In a new interview with GQ, celebrity trainer Paolo Mascitti is revealing the tips and tricks he used to turn the lean David Corenswet into a jacked, powerhouse ahead of filming on the Dcu's Superman.
Said Mascitti, "This is a James Gunn film, and he has a specific vision of the entire project. David had been working out intensively before I met him, but he’s naturally a very lean guy. He’s 6’6” but we wanted to put more bulk on him. He probably went from 200lbs to 240lbs, but some of that mass will be shed as he continues to tone up.”
He revealed that he and Corenswet had very intense training sessions for about 5 months before filming started on Superman. However, even though the cameras are now rolling, they're still training.

It’s Superman!
On Monday, “Superman” writer-director James Gunn released the first look at star David Corenswet as Superman in an Instagram post.
The photo depicts the Man of Steel sitting in what appears to be a luxury highrise condo in his iconic blue, red, and yellow costume. He’s pulling on his boots, presumably to deal with the pink-and-blue comet-like burst that’s visible in the sky out the window. He may be a nearly immortal superhero from the planet Krypton, but he puts his boots on one at a time like everyone else.

What a way to kick off the week!
DC Studios, James Gunn, and Warner Bros. have officially revealed the costume for David Corenswet's Superman, the first film in the Dcu.
It looks as if Clark is preparing to lace up his boots and patrol the Metropolis skyline in the image. While sitting, it clear that this newest version of the Man of Steel will have the superhero's iconic red trunks.
The first official image of the Superman suit comes likely due to the fact that filming is set to leave the behind-the-scenes confines of the Trilith Studios in Fayetteville, Georgia and film on-location in Macon and later on in Cleveland, Ohio.
At first blush, it looks as if the suit is heavily inspired by the Superman suit from the 2011 DC Comics' New 52 reboot, with slight variations.

Superman filmmaker James Gunn and star David Corenswet have posted on social media the new Man of Steel suit.
It’s a rather rugged costume, not as pristine as previous feature iterations, indicating the edgy take that Gunn is taking here with his movie. The film will be Warner Bros.’ fourth time revamping the DC superhero in longform (not counting big screen serials) following filmmakers Richard Donner (1978), Bryan Singer (2006) and Zack Snyder (2013).
Corenswet follows in the footsteps of such actors playing the son of Jor-El in feature films as Christopher Reeve (1978-87), Brandon Routh (2006) and Henry Cavill (2013-2022).
This is a unit shot, it’s not an overly produced CGI shot, and it’s indicative of what we’ll see in the film. Not everything is green screen, and that creates an environment that’s significantly better for the actors.

David Corenswet gets dressed as Superman one boot at a time in the first look at the actor in costume. Superman writer-director James Gunn revealed the image on social media Monday.
The unveiling of an actor in costume as Superman is a rare affair, akin to the first look at a new James Bond. Only three men have starred as the character in its nearly 50-year big screen career: Christopher Reeve (1978-87), Brandon Routh (2006) and Henry Cavill (2013-2022), not counting serials that played in movie theaters in the late 1940s and early ’50s.

Last year, Gunn and Safran introduced new plans for the “Dcu,” a cinematic universe intended to replace and reboot the Dceu. The initial phase, dubbed ‘Gods & Monsters,’ encompasses animated projects and live-action shows set in Themyscira long before Wonder Woman’s era.
Although the animated series ‘Creature Commandos’ debuted first, the true kickoff of the Dcu will be ‘Superman,’ a live-action film centering on a younger Superman, effectively supplanting Cavill’s established Man of Steel. While the movie is still far from release, we’ve gathered available information in this comprehensive guide. Let’s dive in!

Since he's been on a total recasting spree for his Superman film — which we now know is simply titled Superman – James Gunn has naturally found someone new to play Daily Planet editor Perry White. The Wire veteran Wendell Pierce, who was most recently seen in Prime Video's take on Jack Ryan, will be the latest actor appearing as Clark Kent and Lois Lane's boss.
Superman, which Gunn started shooting this past week, has David Corenswet starring as the title character, while Rachel Brosnahan plays Lois.
Also in the cast for the new film? Skyler Gisondo (Jimmy Olsen), Sara Sampaio (Eve Teschmacher), Edi Gathegi (Mister Terrific), Terence Rosemore (Otis), Anthony Carrigan (Metamorpho), Isabela Merced (Hawkgirl), Nathan Fillion (Guy Gardner) and María Gabriela de Faría (The Engineer). We can expect appearances from Sean Gunn (as the villainous Maxwell Lord) and Milly Alcock making her debut as Supergirl.

The Dceu has faced its fair share of ups and downs lately. But one consistent point of praise has been the casting choices, particularly actors like Henry Cavill as Superman and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.
Henry Cavill and Wonder Woman in the Dceu
Anyways, James Gunn is now all set to change the whole universe. While his reboot sounds like a fresh idea, there is also a bittersweet feeling because they’re shaking up the cast.
Gunn and Peter Safran seem to have something new in the works, and it makes sense why they’re opting for younger actors like David Corenswet (as they provide longevity and potential for more movies in the future).
After his casting as Clark Kent/Superman in June 2023, new cast names were soon revealed, including Nicholas Hoult as the classic villain Lex Luthor. Most recently, the actor for Perry White has also been announced.

Drop the Legacy. James Gunn revealed that his new Superman movie will simply be called Superman, writing in a post celebrating the first day of filming, “When I finished the first draft of the script, I called the film Superman: Legacy. By the time I locked the final draft, it was clear the title was Superman. Making our way to you July 2025.”
Along with the post, he shared an image of the Superman logo from the film, which was previously called Superman: Legacy. The snow-dusting on the logo suggests a scene set in The Fortress of Solitude, Superman’s arctic fortress.
Superman, of course, was the title of the seminal 1978 film starring Christopher Reeve and directed by Richard Donner. (Though it was also known as Superman: The Movie.)
David Corenswet stars as Clark Kent/Superman, with Rachel Brosnahan playing Daily Planet reporter Lois Lane. The cast also includes Nicholas Hoult as classic villain Lex Luthor.

A year ago, DC Studios announced they were bringing back their caped superhero in the movie Superman: Legacy. The studio’s CEO and filmmaker, James Gunn, will direct the film. Everyone initially thought Henry Cavill would reprise his role from the Man of Steel. However, the studios announced an entirely new cast. Actor David Corenswet will play Clark Kent, aka Superman, and Rachel Brosnahan will essay Lois Lane.
It took a while for fans to accept that Henry Cavill will no longer play Superman in DC Movies. However, with time, fans started showing their excitement towards the upcoming movie. Now, actress Rachel Brosnahan, who plays Lois Lane (earlier played by Amy Adams), gave an interesting answer.

A couple of months back, James Gunn stated that the Superman: Legacy suit will not be revealed before the movie starts filming. But there’s an update regarding it from Rachel Brosnahan, who will play the role of Lois Lane. The 33-year-old actress recently teased the new Man of Steel suit that will be worn by co-star David Corenswet in Superman: Legacy.
Superman: Legacy is slated to star David Corenswet as the Dcu’s Man of Steel
Rachel Brosnahan has become the fourth actress to play the iconic DC Comics character on the big screen after Margot Kidder, Kate Bosworth, and Amy Adams. Superman: Legacy, which will be the first feature film of the Dcu, will see David Corenswet joined by Nicholas Hoult, who plays the supervillain Lex Luthor.

Amid all the controversy about how James Gunn seemingly sacrificed The CW’s Superman & Lois series just because Superman: Legacy will soon be hitting the market, Gunn is trying his best to win fans’ hearts back. In order to do this and keep their anticipation, he is taking to his social media handles to share updates about the upcoming film every now and then.
James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy (PC: DC)
One of these recent updates saw the co-ceo of DC Studios sharing a selfie from the sets of the 2025 scheduled film. This picture included the confirmed cast and crew of Superman: Legacy along with James Gunn and Peter Safran themselves. But this picture has also ostensibly leaked a huge spoiler about the movie, or to be more precise, about Lex Luthor’s look.

If you needed confirmation that James Gunn is getting ever closer to shooting Superman: Legacy, look no further than a new picture posted by the filmmaker (and DC Studios co-chief) of him and his cast assembled in Atlanta for a table read. Take a look:
Standing with the writer/director as well as producer Peter Safran (who co-oversees the DC movie arm of Warner Bros. with him) are David Corenswet (Clark Kent/Superman), Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane), Nicholas Hoult (Lex Luthor), Skyler Gisondo (Jimmy Olsen), Nathan Fillion (Guy Gardener), Isabela Mercad (Hawkgirl), Anthony Carrigan (Metamorpho), Terence Rosemore (Otis), Edi Gathegi (Mister Terrific), Sara Sampaio (Eve Teschmacher) and María Gabriela de Faría (Angela Spica/The Engineer). Not pictured? Sean Gunn, who is playing Maxwell Lord. And – assuming the Gunn regular is actually going to be in the film – Michael Rooker, possibly just off to the side, wondering why he was asked to get the coffee.

Look, up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's ... the sun reflecting off Lex Luthor's bald head?
Ever since James Gunn and Peter Safran effectively took over DC Studios and set up shop with their grand vision for the superhero universe on the big screen, all eyes have been firmly fixed on the first official debut of the new franchise. Fittingly enough, that'll take shape with a brand-new movie centered on the Man of Steel himself in "Superman: Legacy." The fandom has been abuzz about the idea of returning to a more traditional version of Superman, one that will (presumably) end up a far cry from the darker and edgier approach taken by Zack Snyder. But that's not to say all elements will be new and unfamiliar -- though we know we'll be skipping the origin story this time around, new Superman actor David Corenswet will...

A review of this week’s Atlanta, “Crank Dat Killer,” coming up just as soon as I have a safe farm…
It feels strange to describe an episode like this, built around an active shooter situation, as a relatively light one for Atlanta, yet dammit if “Crank Dat Killer” doesn’t feel exactly that. Yes, Al spends a good chunk of the episode running for his life, and Earn and Darius’ new acquaintance Shoe Man suffers a violent and graphic on-camera death. But “Crank Dat Killer” once again demonstrates the series’ complete mastery of tone,...

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you haven’t watched “Crank Dat Killer,” Season 4, Episode 6 of “Atlanta.”
In 2006 and 2007, Atlanta was experiencing a renaissance.
A renaissance of snap music, to be specific. The city was already producing hits like Dem Franchise Boyz’s “Lean Wit It, Rock Wit It” and D4L’s “Laffy Taffy.” Then, Soulja Boy released his debut single Crank That (Soulja Boy)” just as the concept of YouTube virality was coming into existence, prompting thousands of Atlantans to create their own versions — from “Crank Dat Yank” to “Crank Dat Roosevelt” to a “Super Mario” version — while the rest of the country watched.
In Season 4, Episode 6 of “Atlanta,” headlines are warning Atlantans about the Crank Dat Killer, a serial killer targeting anyone and everyone who made a “Crank Dat” video back in the day. Alfred aka Paper Boi (Brian Tyree Henry) realizes his old “Crank Dat Jimmy Neutron...

We pledge allegiance to Poguelandia.
John B (Chase Stokes) and the “Outer Banks” crew are back in Netflix’s first teaser for the series’ third season, and it seems they’ve finally found some peace on an island they call Poguelandia. The sky is so blue that it’s almost turquoise, the sand is soft and it looks like the gang has set up their own little sun-soaked world far away from Ward (Charles Esten), Rafe (Drew Starkey) and the Sheriff’s Department.
But, of course, nothing is as it seems. Soon, the trailer heats up, showing Sarah (Madelyn Cline), Kie (Madison Bailey), Pope (Jonathan Daviss) and JJ (Rudy Pankow) running away from wild dogs and participating in car chases as they continue to search for treasure. There’s also lots of fighting, including with Ward and Rafe, and the return of Cleo (Carlacia Grant) and John B’s resurrected-from-the-dead father,...

While no one outside of the Hall H Guardians Of The Galaxy panel at this year's San Diego Comic-Con will get to see the footage (in HD, at least), director James Gunn was not shy about releasing extra details he revealed. In an extensive Facebook post from Gunn, he pretty much broke down all the big pieces of news he dropped. One of them had to do with Kurt Russell'S Role In The Film, and another had to do with a familiar group of outlaws from the first Guardians Of The Galaxy film, the Ravagers.
When we last saw the gang of bandits, they were led by Yondu, who had let Peter Quill after the latter man didn't give the former man one of the Infinity Stones. Gunn went into greater detail in his post as he described the panel.
