EW scored a first look at Animal, the new Chiller original film produced by Drew Barrymore's Flower Films.
Check out the pic inside which finds rapper-actress Eve getting dragged away by...something. Eve is just one of many rappers to make the leap from the music scene to horror (I'd list 'em here, but it's rather long and kind of embarrassing).
Animal will have a limited theatrical and VOD run before making its debut on Chiller sometime in 2014. When plans for a weekend vacation hit a dead end, a group of close-knit friends find themselves stranded in unfamiliar territory, pursued by a menacing, blood thirsty predator. Holed up in an isolated cabin, tensions mount as long-buried secrets are revealed. As the body count rises, the group must put their differences aside and fight for survival. Horror network Chiller TV continues to make headway in the world of terrestrial horror themed broadcasting as they have just announced the addition of two features to their line-up of 2013-2014 original movies. Read on for details.
According to Deadline, Animal, from executive producer Drew Barrymore and her Flower Films banner, follows a group of friends stranded in an isolated cabin who find themselves hunted by a predator. Deep in the Darkness stars Sean Patrick Thomas and Dean Stockwell in the tale of a NYC doctor who moves his family to a small town only to discover a race of creatures living in the woods behind their home.
These films join the previously announced features Beneath, from director Larry Fessenden, and The Monkey’s Paw, adapted from W.W. Jacobs’ short story, to launch Chiller Films’ new multiplatform release strategy. The four titles will get limited theatrical runs via Synthetic Cinema...

Now that we've had time to process the gloriously heartbreaking Brittana moments from Glee's season four finale, it's time to ask ourselves a tough (but exciting!) question: Who should the show cast as Santana's girlfriend next season? Because according to TV Line, it's going to be a pretty big role.
Question: Is Heather Morris leaving Glee? That finale sure seemed like Brittany’s farewell. —Donna
Ausiello: All indications are that Morris will be back in some capacity, but probably not until the first part of 2014 at the earliest (Morris’ baby is due in the fall). But don’t expect Santana to wait around for her ex to resurface. Word on the street is she’s getting a serious NYC girlfriend in Season 5.

This year’s MTV Movie Awards was an evening of highly anticipated reunions, sneak peeks, and of course, the hostess herself, Rebel Wilson. Rebel’s opening sequence with James Franco was great, but she really blew it out of the water when she was joined onstage by her Pitch Perfect co-stars for a live mashup performance of "Lose Yourself/Girl on Fire." Soon enough, when Rebel busted out the leather pants and nun chucks and the audience knew we were in for a hell of a show. Rebel’s opening monologue hit all the right notes, and aside from a few bits that landed a little flat later in the show, she proved to be an entertaining and capable host.

It was often said in the playground that “Girls can’t play football”. Well we, as a nation, are now being shown that this statement is absolute rubbish!
Women’s football is one of the fastest growing sports in England and this is down to a number of reason’s. The growth in coverage of female national matches and tournaments means a larger audience is getting access to a sport that was probably once seen as inferior to the male game. This mindset has been blown out of the water in recent years with the success of the Women’s national team.
In order to support the growth the game is seeing, the Fa have a set up a semi-professional league for women. This should maintain and cater for the growing numbers participating in the sport, and satrat to propel women’s football up to the dizzy heights of it’s male counterpart,...

Canada's women footballers were left to celebrate their qualification for 2012, despite being thrashed 4-0 by the USA in the Concacaf Olympic qualifying final. You have slasher films, and you have thrillers. A good slasher film can have huge gaps in logic if the killer is fun and the body count high. If the film is about the gasp, then it’s a slasher film. If there is a focus on acting and plot—hey, don’t walk away, that’s important stuff, too—then you’re looking at a thriller. Both types of films can just as high an amount of on screen carnage, but it’s their different approaches that put them in different categories, and thereby get them judged by different standards. Think of it as film school profiling. It may not be fair, but it keeps us safe in these dangerous times of random Netflixing and blind purchasing.
Kelly Smith’s “Don’t Let Him In,” unfortunately, tries to be both slasher film And thriller.

It.s never a good idea to go on vacation to a house/cabin/camp site in an isolated wood. You know you.re asking for trouble. That groups of friends continue to do so is testament to the power of story, naive behaviour and death wish. Now what happens when you take that vacation in the woods And invite a serial killer along?
Kelly Smith.s first feature is a movie inspired by fillms like The Hills Have Eyes, old school Hammer House, and I would say a dash of Friday the 13th. Shot on 16mm, which gives a grainy edge, the film delivers on the body count, has an awesome serial killer, and there.s a nice twist at the end. You've got to love the fact that the word 'Don't' is so synonymous with horror. Don't do this, don't look in there, don't open that! Edgar Wright's faux-Grindhouse trailer 'Don't epitomises it's use. The word instantly taps into that childlike instinct you get to practically want to do the complete opposite of what your parents expect - expecially when told Not to do it in the first place. Which brings us on to news from the second movie of the day to feature this four letter example. 'Don't Let Him In' is the new Brit slasher film from director Kelly Smith. Smith co-wrote the script along with Chris Andrews and the flick stars Sophie Linfield ('The Football Factory'), Sam Hazeldine, Gordon Alexander, Rhys Meredith, Gemma Harvey and Poppy Grout. And now you can check out a gruesome new trailer from the movie below!...

After gaining confidence by spending hours in front of pageant judges, Eden now has so much stage presence and experience that she has branched out into a music career and "The Insider" gained access to the Iowa shopping mall where Eden shot her first music video. Little Eden sang a song called "Cutie Patootie" for screaming fans in a crowd of children and adults. In spite of all the attention she's getting, Eden manages to stay grounded. "She's such a nice girl," said pageant mom Kelly Smith. "She's the furthest thing from snooty.

Houston Horrorfest Bloodies Texas
Mayhem takes to the screen this October 13, 14, & 15 at the Alamo Draft House (Westoaks) with a collection of six horrific feature films made in Houston by local directors. “Slashers, smashers, zombies, maniac medieval knights and more! This festival has something for everyone,” says director Kerry Beyer.
Kicking off the festival will be shorts from the SplatterFest “Weekend of Mayhem” short film competition, in which contestants have one weekend to write, shoot, and edit a horror short. SplatterFest competition dates are September 24-26th.
The line up:
Sweatshop – Charlie (Ashley Kay) is hoping tonight's rave will be the biggest and baddest she's ever thrown, but after breaking into an abandoned factory that houses a bloodthirsty beast, she and her friends will be lucky to last until the party starts. Directed by Stacy Davidson.

The new season of Donald Trump and Mark Burnett's reality competition "The Apprentice" (the non-celebrity edition) returns to NBC on September 16. And while taping for the series' tenth season has already concluded, the 16 competitors are only now being revealed.
"I am very excited to have the civilian version of 'The Apprentice' back on the air this fall," Trump says, subtly pointing out that celebrities should never be mistaken for normal people. "The new edition will combine the realities of today's economic downturn with the grittiness, drama and excitement of the original series. Each of this season's 16 contestants has been hit hard by the economy and they are fighting back."
This may surprise you, but we haven't had a regular "Apprentice" since the economy took a toilet bath. The last run of the series concluded in April, 2007, so producers clearly had an especially large crop of candidate to choose from.

Every year LucasFilm sends all their employees, associates and friends a LucasFilm Christmas card. I'm still not lucky enough to be on this list (and probably never will be), but that won't stop me from admiring the cards from afar. The cards usually feature cool custom Star Wars holiday art. We've collected and featured over 30 years of LucasFilm's holiday cards in a previous edition of Cool Stuff (click here to see them). This year's card was designed by artists Harrison Parker and Kelly Smith, and features gingerbread cookie versions of the cartoon Clone Wars characters. Check out the full card design after the jump. via: TheForce...
