The release of ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2’ has been postponed by a year.The upcoming sequel from Paramount Pictures was originally set for release on October 9, 2026 but has now been pushed back to September 17, 2027. The change in schedule has been caused by delays in animation physical production.Filmmaker Jeff Rowe is directing the follow up to the 2023 film, which included the voice talents of Ayo Edebiri, Maya Rudolph, John Cena, Seth Rogen, Rose Byrne, Jackie Chan, Ice Cube and Paul Rudd. We didn't expect to see Dafne Keen as X-23 again following her acclaimed turn in James Mangold's Logan, but the young actress was given the opportunity to reprise the role in Shawn Levy's Deadpool and Wolverine as part of a Void Resistance team alongside Blade (Wesley Snipes), Elektra (Jennifer Garner), Gambit (Channing Tatum), and the late Johnny Storm (Chris Evans).

Laura appears again in the closing moments of the movie, having reunited with Logan and the Merc With a Mouth, leaving the door open for her eventual return.

Kate Mara didn’t know exactly what she was getting into with Tim Robinson before joining the cast of “Friendship.” She wasn’t familiar with “I Think You Should Leave,” the absurdist Netflix sketch comedy created by Robinson and Zach Kanin – and “Friendship” very much plays like a 97-minute version of the series.

Thankfully, the screenplay by writer-director Andrew DeYoung painted a clear picture for Mara. “It was all on the page,” the “House of Cards” alum tells Variety. “It was such a great script, so funny. My reaction was, ‘Wow. Why did he think of me?’”

Earlier this week, we got a first look at what appeared to be a downed Sentinel on the set of Avengers: Doomsday. Now, we have a birds-eye view offering a clearer shot at the mutant-hunting robot's legs (in what's believed to be the X-Mansion's grounds).

We also have reason to believe that we'll see the remains of more than one Sentinel, as you can see below.

Unfortunately, the legs are still covered up, but the photographer who took these shots has confirmed that the footprints they've seen elsewhere on set match the Sentinel design from the comics.

The new Apple TV+ sci-fi series "Murderbot" stars Alexander Skarsgård as the titular cyborg, who's able to hack his system and go rogue. Unfortunately, free will does little for a mildly outdated security construct whose only desires in life are to watch bad TV and be left in peace — especially since the self-appointed Murderbot understands all too well that no one can ever find out that it has free will in the first place.

Peace, of course, is not on the cards when you're the titular character on what may turn out to be one of the best sci-fi shows on Apple TV+. Murderbot soon becomes the chosen SecUnit of a scientist expedition that's heading toward a mystery planet, which contains more than its share of dangers. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans will have to wait a bit longer for party time to begin.

Paramount Pictures announced several changes to its release calendar on Friday, with the animated sequel Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2 now set for wide theatrical release Sept. 17, 2027, after having previously been slated for Oct. 9, 2026.

Director Jeff Rowe is helming the follow-up to his original film that hit theaters in August 2023 and collected $180 million worldwide. The star-studded voice cast for the first Mutant Mayhem included Ayo Edebiri, Maya Rudolph, John Cena, Seth Rogen, Rose Byrne, Jackie Chan, Ice Cube and Paul Rudd. The franchise launched with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic book that debuted in 1984.

As filming continues on Marvel Studios' Avengers: Doomsday, these latest photos and video from what is believed to be the X-Mansion set reveal what looks a lot like a downed Sentinel.

Though the head isn't visible, what appears to be a large mauve chest plate and foot sticking out of the tarp would seem to leave little doubt that this is indeed one of the giant robots that have been a scourge of mutant-kind in the comics since they were introduced back in the mid-60s.

The Sentinels were a staple of the original X-Men animated series, and have also made a couple of live-action appearances - although Days of Future Past's take on the robots left a lot to be desired among fans that were hoping to see the classic design.

Review: Confession time – this movie is my introduction to Tim Robinson. Sure, I’ve had folks name-drop his show I Think You Should Leave, and it’s always been on my list of stuff to check out. But, I walked into this more-or-less fresh, not knowing what to expect. What I got was one of the most cringe-inducing comedies I’ve ever seen – and I loved every second of it.

To be sure, this kind of humour isn’t for everyone. There were times while I was watching Friendship in the jam-packed screening that I’m sure I annoyed the people sitting next to me by how many times I sunk in my seat, covering my face with my hands and repeating “no, no, no” louder than I should. That’s the effect this had on me.

Sony Pictures Entertainment saw profit jump 70% in the March quarter to $354 million on lower theatrical marketing costs. Revenue for the three months, Sony’s fiscal fourth quarter, was essentially flat at $2.7 billion.

Ever dreamed of puffers and khakis that still fit even after crawling through tunnels and standing in quicksand? Yeah, we haven’t quite either, but after watching Tim Robinson’s viral A24 comedy “Friendship,” we are trading our Dan Flashes looks for the soft earth tones of Ocean View Dining — they fit just right.

After the success of “Friendship” (which will open in theaters nationwide May 23 after having a limited release in LA and NYC), distributor A24 announced that the fictional clothing company Ocean View Dining (Ovd) is now a real brand…or at least people can buy the Ocean View Dining Classic Pants, which Robinson’s character Craig Waterman dons for most of the film.

Cameras are now rolling on Avengers: Doomsday, and star Robert Downey Jr. has taken to social media to share a new photo from the set.

The Oppenheimer Oscar-winner is clearly not in full costume as Victor Von Doom here, but he does appear to be wearing at least part of his undersuit as he sits reading co-star Jeremey Renner's new book. Rdj is also flexing his bicep, and it looks like he's bulked up somewhat to play the iconic villain... With some help from extra padding!

If you look closely, you'll also notice some red dots on Downey's head and face, which may confirm that VFX will be used for either Doom's mask or possibly his disfigured face.

I Think You Should Leave With Tim Robinson has presented its titular creator and star to us in some of the most humiliating situations ever conceived. Characters he’s played have asked a restaurant server to intervene with a date he thinks is being too greedy with the toppings on a shared plate of nachos, tried to pull off a perm like an Irish setter’s ears, gotten disruptively dirty with questions on an “adult” ghost tour and of course, driven a hot dog-shaped car through a store window and loudly disclaimed responsibility — while wearing a hot dog costume.

Another Marvel Cinematic Universe movie is making its way onto Disney+. Marvel Studios has just announced when Captain America: Brave New World will arrive on the Disney-owned streaming service.

Despite reports stating that the fourth Captain America movie would land on Disney+ today, the MCU blockbuster will actually premiere on the platform on May 28, roughly three and a half months after it debuted in theaters around the world. The movie's arrival on Disney+ comes just over a month after it hit Apple TV, Fandango at Home, Amazon, and other VOD platforms, and a mere two weeks after it was released on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD. Academy Award winner and Hollywood icon Robert Downey Jr. returns to the MCU in next year’s Avengers: Doomsday. But he won’t be playing Tony Stark. Instead, Downey Jr. will debut as the iconic Marvel supervillain Doctor Doom, with the actor having now teased his MCU comeback in a new image from the set of the Avengers sequel.

Pictured on the set of Avengers: Doomsday, the image shows Robert Downey Jr. sporting the muscles needed to fill out that green cloak and take on the likes of Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, Sam Wilson’s Captain America, The Fantastic Four, The New Avengers, and The X-Men single-handed. Osaka Comic-Con 2025 took place in the Japanese city's Intex Osaka from Friday, May 2 to Sunday, May 5, and while we didn't get any sort of major news out of the event, some photos of the "Road to the Avengers" booth have now been shared online (via The Direct).

There are many, many reasons that Avengers: Doomsday is the most anticipated movie of 2026. It's a large-scale movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for a start, and one that will kick off the final chapter in the Multiverse Saga (paving the way for Avengers: Secret Wars to wrap it up). It will also feature a multitude of cameo appearances from across the Marvel multiverse and see some of our favorite characters go up against MCU legend Robert Downey Jr. as he brings Doctor Doom to life.

But another primary reason for the excitement is the fact that it will bring the Avengers back together. It's been years since the most famous team of superheroes have assembled on-screen, and the possibility of seeing some newer Marvel heroes join the fray just makes it all the more exciting, making up the fact that some of the originals won't be on the team this time around.

Many stars come to mind when you hear the phrase, ‘aging like a fine wine’. The likes of George Clooney, Paul Rudd, Keanu Reeves, and Jeff Goldblum are the first to cross our minds. But some simply don’t age. Tom Cruise falls in that category.

While Marvel's Thunderbolts* dominated headlines this weekend after topping the domestic box office charts for the second time in a row, an indie comedy was setting its own records. Released in just six New York and Los Angeles theaters, Friendship delivered the biggest debut for a limited release this year. The movie grossed over $451,000 in its first three days of release, delivering a per-theater average of $75,000. By comparison, Thunderbolts*' per-theater average for the weekend stood at $7,600.

Friendship stars Paul Rudd and Tim Robinson in the lead roles; the movie premiered at last year's Toronto International Film Festival to excellent reviews, and is poised to emerge as a crowd-pleaser of the topmost order when it expands nationwide in a few weeks. Robinson plays a suburban dad whose quest to make a new adult friend leads him to his charismatic neighbor, played by Rudd. Their blossoming friendship threatens to derail their lives.

Friendship is out at 6 locations to a stellar debut weekend of $451k, and per theater average of $75.43k. That’s the highest limited opening this year and a boost the indie market’s been waiting for even as the broader box office picks up.

Only Watermelon Pictures’ documentary The Encampments, which debuted on one screen in late March to $77k, had a higher per theater opening of $77k.

Thunderbolts* cruised to the top of the box office once again as the second weekend of the summer movie season didn't offer any meaningful competition for the MCU entry to face off against. Director Jake Schreier’s superhero flick made an estimated $33.1 million domestically to claim the No. 1 spot, and the recently rebranded *New Avengers also crossed the $100 million mark ($128.5 million) in the United States and Canada. The Florence Pugh-led ensemble piece has fared even better overseas with an additional $143.7 million en route to a worldwide total of $272.2 million after only two weekends of theatrical release. Regrettably, though, Disney couldn't let sleeping dogs lie, as the studio also tried to cash in on the summer movie season by unsuccessfully rereleasing their live-action Snow White — more on that catastrophe in a moment.

Michael B. Jordan and director Ryan Coogler’s must-see vampire collaboration, Sinners, continues to scare up audiences during its fourth weekend of release.

The weekend box office results are in, and Marvel’s Thunderbolts managed an easy first-place win with $33 million. That’s pretty close to what we predicted earlier this week. That marks a 55% decline from its opening weekend, which is much better than the usual Marvel results, with Captain America: Brave New World and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania both falling about 69%, while The Marvels fell a disastrous 78%. The running total now is $128 million. That said, this is a modest result for a Marvel movie, with it unlikely to hit the $200 million mark.

It’s not hard to imagine that Ryan Coogler’s Sinners, which has become a bona fide cultural phenomenon, took a big bite out of Thunderbolts’ box office takings. In its fourth week, Sinners made $21 million, for an incredible $214 million total. Next week, it’s getting back its 70mm IMAX screens, which it had to surrender to Thunderbolts,...

Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts* lorded over a relatively quiet weekend at the domestic box office, earning $33.1 million for a 10-day North American tally of $128.5 million and $272.2 million globally.

The ensemble pic led by Florence Pugh and Sebastian Stan fell a respectable 55 percent from its opening weekend, compared to an average decline of 57 percent for a title in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and far less than more recent MCU films. Earlier this year, Captain America: Brave New World tumbled more than 65 percent.

Thunderbolts* boasts both enviable reviews and audience scores, which is sparking strong word-of-mouth. And in a savvy stunt to whip up additional interest, Disney’s marketers revealed after the movie opened that the asterisk refers to the unofficial title The New Avengers, since many of the characters will appear in next year’s Avengers: Doomsday.

The last time we saw the Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) was in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Since then, the character has been noticeably absent from the big screen. While it’s clear that a solo Hulk project isn’t on the horizon, rumors have been swirling about Bruce Banner’s potential appearance in Captain America: Brave New World.

These speculations gained traction after Mark Ruffalo himself hinted at being involved with the movie before quickly backtracking, claiming he was mistaken.

Marvel Studios recently revealed a list of cast members set to appear in Avengers: Doomsday. Some names, like Vanessa Kirby, Pedro Pascal, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn, were anticipated, given the Fantastic Four’s history with Doctor Doom.

However, other announcements came as a surprise, such as almost the entire Thunderbolts* cast (excluding Taskmaster) joining the film.

Exclusive: Paramount label Republic Pictures has acquired international rights to Tim Robinson and Paul Rudd comedy Friendship, which A24 is releasing domestically this weekend.

The TIFF and SXSW film, which marks the debut of writer-director Andrew DeYoung, follows suburban dad Craig who falls hard for his charismatic new neighbor, but his attempts to make an adult male friend threaten to ruin both of their lives.

Supporting cast includes Kate Mara, Jack Dylan Grazer, Josh Segarra, Billy Bryk, Jason Veasey, Jon Glaser, Eric Rahill, Conner O’Malley, Carmen Christopher, Craig Frank, Omar Torres, Jacob Ming-Trent, Daniel London, Whitmer Thomas and Raphael Sbarge.
