Despite Its Horrible Rt Score, This Movie Is Will Smith’s Most Underrated Work
Image
Will Smith is one of the most recognizable names in Hollywood. From blockbuster franchises like Men in Black and Independence Day to critically acclaimed performances in Ali and The Pursuit of Happyness, Smith has proven his versatility time and time again. While his movies have collectively raked in billions, not all of his work gets the recognition it really deserves.

Among his vast filmography lies a film that didn’t receive much love when it first hit theaters. Sometimes it takes time for people to realise what a real gem is. It has since found its place in the hearts of viewers. The name of the movie is Focus.

Though it was released to mixed reviews and a modest box office performance, Focus brought something unique to the table. A crime drama with a splash of romance and humor, this 2015 film starring Will Smith and Margot Robbie is an underrated gem that deserves more appreciation.

Insider Claims that Lady Gaga Has Also Been Offered a Role in the ‘Guys and Dolls’ Remake
Image
As of September last year, a remake of Guys and Dolls, one of Broadway’s best and most influential musical that was also adapted into a successful Hollywood musical back in 1955, is in the works. The original movie was nominated in four categories at the Oscars, but it did not win any award.

Now, Hollywood is looking to make a remake of the film, which shouldn’t be surprising, seeing how the reboot and remake era is still very much alive. At this moment we don’t know much about the movie, but we do have some rumors.

Recently, it has been reported that Zendaya was offered to play a “lead role” in the movie and now, another casting rumor has surfaced and it is quite interesting.

Image
It’s been almost a month since production began on Paradise Season 2, and naturally, fans are enthusiastically awaiting loads of info about the new chapter. Most recently, one such detail, as seen on the show’s official Instagram page, is the return of Sterling K. Brown’s Xavier Collins, who looks quite battered, posing with a clapperboard. Collins is one of several characters set to make a comeback in the new season, which began filming on March 28, as confirmed by series creator Dan Fogelman on social media.

“Sterling K. Brown is back on set for season 2!” the new post’s caption read. “Paradise” Season 2 is continuing to build out its cast, with Thomas Doherty joining the Hulu drama in a key recurring guest star role.

Shailene Woodley Joins ‘Paradise’ Season 2 on Hulu
Image
Shailene Woodley is joining the cast of “Paradise” Season 2, TheWrap has learned. Little is known about her upcoming part other than it will be a major recurring role.

From Dan Fogelman and 20th Television, the political thriller became a hit for Hulu. Starring Sterling K. Brown, Julianne Nicholson and James Marsden, the series follows a Secret Service agent who is desperate to discover the truth after the President of the United States is found murdered. The Hulu series was most notable for its premiere, which revealed its big twist: The present timeline actually takes place in a city-sized underground bunker after a mysterious doomsday event.

The ABC premiere of “Paradise” drew 1.4 million viewers, and the series’ premiere debuted on Hulu’s Top 15 Today, a daily list of the platform’s most-watched titles. It then remained on the list throughout all eight episodes of its Season 1 run. The finale then brought...

Image
Exclusive: Paradise is adding a high-profile cast member. Shailene Woodley has been tapped for a major recurring role in the upcoming second season of Hulu’s breakout political thriller from creator Dan Fogelman and 20th Television.

No one would comment, but I hear Woodley’s heavy arc is tied to Agent Xavier Collins’ (Sterling K. Brown) mission teed off at the end of the Season 1 finale, with Woodley playing a prominent survivor. Filming on Season 2 is currently underway.

Season 1 of Paradise is streaming on Hulu in the U.S., where it regularly ranked at No. 1 throughout its run, and Disney+ internationally. It will get a full broadcast run on sibling ABC beginning April 7 in the Monday 10 p.m. hour.

The Season 1 Finale of Hulu’s ‘Paradise’ Pulls a Season-High Viewership Globally
Image
The Hulu drama Paradise, created by Dan Fogelman, wrapped up its first season with a strong 6.3 million views worldwide in just seven days, according to Disney. This number marks the highest audience for the season within that time frame. The show, which has already been greenlit for a second season, is clearly gaining traction on the streaming platform.

The series kicked off with its premiere episode on January 26, pulling in 7 million views in nine days based on early Disney reports. Since then, that number has jumped to 17.6 million global views—a 151% increase. Disney calculates a view by dividing total streaming time by the episode’s runtime.

Paradise stars Sterling K. Brown as Secret Service Agent Xavier Collins, who finds himself at the center of a gripping mystery. The story unfolds in what seems like a peaceful, wealthy community housing some of the world’s elite. But the calm shatters when a murder rocks the group,...

‘Paradise’ Finale Amasses Season-High 6.3M Views In 7 Days
Image
The Season 1 finale of Dan Fogelman’s Hulu drama Paradise attracted 6.3M views globally in seven days, per Disney.

That’s a season-high audience, according to the company, at least in the seven-day viewing window. There’s not any comparable data to determine how much the audience grew over previous episodes. Disney previously reported 7M views in nine days for the first episode.

Speaking of the first episode, it has now amassed 17.6M global views, up 151% from that initial number Disney put out.

While numbers are scarce, it’s clear the series is doing well for Hulu, because it’s already been renewed for a second season.

The Hulu Original drama series is from 20th Television and stars Sterling K. Brown (This is Us) as Secret Service Agent Xavier Collins. The drama is set in a “serene community inhabited by some of the world’s most prominent individuals. But this...

‘Paradise’ Season 1 Finale Scores 6.3 Million Views Globally
Image
“Paradise” scored a big ratings win with its Season 1 finale. The Sterling K. Brown-led drama series snagged 6.3 million views worldwide, based internal data accounting for seven days of streaming across Hulu and Disney+ in international markets.

The series premiere of the Dan Fogelman series has also reached 17.6 million global views since its premiere on January 26, a 151% increase from when it first reported viewership. Disney defines a view as total stream time divided by runtime.

The milestone comes on the heels of “Paradise” being renewed for a second season last month. The show has continuously held a top spot on the Hulu Top 15 Today list since its premiere.

Per the logline, Brown stars as Agent Xavier Collins, whose life is turned upside down when President Cal Bradford (James Marsden) is found dead. Of course, the twist is that Collins, Bradford and around 25,000 other people are — so they believe — the only survivors of a global apocalypse,...

Sterling K. Brown on the ‘Dance’ of ‘Paradise’ Episode 7 and Journeying to the End of the World with James Marsden
Image
[Editor’s note: The following interview contains spoilers for “Paradise” Season 1, Episode 7, “The Day.”]

When discussing Season 1, Episode 7 of “Paradise,” Sterling K. Brown can hardly contain his excitement. As executive producer and star of Dan Fogelman’s Hulu series, Brown is deeply invested in the material, but he’s also stunned as a viewer by what they’ve created.

“As somebody who’s a big fan of TV growing up, there’s episodes of TV that I remember, and I would say to myself, ‘God, if I could ever do something like that, then people will remember it,'” he told IndieWire the week before the episode released. “I think we did it, and that feels really cool.”

Brown’s big episode is called “The Day” because that’s how characters in the series refer to it — the day when “the world ended,” as Presley (Aliyah Mastin) says in Episode 2. It’s the day when Xavier (Brown) lost his wife,...

Sterling K. Brown Goes Inside That End-of-the-World Episode of ‘Paradise’
Image
[This story contains major spoilers from the seventh episode of Paradise, “The Day.”]

Paradise viewers have been imagining how the show’s world ended ever since they began watching the Sterling K. Brown-starring Hulu series. But nothing could have prepared them for the episode that actually showed how it happened.

The seventh episode in Dan Fogelman’s drama, “The Day,” written by John Hoberg and directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, flashed back to the day of the extinction-level event that preceded the beginning of the series. Paradise had opened up in a post-apocalyptic world, where 25,000 people were saved from a catastrophic climate event that wiped out civilization. The survivors, led by star Brown’s Secret Service agent Xavier Collins, are now living in a bunker deep in the Colorado mountains that was built by a billionaire (Julianne Nicholson) who had the wherewithal to see that the end of the world was coming.

‘Paradise’ Premiere Ratings Are In: Disney Says Dan Fogelman Drama Attracted 7 Million Globally
Image
Disney has rather tepid news to report regarding the premiere of Dan Fogelman’s Paradise. The twisty first episode lured 7 million views globally based on a random measurement of nine days of streaming on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ in the US and Disney+ internationally.

The series dropped a surprise first episode on Hulu and Disney+ Jan. 26, ahead of the scheduled Jan. 28 debut. The premiere episode also aired on ABC and FX.

The drama starring Sterling K. Brown, Julianne Nicholson and James Marsden held a top spot on the Hulu Top 15 Today list throughout its first week. A view, Disney says, is defined as total stream time divided by runtime.

In a recent interview with Deadline, Fogelman explained how there are two mysteries in Paradise and why he chose to include that special twist in the pilot episode. Brown plays a secret service agent who protects the president, played by Marsden.

‘Paradise’ Gets Surprise Early Episode 1 Drop Ahead Of Sterling K. Brown Thriller’s Premiere On Hulu
Image
Hulu has made the first episode of its new drama series Paradise available on the platform. The surprise drop comes two days before the thriller, which reunites This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman and star Sterling K. Brown, was supposed to premiere with the first three episodes. Episodes 2 and 3 will still debut on Hulu Jan. 28 as scheduled.

The reviews for Paradise are already out and have been largely positive, which may have encouraged the early release. What’s more, Episode 1 ends with one of the series’ many jaw-dropping twists, so the hope is likely that the cliffhanger would hook viewers in.

The official logline reflects only one side of the genre-mixing drama: “Paradise is set in a serene, wealthy community inhabited by some of the world’s most prominent individuals. But this tranquility explodes when a shocking murder occurs and a high stakes investigation unfolds.”

Paradise TV Review: Sterling K. Brown leads the twistiest original series in years
Image
Plot: Set in a serene community inhabited by some of the world’s most prominent individuals. But this tranquility explodes when a shocking murder occurs, and a high-stakes investigation unfolds.

Review: You are not prepared for Paradise. Sure, the trailers make it out to be a somewhat run-of-the-mill political thriller about the murder of the President of the United States and his most trusted protector, who may be involved in a massive conspiracy. Still, it is so much more than that. Built as a serial drama with a fantastic ensemble cast, Paradise draws structurally from series like Lost and Yellowjackets by combining a contemporary timeline with flashbacks that fill in the gaps of how the characters got to where they are today but also manages to upend the conventions of what we expect from a series like this. Having seen the entire series (except for the finale), I have a lot of thoughts about Paradise,...

Paradise Review: Dan Fogelman’s Hulu Series Is an Intense Fever Dream
Image
Quick Links Paradise Makes Hulu Audiences Part of the Mystery Paradise Relies on Sterling K. Brown in More Ways Than One Will Paradise on Hulu Become the New This Is Us?

Paradise feels like Dan Fogelman's fever dream. The Hulu series will confound anyone who only knows Fogelman as the creator of This Is Us or a number of TV comedies, because it's nothing like any of those shows, except for the casting of Sterling K. Brown (who's also an executive producer). Paradise isn't likely to have audiences weeping openly like This Is Us. What the NBC show did for viewers' hearts, the Hulu drama does for their minds. It will keep them on the edge of their seats.

The show centers on Agent Xavier Collins (played by Brown), who is the head of the President's protection detail -- and thus immediately under scrutiny when the Chief Executive is murdered.

Trouble Abounds in New ‘Paradise’ Trailer
Image
What can you expect from a series called “Paradise?” Anything but.

Hulu’s new drama from “This Is Us” scribe Dan Fogelman stars Sterling K. Brown, James Marsden, and Julianne Nicholson, three people with access to society’s most protected and elite pockets — for whom all hell breaks loose.

The show’s first teaser revealed that Marsden plays President of the United States Cal Bradford, who is found dead by Brown as Secret Service Agent Xavier Collins. When it turns out that the President has been murdered, Xavier becomes the top suspect. But as the teasers and trailers suggest, there’s more going on here than an assassination attempts, and the series tagline “Read Between the Lies” points to a major conspiracy.

The new trailer dives deeper; as soon as Xavier finds Potus, he tells another agent (Nicole Brydon Bloom) “Call it in. Our people only.” He searches the area...

Similarly, Robbie started her career on television with Neighbours and Pan Am, but broke through with a standout role in Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street and collaborated with more acclaimed directors on Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Greta Gerwig's Barbie. Image
We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

At one point, Will Smith was the biggest movie star in the world. While he had a bit of a PR snafu (to put it lightly) a couple of years ago when he slapped Chris Rock on stage at the Oscars, he's recovered well in the eyes of the public, given the success of this year's "Bad Boys: Ride or Die" at the box office. Margot Robbie, meanwhile, is about as big as modern stars get, with her rise to stardom culminating in last year's mega-hit "Barbie." So, what happens when you put these two big stars in a movie together? You get a number one hit on Netflix. It just so happens that the movie in question was made nearly a decade ago.

2015's "Focus," directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, recently made its way to Netflix and...
