Since moving to Morocco from the United States in 1980, Dana has been a
university teacher; partner and co-founder of Dune Films, a production and location
services company; film technician; costume manufacturer and designer.
In 2002 she created Malu Services, a company that focuses on the design and production of quality products, film costumes among them, combining the traditional craft of the artisan with modern industrial techniques.
As of 2016, Malu Services introduced a collection of women's clothing, caravan786, made from an exclusive collection of fabric hand-dyed by a women's dyeing cooperative in the western Sahara Desert. caravan786 will expand to include clothing for men, children and accessories as well as textiles for the home.
