- Austrian supporting actor, the son of an officer. A former medical student, he first worked in radio. Between 1955 and 1960, he was an ensemble member of the Theater in der Josefstadt. Reyer survived the crash of an Air France Super Constellation on Christmas Eve 1958 at Vienna's Schwechat Airport (the pilot had overshot the runway during a severe nightly rainstorm and the plane came to rest in a nearby field). Amazingly, all 34 passengers, including Reyer, got out of the burning plane before it exploded.
