The pair join forces for Amish Stud: The Eli Weaver Story, which finds the couple plotting a murder.
The Lifetime original movie premieres Saturday, September 30, at 8 p.m. on the cabler and focuses on an affair gone wrong.
The flick revisits the story of a man who called himself "Amish Stud" and his plan with his mistress to murder his wife, to the horror of his conservative Amish community.
Amish Stud is based on the book A Killing in Amish Country: Sex, Betrayal and a Cold-Blooded Murder by bestselling authors Gregg Olsen and Rebecca Morris.
"Devoted to her husband, kids, and faith, Barbara Weaver (Miranda MacDougall) was content leading a traditional life in her conservative Ohio Amish community -- with no modern conveniences," the logline teases.

Premiering on October 25, 1997, Under Wraps was the inaugural Disney Channel Original Movie. The cornerstone of the network’s programming proved to be as close to appointment viewing as it got for ‘90s kids, along with the likes of ABC’s Tgif and Nickelodeon’s Snick. Moreover, Under Wraps served as a gateway to horror for many millennials. Before the age of streaming, catching a mummy movie on the same channel where you watched Disney cartoons and Boy Meets World reruns could have been your first exposure to the macabre.
Disney attempted to recapture the magic with last year’s Under Wraps remake. The original movie was successful — and continues to hold up 25 years later — for several reasons; relatable kid leads, a great Halloween atmosphere, and a sense of humor chief among them. Director/co-writer Alex Zamm and co-writer William Robertson (Inspector Gadget 2) smartly maintained those elements for the new iteration.

Dwayne Johnson is finally set to join the Dceu. After years of being attached to the role, The Rock at last officially announced his Black Adam movie earlier this month. As well as Shazam’s nemesis, the film is expected to tap into the Justice Society of America and the Golden Age heroes from DC lore as well. This has been confirmed by Johnson himself and we already know that Doctor Fate is one character set to appear, with a big star apparently being eyed to play him.
According to sources close to We Got This Covered – the same ones who told us the seeds for the Justice Society of America would be planted in the film almost a year ago, well before The Rock confirmed it – Warner Bros. is looking at Michael Fassbender for the role of Doctor Fate in Black Adam. Apparently, the studio’s interested in having...

She whispers in his ear and Rick (Brent Stait) goes home where he kills his wife (Kimberly Unger). Bobby (Jim Beaver) tells the others how hunters are finding vampires, ghouls, werewolves, on the I-80. Dean (Jensen Ackles) refers to it as the monster march. They speak to Rick in jail and Bobby tags along too, all having to don suits. Sam (Jared Padalecki) views footage and they see Eve (Julia Maxwell). Dean: "freakish nightmare what the hell was that?" Watching a boy become a man takes well over the 18 years that mark the official transition. Watching an alien boy become a man of steel is nine years in the making so far and is due to be wrapped up after one more year. In real life, there are many moments that define a person with a lot of mundane filler in between. The same can be said for this origin story that has slowly woven pieces of prior incarnations of our beloved Kryptonian into a completely new hero. Thankfully, the pace picks up in season nine as we inch closer to the climax.
Clark Kent, played by Tom Welling, is about to test for his brown belt in superheroism.

This week marks a pretty big event for the gang over at Smallville as they encounter the Justice Society of America for the first time. Granted, this isn’t the first time other DC superheroes have made it onto the show, with characters like Green Arrow, Aquaman, Black Canary, and others joining in the fray from time to time. With all those characters making appearances in the past, there’s still something even more special about this week’s two-hour episode.
While this season has brought up some interesting plots including Braniac, the Legion, Metallo, and others, this coming event, written by Geoff Johns, seems to take the cake. From Kryptonsite:

"Smallville" returns to The CW Friday (Jan. 29) after a two-month-plus hiatus, but what we're really looking forward to is the episode after that.
That would be the two-hour "Absolute Justice" episode, in which Clark (Tom Welling) meets up with members of the Justice Society of America: Hawkman (Michael Shanks), Doctor Fate (Brent Stait) and Stargirl (Britt Irvin). The CW has released a teaser trailer for the two-hour event (Welling, incidentally, directed the second half); take a look.
Nice atmosphere, right? Per the network, Clark will uncover the Justice Society's old headquarters while he and Chloe (Allison Mack) are investigating a murder. Someone, it seems, is targeting former members of the group, and Stargirl is trying to convince her cohorts to band together again.
"Absolute Justice" airs Friday, Feb. 5.

On February 5, Smallville will air "Absolute Justice."
This two-hour event is receiving a great deal of hype - and deservedly so. It will introduce Clark to the Justice Society of America, mainly represented by Hawkman (Michael Shanks), Dr. Fate (Brent Stait) and Stargirl (Britt Irvin).
What actually prompts this much-ballyhooed meeting?
“I can’t say too much about this, but there is a death that occurs at the beginning of the episode,” Irvin told Fancast.com. “And that brings [the Jsa] together with Clark and his team.”
Not all characters get along well at first, Irvin added, saying: “Stargirl has a bit of friction with Green Arrow at the beginning, as does Hawkman."
The actress, who has a recurring role on V as Haley Stark, concluded by emphasizing her character's "special connection" with Clark. How come?

Ha, look, Green Arrow is getting his ass kicked again. Remember when Green Arrow was actually a cool character on “Smallville”? Now everytime I see him on the show, he’s getting his ass kicked. I mean, by everyone. Some chick. Some dudes. Some gangbangers. It looks like Green Arrow’s status as “Smallville’s” resident punching bag will continue in the “Smallville” two-hour Justice Society-themed movie “Absolute Justice”. Check out two images from the upcoming February 5 episode below via EW. The “event” episode will guest-star “Stargate” fave Michael Shanks as Hawkman (seen below putting the smack down on Green Arrow), Brent Stait as Doctor Fate, and Britt Irvin as Stargirl. The Doctor’s costume looks completely impractical, though the abs on Stargirl is kinda hot. But first, the video promo for the upcoming episode:...

There's been a lot of buzz surrounding the upcoming two-part "Smallville" arc "Absolute Justice" — and not just because of the involvement of comics scribe Geoff Johns. Along with introducing Michael Shanks as Hawkman, the story will also debut a few more members of DC's Justice Society of America: Doctor Fate (Brent Stait) and Stargirl (Britt Irvin).
And now Entertainment Weekly offers our first images of the Jsa trio in costume — including the expected showdown between Hawkman and Green Arrow, who never did see eye-to-eye in the comics world.
"Absolute Justice" kicks off February 5 with the first of two episodes bringing the Jsa into the "Smallville" universe. Previously, Shanks revealed some details about the version of Hawkman he'll play in the series.

A few pictures from "Smallville's" two-hour Justice Society movie have made their way online, revealing the looks of several superhero guest stars.
The two episodes, "Society" and "Legends," will feature, among other characters, DC Comics heroes Hawkman, Doctor Fate and Stargirl. The show, which has so far shied away from putting Clark Kent (Tom Welling) in full Superman regalia, apparently doesn't have such qualms about its guest stars. Take a look at "Stargate's" Michael Shanks as Hawkman:
Brent Stait ("Andromeda") is under the helmet as Doctor Fate, and Britt Irvin ("V") is playing Stargirl.
Hawkman and Oliver Queen/Green Arrow (Justin Hartley) have a bit of a disagreement -- as they so often do in the comics.
"Society" and "Legends" -- which are being packaged together as a movie titled "Absolute Justice" -- are set to air Feb. 5.

"Smallville" shares a good first look at two members of Justice Society of America (Jsa) who will appear in the two-hour event next year. Brent Stait and Britt Irvin dressed up in costume to portray Doctor Fate and Stargirl respectively in episode "Absolute Justice", airing February 5.
Doctor Fate, in the comic version, possesses mystical powers which can be associated to sorcery. With the Helmet of Nabu, he is resistant to injury and has super power strength. Meanwhile, Stargirl is a trained gymnastic and thus she has the agility needed to fight. She also has a Cosmic Converter Belt which can shoot stars.
Along with the still of Fate and Stargirl, The CW also releases the one that shows a confrontation between Hawkman and Green Arrow. "They have completely different views on just about everything you can imagine. Hawkman has this sort of antiquated, conservative point of view, while Oliver is the 'liberal bleeding heart'.

But before fans can get excited about that possibility, they're focusing on February 5. That's the date on which The CW hit airs a special, two-hour episode based around the iconic Justice Society.
It will be titled "Absolute Justice."
The network has released a pair of photos from the movie-like installment. The first features a confrontation between Justin Hartley’s Green Arrow and Michael Shanks’ Hawkman:

A New trailer for Smallville Season 9 offers an exciting glimpse of superheroes in the Justice Society of America, including Doctor Fate.
Brent Stait (Stargate, Blade: The Series, Andromeda) will play the hero in a Smallville TV movie called Absolute Justice which airs on February 5 in the USA. It's the character's first live-action appearance.
Doctor Fate - real name Kent Nelson - first appeared in DC Comics in 1940. He wears a helmet possessed by the spirit of the sorcerer Nabu which grants him abilities including flight, strength, invulnerability, teleportation and control over matter and energy.
Additionally, he wears around his neck the golden Amulet of Anubis, which bestows further magical abilities.
In the comics, others have also taken the Doctor Fate identity over the years.

Smallville is a show that hasn’t really generated that much intense interest with with true fanboys in it’s 9 seasons, yet we are all pretty excited about the upcoming “Ultimate Justice” event, in which the Justice Society of America make an appearance on the show. We already got a brief look at Michael Shanks as Hawkman earlier last week, and now we get much more to salivate over.
The episode was originally called “Society,” but due to the magnitude of the story, has been stretched to a two-part event entitled “Ultimate Justice.” As well as Shanks, the rest of the guest cast is filled out by Brent Stait (Andromeda) as Kent Nelson/Doctor Fate, Britt Irvin (Courtney Whitmore/Stargirl), Phil Morris as John Jones/Martian Manhunter, and Erica Carroll (Reunion) as Dr. Fate’s wife, Inza.

"Smallville" will take a two-month break starting this week and when it returns on January 22, it will bring along the Justice Society of America (Jsa). The episode called "Disciple" sees Clark getting the help he needs much to save the world from the grasp of General Zod.
Jsa is comprised of several superheroes such as Hawkman, Stargirl, Doctor Fate, Atom and Spectre but only three out of them have had their actors announced. Brent Stait is playing Dr. Fate, while Britt Irvin is in the shoes of Stargirl. Meanwhile, the actor to play Hawkman, whose first look has been shared, will be Michael Shanks.
Hawkman in particular won't get along with Green Arrow as Justin Hartley put it, "They have completely different views on just about everything you can imagine. Hawkman has this sort of antiquated, conservative point of view, while Oliver is the 'liberal bleeding heart'. Together, they are a match made in hell.

Here's your first look at what Hawkman looks like in the universe of Smallville (and he looks pretty much like his DC Comics' counterpart.) The image comes from Entertainment Weekly, specifically from Michael Ausiello's ongoing column, along with the info that the previous two-part Justice League Smallville episode will now be broadcast as a one-night two-hour movie.
The two episodes are titled "Society" and "Legends" individually but together the movie will be known as Smallville: Absolute Justice. Michael Shanks (Daniel Jackson of Stargate Sg-1 fame) plays Hawkman, Andromeda's Brent Stait will play Dr. Fate, Brittney Irvin will play Stargirl and Pam Grier will be Amanda Waller, the no-nonense leader of the government superheroes. The episode has been written by Justice Society comic book writer Geoff Johns, so the material comes straight from the geek source.
Smallville: Absolute Justice will air February 5, 2010. Comic book bags and boards to be sold individually.

As we reported a few weeks back, the gang on Smallville will be getting another big surprise from the DC Universe, after Metallo and General Zod already made appearances this season. It was announced that members of the Justice Society, Hawkman, Dr. Fate, and Stargirl would be making appearances, with DC superstar Geoff Johns writing the episode.
Later, it was announced that Hawkman will be played by Michael Shanks (Daniel Jackson of TV’s Stargate franchise), Brent Stait (Stargate Atlantis) will play Doctor Fate, and Britt Irvin (ABC’s V) will play Stargirl. We’re now getting our first glimpse at the costume for Michael Shanks’ Hawkman, and it’s quite impressive.

Not only it is now confirmed that playing Hawkman on "Smallville" will be Michael Shanks, the first look of the actor as the DC Comics superhero has also been shared. Additionally, TV Guide Magazine acquired an interview with Shanks who will appear as the flying hero on a two-hour movie event airing on February 5.
On the physical appearance, Shanks revealed that the "Smallville" version won't exactly follow the comic. "No nudity," he affirmed. Entertainment Weekly has learned that the CW are planning to air the upcoming Justice Society-heavy Smallville two-parter (“Society” and “Legends) as a two hour movie event on January 29th 2010. Penned by comic bookwriter Geoff Johns, the television movie will feature the arrival of Justice Society members Hawkman (Michael Shanks), Doctor Fate (Brent Stait), Stargirl (Britt Irvin), and the return of Phil Morris as Martian Manhunter. The storyline apparently involves Clark crossing paths with the Justice Society characters, who have come out of retirement to meet up with an old foe. I stopped watching Smallville about 5 or 6 years ago (which in retrospect, was probably 4 or 5 seasons longer than I should have), so I really don't care about this latest development. It also seems that releasing a two episode arc under the package of a two hour television movie was just a last minute decision, and not much ...

There's no announcement yet on a UK transmission date for Season 9 of Smallville, which is already airing in the USA, but there is plenty of information leaking out on some of the new characters and storylines.
These fall into the realm of spoilers, so if you don't want to know anything about Season 9 don't say you haven't been warned and don't click to the next page.
Firstly, Green Arrow's sidekick Speedy will make an appearance in an episode called Crossfire when Oliver Queen (Justin Hartley) takes a young street girl called Mia (Elise Gatien) under his wing. There has been a female Speedy in the comic books, although the first to take that name was a youth called Roy Harper who later became Red Arrow.
Also, an episode called Disciple will feature Steve Bacic as a character called Dark Archer, who is the former mentor/tutor to the Green Arrow.

Late last night, IGN revealed who will be playing the three members from the Jsa appearing on the show, most of whom are Stargate alums. Hawkman will be played by Michael Shanks (Daniel Jackson of Stargate fame), Brent Stait (Stargate Atlantis) will play Doctor Fate, and newcomer Britt Irvin will play Stargirl. Warners continues to showcase their DC comic book characters on the Vancouver-lensed "Superman" TV series Smallville. 'Speedy', the former 'junkie' sidekick of 'emerald archer' 'Green Arrow' will debut in the show this month, alongside female super-villain 'Roulette' (Steph Song). DC Comics' "Justice Society Of America" members set to appear in a January 2010 episode include 'Hawkman' (played by BC-based actor Michael "Stargate: Atlantis" Shanks), 'Atom', 'Spectre', 'Stargirl' (Britt "V" Irvin) and 'Doctor Fate' (Brent Stait). Created by writer Gardner Fox and artist Dennis Neville, the original Hawkman first appeared in Flash Comics #1, published by All-American Publications in 1940. Several incarnations of Hawkman have appeared in DC Comics, all of them characterized by the use of archaic weaponry and large, artificial wings, attached to a harness made from the special 'Nth metal' that allows flight. 'Spectre' first appeared in 1940, created by Jerry "Superman" Siegel and Bernard Baily. Noted as one of the...

After repeatedly lamenting the revolving door of guest heroes and elevated secondary characters that Smallville has been trotting out recently (you need a program just to keep track of all the players now), it seems the showrunners are doing it again.
Hawkman, Doctor Fate and Stargirl will descend upon Smallville in next January's "Justice Society" episode, anticipated by virtue of the fact that it's penned by comic scribe Geoff Johns.
According to IGN, Hawkman will be played by Stargate Sg-1's Michael Shanks (famed for his role as Dr. Daniel Jackson), while Canadian actor Brent Stait will don the golden helmet of Doctor Fate. Stait has also appeared on Stargate Sg-1 as well as Stargate Atlantis.
Meanwhile, according to Fancast, actress Britt Irvin (Aliens in America) has been cast as Stargirl.
And it doesn't stop there. Additional members of the Justice Society are anticipated to show up in the episode.
