- Born in London, England, Steve Rice, worked as a photographer during his early career before being employed in the British film industry. Rice has worked in animatronics, set construction, props and scenic departments for film studios in England, prior to becoming a cinematographer. Experience gained on independent films, television programmes, as well as big budget productions such as Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark and Young Sherlock Holmes, and working with A-list producers and directors, including John Houston, Steven Spielberg and Stanley Kubrick has chiselled his appreciation of all aspects of filmmaking, lighting and cinema.
Steve emigrated with his family to live in Perth, Western Australia, at which time he worked for Australian television networks as a camera operator, covering prime-time sports such as cricket and Australian rules football.
In the late 2000s Steve began working on independent films in Asia and after working in Laos on an independent film, he decided to relocate to Thailand, which provided a catalyst for his work on Indian films.- IMDb Mini Biography By: James With

Steve's SI2K camera was used for filming All the Tired Horses and during that production, the two began collaborating on writing the screenplay the historic WWII drama, I Belong to the Shadows, which is based on real events in Steve's early life as a photographer.
