- Richard Rober was born on May 14, 1910 in Rochester, New York, USA. He was an actor, known for The File on Thelma Jordon (1949), Kid Monk Baroni (1952) and Port of New York (1949). He was married to Mary Hay Barthelmess. He died on May 26, 1952 in Santa Monica, California, USA.

- Rober died of injuries he suffered when he accidentally drove his car off a 75-foot embankment. He had a female passenger who at least initially survived the crash. In a movie released two years before his death, The File on Thelma Jordon (1949), his character was killed in a similar accident, although in that case the character played by Barbara Stanwyck, who was a passenger in the car, caused the crash and died from her injuries.
- His final film, Jet Pilot (1957), was not released until more than five years after his death.
- Rober appeared in several musical comedies on Broadway. His first film appearances were in the early '40s. Also appearing in some of these single-song shorts were Robert B. Williams and Ricardo Montalban.
