The great attraction of The Apprentice – charm is too strong a term for it – is the always vast gap between the Bezos/Musk/Gates level-aspirations of the competitors and their dismally limited abilities. The unspoken foundational irony of The Apprentice has always been that if any of these characters had any real entrepreneurial instinct, they’d be doing the equivalent of what the young Alan Sugar was doing when he started out in the 1960s, and selling car aerials up and down the Charing Cross Road. They’d be too busy slaving away on their new website, chasing orders and “encouraging” their staff to work harder, to muck around with some superannuated reality TV show.
Which is my way of welcoming series 17 of the Alan Sugar show. And the contestants don’t let us down. The show’s producers seem to be engaged in battle against the law of diminishing returns.

It's been two months since New York Magazine published its feature story on 35 of Bill Cosby's accusers, complete with striking cover image of the women seated side-by-side, next to an empty chair for those who chose not to come forward publicly. (To date, more than 50 women have accused Cosby of sexual assault.)
Thursday night, A&E aired Cosby: The Women Speak, a one-hour documentary featuring 13 of those women, seated and stoic, telling their stories – which are all the more chilling onscreen.
Here are 10 things we learned from watching the special.

The rising chorus of voices rising up against scandal-plagued comedian Bill Cosby has increased by one. Former “The Cosby Show” actor Joseph C. Phillips, who played Denise Huxtable’s husband Lt. Martin Kendall on the NBC sitcom, has pointed a finger at his former TV father-in-law in a column on his website titled, “Of Course Bill Cosby Is Guilty!” In the lengthy blog post, Phillips recalls that, during his “Cosby Show” tenure, “my attitude was that if Bill was cheating on Camille, I am fairly certain Camille knew. Hey, if everyone who claimed to know actually knew, then certainly Camille.

Nathan Fillion’s Castle Replaces City Boss
Looks like the world of Castle is getting a new mayor to interact with Nathan Fillion’s title character, except the mayor is staying the same while the actor portraying him is replaced. The first actor to play Mayor Robert Weldon was Joseph C. Phillips. He did the role for two episodes back in Season 1. While there’s no information given as to why the role was recast, we can at least dish out a good chunk of information about some of the changes that will come with the new actor.
According to TVLine, Damages actor Derek Webster will take over as Mayor Weldon. With his casting comes a major role expansion for the character. Specifically, the show will explore Weldon’s backstory, particularly his friendship with Castle that led to his partnering with Beckett. However, it is that exact friendship that becomes...

A new mayor is about to take office on Castle.
TV Line reports that Derek Webster (Mental, Damages, Harry's Law) will take over the character of NYC's top politician, Robert Weldon, a role portrayed by Joseph C. Phillips during a pair of season one episodes.
Look for Weldon to take on more of an active role in early 2012, though exactly in what way is unclear. But it will likely center around the mayor's long-time friendship with a certain sarcastic author, along with an upcoming scandal that may bring down Weldon's career.
Castle is off tonight, but returns with a new, intriguing episode next Monday. View its official preview Now.

Castle has elected a new mayor.
Damages‘ Derek Webster is taking over the role of Robert Weldon, the show’s (fictional) New York City Mayor, sources confirm to TVLine exclusively.
He replaces General Hospital grad Joseph C. Phillips, who previously played the Big Apple’s top politico in two Season 1 episodes.
The role will be beefed up considerably under Webster (who also starred in the short-lived Fox drama Mental). For starters, producers are mining the character’s pivotal backstory — namely his longstanding friendship with Castle (Nathan Fillion) — in a major way.
As you know, it was Weldon’s political clout...

After the immediate success of ABC's Lost and Desperate Housewives, the networks thought that viewers wanted to see more serial dramas. That didn't work out very well.
Vanished centers around the sudden disappearance of Sara Collins (Joanne Kelly), a teacher and the wife of Senator Jeffery Collins (John Allen Nelson). Once the FBI gets involved, the secrets of Sara and those around her start to come spewing out and many have possible motives including her husband's political enemies, son Max (John Patrick Amedori), and daughter Marcy (Margarita Levieva).
FBI Agents Graham Kelton (Gale Harold) and Lin Mei (Ming-Na) lead the investigation of Sara's disappearance. Before Kelton can tell what he's uncovered, he's murdered and Agent Daniel Lucas (Eddie Cibrian), takes over the case.
