Owen Wilson is getting his second chance by way of Apple TV+. The actor is leading sports comedy series “Stick,” which he also executive produces. Wilson stars as Pryce Cahill, an over-the-hill, ex-pro golfer whose career was derailed 20 years ago amid a scandal. Yet Pryce finds a career resurgence thanks to scouting (and coaching and caddying for) a 17-year-old golf phenom (Peter Dager). The duo might be an unlikely pair on the green, but will this save Pryce both personally and professionally?

The official synopsis reads: “After the collapse of his marriage and getting fired from his job at an Indiana sporting goods store, Pryce hedges his bets, and future, entirely on a troubled 17-year-old golf phenom named Santi (Dager).” The series is billed as being a “heartfelt, feel-good sports comedy about a found family and their relationships set within the world of golf as it has never been shown before.

Veteran showrunner Noah Hawley, the creator of Fargo, has signed with WME for representation in all areas.

The novelist, screenwriter and series creator is set to debut in summer 2025 Alien: Earth, a prequel for FX to the 1979 film by director Ridley Scott, with Hawley showrunning the sci-fi horror series set to bow on Hulu. The series centers on Xenomorph, a feral and screeching creature, and has an international cast that includes Sydney Chandler and Timothy Olyphant.

As the title suggests, series will be set on Earth and take place near the end of the 21st century, before the event’s of Ridley Scott’s 1979 space-horror classic.

Hawley and his 26 Keys production banner recently created the fifth chapter of the FX anthology series Fargo. Hawley will serve as executive producer, writer, showrunner and director. The Fargo TV franchise has earned over 70 Emmy nominations and won 7 trophies.

FX’s “Alien: Earth” is expected to arrive this summer and anticipation builds as their series of immersive experiences continues next weekend in Las Vegas.

After an overwhelmingly successful launch at SXSW, fans can visit the immersive experience that lets guests explore the wreckage of the Uscss Maginot in Las Vegas’ AREA15 from May 16-17.

“The Wreckage” at AREA15 invites guests to “embark on an exploratory mission where they will have the chance to discover newly added interactive elements, pulse-pounding thrills, and get up close and personal with alien specimens retrieved by Prodigy Corp. Visitors beware: a containment breach has occurred, and hidden dangers lurk within.”

Fans will be able to explore the mysterious debris to unearth new details from the highly anticipated upcoming sci fi series from creator Noah Hawley. The immersive activation will also feature exclusive giveaways and photo opportunities. Entry is free and open to the public.

Tom Hardy’s new action movie, Havoc, has only been streaming on Netflix for a couple of weeks, but it has been anything but well-received by general audiences. After debuting with a solid critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes, it seemed like Havoc was heading in the right direction, but fans have been much harsher on the film than reviewers. XYZ Films has hired former 87North and Studio 8 executive Guy Danella as its President of Film.

The company has said Danella will be tasked with acquiring and producing a slate of high-end genre films geared for the theatrical market.

Danella was most recently an executive at David Leitch’s 87North Films, where he produced such films as Universal’s Violent Night, Love Hurts starring Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan, and The Trip directed by Jorma Taccone and starring Jason Segel, Samara Weaving, Timothy Olyphant, and Juliette Lewis. The Trip is a remake of the Norwegian film I Onde Dager and is currently in post-production. XYZ films financed both I Onde Dager and the remake.

Before that, Danella was a partner at Jeff Robinov’s Studio 8, working on titles such as Apple’s Instigators, Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu, and Robert Rodriguez’s Hypnotic. He also served as the SVP of Production...

This summer, FX and Hulu will debut the latest entry in the iconic sci-fi horror franchise Alien. Titled Alien: Earth, this will be the Xenomorph's first television series, It's set in the year 2120, around two years before the original 1979 film starring Sigourney Weaver. And as the name implies, this time around, the action will take place on Earth itself.

I've had some reservations about how that might work in the larger context of the franchise, which often revolves around how utterly essential it is to keep the invasive Xenomorphs from ever reaching the human home planet. But with each new glimpse of Alien: Earth we get, those fears become quieter.

Guy Danella has been named president of film at XYZ Films, overseeing theatrical production and acquisition. Danella’s previous producing credits include Love Hurts starring Ke Huy Quan and Violent Night starring David Harbour, both released through Universal Pictures.

Danella’s first project with XYZ is The Trip, a remake of Tommy Wirkola’s 2021 Norwegian thriller Onde Dager, originally financed by XYZ. The story follows a married couple retreating to a remote cabin under the pretense of saving their marriage. Both secretly plan to kill the other before unexpected visitors arrive. Jorma Taccone directs the adaptation, which features Juliette Lewis, Timothy Olyphant, Jason Segel, and Samara Weaving. The film is in post-production.

XYZ Films has hired former 87North and Studio 8 executive Guy Danella to the new position of president of film to lead a slate of high-end theatrical genre films.

Danella will oversee acquiring and producing films. The roster includes Jorma Taccone’s The Trip starring Jason Segel, Samara Weaving, Timothy Olyphant, and Juliette Lewis, which is in post and is the English-language remake of Tommy Wirkola’s 2021 Norwegian action comedy I Onde Dager. XYZ Films produces with David Leitch’s 87North and is financing, as it did on the original.

The collaboration was instrumental in XYZ Films bringing in Danella.

Guy Danella has been named the new president of film at XYZ Films, tasked with heading up theatrical production and acquisition at the genre specialist.

Danella’s production credits include the Ke Huy Quan actioner Love Hurts and Tommy Wirkola’s Violent Night, starring David Harbour, both Universal Pictures releases. He will kick off his XYZ slate with The Trip, an adaptation of Wirkola’s 2021 Norwegian thriller Onde Dager, which XYZ financed.

The film follows a dysfunctional couple who head to a remote cabin, ostensibly to try and rescue their marriage. But both have secret plans to kill the other. Before they can do anything, unexpected visitors arrive, putting them both in greater danger. Jorma Taccone is directing the remake, which stars Jason Segel, Samara Weaving, Juliette Lewis and Timothy Olyphant, . The film is currently in post-production.

Happy Alien Day!

Two new teasers for Noah Hawley's Alien: Earth have been released online. One spotlights the gestation cycle of a Xenomorph (in graphic detail), while the other reveals that the iconic acid-blooded beasts are not the only extraterrestrial threat our planet will face in the series!

According to the voiceover, “five different lifeforms from the darkest corners of the universe — each one a unique, deadly species” were chosen to bring back to Earth for study (never a good idea).

We don't get a proper look at the other lifeforms in the crates, but this doesn't sound like five different variations or subspecies of Xenomorph. A group of brand-new alien creatures would certainly prove to be an intriguing and unexpected addition to this series.

The Night Comes for Us is an Indonesian action thriller film written and directed by Timo Tjahjanto. The 2018 film follows Ito, a former crime enforcer on a deadly mission to rescue a young girl from a ruthless crime syndicate.

Following the culmination of his Venom trilogy, Tom Hardy entered a very eventful 2025: the release of his gangster series, MobLand, and the recently released Netflix action film, Havoc. The latter has been in development for a long time, with several reshoots, but it still wasn't enough to convince the audience.

Havoc premiered on Netflix on Apr. 25. The action film, with Gareth Evans at the helm, debuted with a disappointing score of 61% on Rotten Tomatoes from the critics, which was barely enough for a "fresh" score. However, as more reviews came in,Havoc's critics' score slightly improved to 66%, but as the audience started reviewing it, they were less and less impressed, as Hardy's new film has an unfortunate 49% approval from the audience.

Havoc plunges us into an unnamed city where rain never ceases and danger lurks around every neon-lit corner. During one violent Christmas Eve, Gareth Evans returns to the world of uncompromising action, trading the claustrophobic apartment tower of The Raid for a sprawling urban battlefield.

At its center is Walker (Tom Hardy), a detective whose badge feels heavier than his conscience. He’s paired with Ellie (Jessie Mei Li), a beat cop whose idealism clashes with his war-weary pragmatism. Their mission—rescuing Charlie (Justin Cornwell) and Mia (Quelin Sepulveda), two civilians caught in a botched triad operation—serves as both catalyst and excuse for an escalating chain of set pieces.

The director of The Raid movies has come up with another action thriller, this time on Netflix. Tom Hardy’s Havoc is an out-and-out action thriller from Gareth Evans, with bullets flying all over the place. For the fans of such high-octane thrillers, Havoc is super exciting to watch. However, if you’re someone who’ll nit-pick every detail in a movie, you might be disappointed at some of the scenes.

While Evans knew that he would disappoint such moviegoers, he still proceeded to exaggerate the number of bullets flying. However, if you really need an explanation, Evans has a logic behind those scenes. The director couldn’t help but include those gunfight scenes, which are a clear influence of Hong Kong films and filmmakers like Johnnie To, John Woo, and Ringo Lam.
