Edit
  • Trivia
Balding character actor, operatic singer and stage director. Made his theatrical debut, initially in comedic roles, in 1906. In 1916, Schur was briefly artistic director of the Thalia-Theater in Chemnitz and, in 1921, of the Walhalla-Operettentheater in Halle/Saale. On the screen, he found himself most often typecast as burglars, vagrants, con artists, pirates or murderers, but was equally convincing at portraying eccentrics or hapless misfits.
