced during the second wave is because the ever-unpredictable Chinese censors ensured an eleventh-hour type of inclusion. “Resurrection,” is part of 2025 Palme d’Or competition line-up – a first time for the Chinese filmmaker. Les Films du Losange (who repped other eleventh hour inclusions in Kristen Stewart’s The Chronology of Water and Nadav Lapid’s Yes) are the sales company backing this project.

First published in 2023, author Sian Gilbert’s debut novel She Started It is now set to receive the film adaptation treatment – and Variety reports that Jessica Sharzer, who wrote the 2018 film A Simple Favor (based on a novel by Darcey Bell) and co-wrote the newly released sequel Another Simple Favor with Laeta Kalogridis, will be directing the film. Sharzer has previously directed a few short films, an episode of The L Word, and the 2004 coming-of-age drama Speak, which starred Kristen Stewart.
She Started It follows Annabel, Esther, Tanya and Chloe, once inseparable childhood friends who have since drifted apart. Their adult lives haven’t unfolded quite as they’d imagined, but a shared past and buried secrets have kept them loosely connected. When they receive an invitation from former classmate Poppy Greer to an extravagant bachelorette weekend on a private island, curiosity, and the promise of luxury, pulls them back together.

Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Thunderbolts* is in theaters and wow, what a storm it brought to the franchise, especially with Sentry officially flowing into the MCU. Among its chaotic anti-hero crew, one golden god stood out, Bob aka Sentry. Of course, fans have been impatiently waiting for him ever since the trailer teased a glimpse of the unhinged powerhouse, but now we’ve seen him all, and it’s time to say the casting switch was a blessing in disguise.
Played by Lewis Pullman, Sentry featured an intense, eerie, and oddly sympathetic character, yet another dangerously unstable mix that worked perfectly for Marvel’s terrifying hero. And Pullman’s pure comic-book chaos performance made us forget the once imagined Steven Yeun donning the golden cape version. Honestly, Sentry might just be Marvel’s most haunting big-screen debut yet, all thanks to the casting choice.

One of the most widely acclaimed movies of the past decade was 2019's "Parasite," which became the first non-English language film to win the Academy Award for Best Picture. Directed and co-written by South Korean filmmaker Bong Joon Ho, the movie featured a financially struggling family getting more than they bargain for when they infiltrate a rich family's home. Blending dark humor with thriller action and themes of increasingly divided social classes, "Parasite" opened Korean cinema to larger audiences. And for those left on the edge of their seats hoping for more, there are plenty of intense movies, both from Korea and beyond, to keep the thrills coming.
Long before "Parasite," Korea has steadily delivered some of the best thrillers in global entertainment, both for cinema and television. But to be clear, this list isn't exclusively comprised of South Korean thrillers, but they do figure prominently here. Instead, these are dark thrillers,...

If Disney could rub a magic lamp and wish for the year 2025 to begin again, it likely would. The studio will have learned its lessons by now, after having delivered two massive under-performers at the box office. But perhaps there was no saving Captain America: Brave New World and Snow Whiteat all. There was a reason why the two movies were delayed, and it would appear that the concern was warranted. Now firmly at the end of its theatrical run, Snow White is struggling to pass what will be its final global box office milestone. This, too, will be a largely ceremonial achievement, as it has no chance of becoming profitable theatrically.
With $85 million domestically and another $110 million from overseas markets, Snow White’s cumulative global haul stands at $195 million so far. Does it have the $5 million necessary to hit the $200 million mark? Who knows? What’s for certain is...

On this week’s Screen Talk, co-hosts Anne Thompson and Ryan Lattanzio dig into Ryan Coogler’s $90-million period vampire musical “Sinners,” starring Michael B. Jordan as twins Smoke and Stack, as well as the boffo box office and the controversial deal.
Warners opened the movie to a bigger-than-expected $48 million Easter weekend, and a weak $15 million overseas. The only other horror film to ever earn an A CinemaScore was James Cameron’s sequel “Aliens” in 1986. It’s rare and bodes well for a broader audience. Nearly half of the opening-day audience was Black, which increased to 38 percent by the weekend’s end.
Warners has bragging rights over this one and, with “A Minecraft Movie,” enjoyed two movies grossing over $40 million. It spells some relief for embattled studio heads Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy. The movie is original and unusual, and thoughtful and entertaining enough to warrant success. It’s...

When you're a young actor beginning to make a bit of headway in Hollywood, you might be tempted to look ahead at what your career could be five years from now and strategize with your agent to target roles in the types of films that best showcase your talents. Perhaps you come alive in romantic comedies. Maybe you're ideal as a hissable heavy. It's possible you're the Laurence Olivier of grease-stained ex-con mechanics who get harassed by detectives while toiling away at the undercarriage of a car. You might know where you're headed, but you don't want to cut off opportunities before you're booking steady work.
Consider the career of Russell Johnson. The man who would be Professor Roy Hinkley on "Gilligan's Island" survived getting shot down by the Japanese military during World War II before seeking fame and fortune as an actor in Hollywood. He had every right to...

We are now far enough removed from the glittercore of early 2000s pop music that its bubble-gum aesthetic has become as potent a post-Y2K period signifier as low-rise jeans and blond highlights. French filmmaker Alexis Langlois’ deliciously campy musical “Queens of Drama” feels like it’s been conjured up inside a Claire’s store where “…Baby One More Time” keeps playing on loop. But this tragic queer love story between a pop star and a punk rocker doesn’t let the patina of nostalgia that envelops it cloud the thorny ideas about queerness, performance, feminism and femininity that Langlois packs into his gleefully deranged period piece.
Such derangement is immediately apparent. In its first moments, Langlois turns his audience into “U-Tube” viewers tuning into the latest missive from an aging vlogger. Steevy Shady is played by Eurovision contestant and famed YouTuber Bilal Hassani. Sporting pink-hued wraparound sunglasses, a horrid asymmetrical blond-streaked hairdo,...

When Thierry Frémaux announced the initial slate for the 78th Cannes Film Festival earlier this month, there were several rumored filmmakers who, quizzically, weren’t part of the reveal. One filmmaker, Spike Lee, saw his passion project “Highest 2 Lowest” added within hours after star Denzel Washington committed to appear on La Croisette. Two of the other most buzzed about additions occurred today, as Kristen Stewart’s directorial debut, “The Chronology of Water,” and a highly anticipated new Lynne Ramsay film, “Die My Love,” were formally invited to the festival.

As is tradition, the Cannes Film Festival has announced late-breaking additions to its 2025 festival lineup, with new films coming from Lynne Ramsay, and Saeed Roustayi.
The 78th edition will now include Ramsay’s “Die, My Love,” starring Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson, in the competition. All the Scottish director’s previous films have premiered at Cannes; the dark martial comedy/horror is her first film since 2017’s “You Were Never Really Here” won the Cannes Best Screenplay prize. Here, Jennifer Lawrence plays a wife unraveling in the country, and married to Pattinson’s character. Lakeith Stanfield, Nick Nolte, and Sissy Spacek also star in this adaptation of Ariana Harwicz’s novel. Ramsay wrote the script with Enda Walsh and Alice Birch.
The film made it into Cannes just in time as hoped, and this means we’ll be seeing Lawrence and Pattinson standing in front of glittering flash bulbs on the Palais red carpet.
