‘National Treasure: Edge of History’ Canceled at Disney+
Image
“National Treasure: Edge of History” has been canceled at Disney+ after one season, Variety has confirmed.

Based on the “National Treasure” film franchise, Disney’s TV adaptation followed treasure hunter Jess Venezuela. After a stranger gives her a tip about a centuries-old treasure possibly connected to her father, she and her friends set out on the hunt. Lisette Olivera, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Zuri Reed, Antonio Cipriano, Jordan Rodrigues, Jake Austin Walker, and Lyndon Smith were among the cast.

In the season one finale, which aired in February, co-creators Marianne and Cormac Wibberley (who also wrote the first two films) closed the first installment unveiling a “National Treasure” twist. FBI Agent Hendricks (Armando Riesco) — who appeared in both “National Treasure” films and recurred on the series — revealed himself to be the Cras Est Nostrum’s Salazar, a generational title for wizard behind the curtain and had been secretly sabotaging Billie’s (Zeta-Jones) Treasure Destoyer hunts.

Firefly Lane Final Episodes Trailer Asks Whether Friendship Truly is Forever
Sarah Chalke
It's been an emotional journey for Kate (Sarah Chalke) and Tully (Katherine Heigl), but will their friendship withstand more hurdles?

Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for the back half of Firefly Lane Season 2, which will bring the dramedy to an end for good.

The series has followed Kate and Tully's relationship over 30 years, and just like real-life, it hasn't been easy sailing for either of them.

The first half of the second season found the pair ending their years-long friendship, but fans were left with plenty of cliffhangers.

One of those cliffhangers involved Kate's ex-husband, Johnny Ryan (Ben Lawson), seemingly getting married to Tully.

"That's the thing about big life changes; you don't get to choose when they happen," Johnny Ryan shared in the new trailer. "You just have to hold on tight to the people you love and make your way through it."

In addition to Chalke, Heigl,...

Image
Netflix’s Firefly Lane, starring Sarah Chalke and Katherine Heigl, has returned with the first nine episodes of its second and final season.

They resolved the two big Season 1 cliffhangers, Johnny’s fate after he was struck by an explosion in Iraq (He survived and was cared for by Kate during his difficult physical and mental recovery), and what destroyed Kate (Chalke) and Tully’s (Heigl) unbreakable bond.

Season 2A carefully peeled off the lawyers of that mystery over several episodes until it was revealed that Tully’s car, with Marah in it, was hit, sending both to the hospital, after Tully had ignored Kate’s orders to keep Marah grounded and got behind the wheel on a couple of glasses of wine.

Tully’s numerous attempts to apologize and reconcile with Kate fell on deaf ears. Kate even tried to make a new friend in writing class but when...

CBS Extends Three Rookie Series for Full Season
Image
Click here to read the full article.

CBS is wasting little time in locking down its trio of first-year scripted shows.

The network has extended the orders for East New York, Fire Country and So Help Me Todd after promising starts for all three. CBS is calling the extensions “full season orders,” though it hasn’t set episode counts for the trio. In the era of shorter season orders, a full run can mean anything from 15 or 16 episodes to the once-standard 22.

The pickups for the three shows come as little surprise, as Fire Country, East New York and So Help Me Todd are the three most watched rookie network shows of the 2022-23 season so far. The Jerry Bruckheimer-produced Fire Country drew 8.26 million viewers over seven days for its series debut. East New York is averaging 7.37 million over its first two episodes — and is the top-rated new series (and No.

Will ‘Modern Family’ earn 9th Best Comedy Series nomination at 2018 Emmys? Not even ‘Frasier’ could do that
ABC’s “Modern Family” was once the toast of the Emmys, winning Best Comedy Series five times (2010-14) from a whopping eight nominations. With increased competition from cable and streaming networks, will the recently concluded ninth season continue the show’s Emmy streak? As a refresher, “Modern Family” is currently tied with “Frasier” at five wins and eight nominations. Only four comedies in Emmy history earned more than eight series bids — “All in the Family” (9), “Cheers” (11) and “M*A*S*H” (11) — so “Modern Family” is hoping to join that esteemed list this year.

SEE2019 Emmys comedy queens showdown: Julia Louis-Dreyfus (‘Veep’) vs. Candice Bergen (‘Murphy Brown’)?

Created by Steven Levitan and Christopher Lloyd and produced by 20th Century Fox TV, “Modern Family” broke boundaries for its storylines of inclusion and acceptance. In the wake of sister company Fox News’ right-wing reporting, Levitan recently announced that he would be leaving Fox after “Modern Family” ends.
