Per Deadline, Rodriguez and Gere will star in Left Seat, which is described as a plane survival thriller. Younger directs from a script penned by David M. Crabtree. In a now-edited Instagram post, Fast & Furious star Vin Diesel recently pleaded with Universal to tell fans when the final film in the long-running franchise will be released, as the studio has remained mum on any info regarding Fast X: Part 2. It seems as if even Diesel himself has no idea when the release window might be for the grand finale, which was previously expected to arrive in 2026, but filming has yet to even begin on the project.

Diesel shared a photo of himself and his Fast & Furious co-star Michelle Rodriguez, and while the caption has since been edited to express a general gratitude of love, nothing is ever truly gone on the internet. "Universal… Please tell the best fans in the world when the next movie is coming out. Please." he wrote. The accompanying hashtags all read #DomandLetty, #FuelFest, and #LosBandoleros2.

Vin Diesel has a message for Universal Pictures, urging the studio to provide fans with a release timeframe for the next installment in the Fast & Furious franchise.

In a new social media post, Diesel pleaded with the film studio to share with “the best fans in the world” when the next movie will be released.

“Universal… Please tell the best fans in the world, when the next movie is coming out. Please…,” Diesel shared on Instagram.

Diesel shared a photo of himself as Dominic Toretto and his co-star Michelle Rodriguez as Letty Ortiz. The actor also used the hashtag “#LosBandoleros2,” which referenced the short film Los Bandoleros that served as a prequel to 2009’s Fast & Furious 4.

The short film was released as part of the special edition home release of Fast & Furious 4, focused on Diesel’s Dominic as he sets up the hijacking of a fuel tanker in the Dominican Republic.

Vin Diesel is asking Universal Studios to tell fans when the next Fast & Furious movie will be released. He also hinted that something special might come before the next main film, Fast X: Part 2.

Diesel has played Dominic Toretto, or “Dom,” since the first Fast & Furious movie came out in 2001. He returned once again in Fast X, which was released in 2023. That film is part of the final chapter of the franchise.

The story is expected to end with Fast X: Part 2. However, last month, Diesel teased something else might come first — a special project like Los Bandoleros, the short film that came out before Fast & Furious (2009).

Regé-Jean Page swooned Bridgerton fans in the role of Simon Basset he played in the inaugural season of the Netflix period drama.

In a new interview promoting his latest film Black Bag, the actor was asked if he would ever consider returning to the show to wrap up his character.

“I’m very happy to support everyone who’s in the show,” Page told Entertainment Tonight. “Everyone’s finding fantastic success but with the show and personal projects, I’m just super happy to say that.”

In 2023, after many years in development, a new adaptation of the role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons came out via Paramount Pictures, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. Unfortunately, the movie underperformed despite positive reviews.

The adaptation was set in the Forgotten Realms and was a standalone, with no connections to the previous Dungeons & Dragons film trilogy released between 2000 and 2012. The film had been in production since 2013 at different studios, including Warner Bros. and Paramount Pictures, and with different writers and directors. Although Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves was not a big hit, since it came out, the fantasy heist comedy has steadily attracted interest on streaming, and is now back in the charts, per Tudum.

"Dungeons & Dragons" is a tricky fantasy brand. Just about everyone knows what it is, and lots of people are quite sure that a role-playing game that requires loads of imagination and a considerable time commitment is not for them -- although, as "Freaks and Geeks" taught us, these folks who think they're anti-d&d are only one campaign away from becoming total converts. This overwhelmingly negative perception some people hold of D&d is likely a big reason why movies based on the game have failed to take off. There's also the fact that the first attempt, 2000's "Dungeons & Dragons," was an unwatchable heap of crap helmed by the shockingly untalented Courtney Solomon. That didn't help at all.

When a beloved film doesn't make enough money at the box office, or even make back its budget, it's always a sad reality. Especially when that movie happens to be a classic in the making. Many different films every year unfortunately don't live up to financial expectations.

While the numbers are never certain, as there are so many factors involved in making a budget, the financial disappointment of a film should never interfere with the audience's feelings. The quality of a film does not always have any indication or connection to the box office.

There Was No Honor Among Thieves Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (2023)

Despite much audience appreciation for an incredible Dungeons & Dragons film, Honor Among Thieves bombed at the box office. The film failed to garner mass audience appeal despite the name recognition in the title. Despite earning more than its budget, the film needed much more to break even.

The Monopoly movie is back on the table, and any worries about a board game adaptation might be put to rest as the directing duo behind the critically acclaimed Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is joining the project. Created in 1935 and drawing heavily from The Landlord Game, Monopoly is one of the most popular (and frustrating) games of all-time. The game is known worldwide and licensed in over 100 countries in multiple languages, with dozens of versions based on popular IPs. The iconic image of the Monopoly Guy or phrases like "get out of jail free card" and the various game pieces have become part of the cultural lexicon. Despite the fact that there is no true story about the game, that doesn't mean Hollywood hasn't tried to take this popular IP and turn it into a feature film, and they might have finally found the team to bring it to life.

Actor Sam Worthington is about to enter another universe you know and love — but this time with fewer blue humanoids. The prolific television creator and novelist, Harlan Coben, has found his latest leading man in the Avatar actor. And his next limited series adaptation sounds like a real emotional doozy, which is fitting. According to Variety, Worthington will play a character from Coben's novel, I Will Find You, and it focuses on a heartbreaking, twisting tale of false imprisonment and a thrillingly harrowing family mystery.

It falls in line with Coben's work — 12 of his 37 novels have been adapted for film and television, and frequently feature unresolved murders and/or events from the past coming back to haunt their protagonist. Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves starring Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Rege-Jean Page, and Hugh Grant was released exclusively in theaters in 2023. 

The film follows a group of unlikely heroes led by a bard and a barbarian on a mission to steal a powerful relic, only to face dark forces. The movie arrived on Netflix in the US on February 26, 2025, and fans are already eager for a potential sequel.

Deadline reports that Netflix has scooped up The Forgotten Realms, a live-action Dungeons & Dragons TV series from Shawn Levy (Deadpool & Wolverine) and Drew Crevello (WeCrashed).

You may recall that the Dungeons & Dragons series was originally developed for Paramount+, which gave it an eight-episode, straight-to-series order in 2023. The project was originally overseen by Rawson Marshall Thurber (Red Notice), and Crevello later joined as executive producer and showrunner. However, it didn’t move forward and Hasbro Entertainment began the process of shopping the series elsewhere.

Crevello wrote the pilot for The Forgotten Realms and will serve as showrunner. He will also executive produce alongside Levy and Dan Levine through their 21 Laps Entertainment banner. It’s still early days, but it could launch a Dungeons & Dragons universe for Netflix.

The flashback structure and focus on character made the series special and, eventually, made the fans turn on it in the end. This ended up being unfortunate because these fans missed what the series was all about. Lost was never about solving every single mystery on the island; it was the connections made along the way.

The number of Super Bowl ads with celebrities has been increasing over the years, and Sunday’s big game had perhaps a record number: 57 of the 94 product ads that aired during the big game featured celebrity names, and many had more than one. That’s up 22 percent from last year. Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that A-listers secured fees in the $3-$5 million range to star in a commercial during this year, although cameo appearances earn less.

Despite advertising writing big checks, the ads with celebrities only engaged viewers somewhat more than average.
