Exclusive: 20th Century Studios has boarded an adaptation of Children of the Jungle, with Giannina Scott aboard to produce and Roberto Bentivegna penning the script. Scott will produce through her Cara Films banner alongside Scott Free’s Ridley Scott and President of Film Michael Pruss.

The script is based on investigative journalist Mat Youkee’s book Forty Days in the Jungle and follows the June 2023 rescue of four Indigenous children after the light aircraft carrying them crashed and left them for 40 days in the Colombian Amazon rainforest. Their challenges have been heralded as one of the great survival stories of all time.

Through interviews with the family, members of the Indigenous community and military search teams as well as elders from Colombia’s Amazonian communities, Forty Days in the Jungle recounts the story in the words of its complex young characters. Ridley Scott is one of the most respected and powerful filmmakers working in Hollywood, and has been for decades. Meanwhile, Henry Cavill, the star of "Man of Steel" and "The Witcher," is currently one of the biggest actors in the business. One would imagine a team up between these two would result in something major. Well, that collaboration did happen back in 2006 and all it resulted in, sad to say, is a big flop that effectively killed the production company that backed it.

The movie in question is "Tristan & Isolde," a historical epic that was once a passion project for Scott. The director loves historical epics to this day, having recently directed the blockbuster "Gladiator II," a sequel to his 2000 Best Picture-winner. Good things can happen when Scott is in the director's chair. Unfortunately, Scott was merely a producer on this film.

Production on the eighth and final installment of Starzs hit historical drama Outlander has finally wrapped. This comes ahead of the shows mid-season return on Nov. 22 for the second half of Season 7, which will conclude its 16-episode run on January 10, 2025.

Posted on Instagram, Starz also shared behind-the-scenes photos from the set of Outlander Season 8, featuring the main cast, including Sam Heughan and Caitrona Balfe, as they completed shooting their final scenes for the series. Each of them can be seen holding a clapboard, where theyve written the things they want to take from the set. But it was her extremely public 1963 divorce from Ian Campbell, the Duke of Argyll, that forever tainted her name with the general public.

That “divorce of the century” serves as the story at the heart of Prime Video’s three-part limited project, “A Very British Scandal.” The drama — and what it says about the double standards to which women in the public eye are held — feels eerily timely in the wake of our recent re-examination of how figures like Spears and Anderson have been treated in the media.

The story never fails to drive that message home, but in end that may also be its biggest flaw.

BBC One and Amazon Studios have revealed several first look images from upcoming series “A Very British Scandal,” featuring Claire Foy, two-time Emmy winner for Netflix’s “The Crown.”

Foy stars as Margaret Campbell, Duchess of Argyll, alongside Paul Bettany (“WandaVision”) as Ian Campbell, 11th Duke of Argyll, and Julia Davis (“Nighty Night”) as Maureen, Marchioness of Dufferin and Ava.

Written by Sarah Phelps (“The Pale Horse”), the series is from the makers of the award-winning “A Very English Scandal,” Blueprint Pictures. It focuses on the divorce of the Duke and Duchess of Argyll, one of the most notorious legal cases of the 20th century. Famed for her charisma, beauty, and style, Margaret, Duchess of Argyll, dominated the front pages as the divorce exposed accusations of forgery, theft, violence, drug-taking, bribery, and an explicit Polaroid picture that was to haunt her for the rest of her life.

Moonlight only had one season, consisting of 16 episodes, running from 2007-2008. Its protagonist, and narrator, was Mick St. John (Alex O'Loughlin), a vampire that had been unwillingly turned decades earlier by his ex-wife. He uses his vampire abilities in his profession as a private investigator, trying to make the best of his situation.

Mick feels it is his duty to protect human reporter Beth Turner (Sophia Myles) from harm given he saved her in the past, and the two begin falling for one another, despite being in very different worlds. The two often worked cases together. Their story was cut short, and the series has since developed a cult following. Several memorable episodes came from Moonlight, but there were some that truly stood out from the rest.

Egypt’s El Gouna Film Festival (Gff), rescheduled to take place in person Oct. 23-31, has announced the 18 finalist projects selected to participate in this year’s 4th edition of the CineGouna Platform for projects produced or co-produced by Mena countries, running Oct. 25-30.

Also in its fourth year, CineGouna SpringBoard, a co-production lab dedicated to supporting regional projects, will feature 65 projects in development and 34 films in post-production.

This year, 18 projects were selected to participate in CineGouna Platform, 12 in development and six in post. At the end of the Platform, a best project will be selected and receive the CineGounda Platform Certificate and a cash prize of $15,000.

Doctor Who and Underworld actress Sophia Myles took to Twitter earlier this week to show her followers the deadly serious effects of the Coronavirus. She spent a day posting updates on her father’s condition and most distressing were pictures of him struggling to breathe through an oxygen mask while Myles comforted him. She captioned the photo:

“Yesterday I went on a journey to see my father. This is the harsh reality of the coronavirus.”

Five days into the new year and the movie awards season is in full swing. A chance to celebrate all of the cinematic gold bestowed upon us by filmmakers over the last 365 days, the majority of awards bodies veer towards the positive. The good, the great and the outstanding movie achievements. Of course, you can’t have yin without yang, and that customary glint of deviousness amidst the showers of compliments will soon be upon us, in the shape of the The Annual Golden Raspberry Awards.

Known informally as The Razzies, the achievements are dished out based on how bad the category nominees performed, and this year’s nominees have now been announced. Seth MacFarlane’s A Million Ways To Die In The West beat out its closest competitors for the esteemed honour of most nominations with a whopping eight altogether. Recent limelight comedy, The Interview, also snagged four nominations across three categories.

The Interview has been performing well in its limited theatrical and online VOD release, taking in more than $15 million from online sales and rentals. The comedy has already expanded to cable VOD, Playstation, Vudu and more theaters nationwide. Despite its early success, The Interview has not been received well by at least one organization, The Golden Raspberry Awards, a.k.a. The Razzies, which has released its "short list" of nominees. The Interview is listed in several categories including Worst Picture, Worst On-Screen Combo (James Franco and Seth Rogen) and Worst Actor (both James Franco and Seth Rogen). Even though they were warned not to take the road they are on by local law enforcement. Some are slightly injured; the only building for miles around is a strangely isolated, forebodingly huge house high on a hill.

Wait, it gets better. The old man who appears to be the only inhabitant does not want them to come in the house; they beg and plead since some in their group are injured. Kate Beckinsale starred as the vampire "death dealer" Selene in the first Underworld, which debuted in 2003 and followed the war between the vampires and their sworn enemies, the lycans, a.k.a. werewolves.

The actress returned for the sequel Underworld: Evolution in 2006, although she did not star in the 2009 prequel Underworld 3: The Rise of The Lycans, which featured Michael Sheen and Rhona Mitra. 2012's Underworld Awakening was the final feature within the franchise, which has earned $458.2 million worldwide through all four movies.

8.1 Deep Breath

Well, Peter Capaldi is really rather great. It seems logical to start there, as he's top of the list of big, beaming positives in Deep Breath, the starting point for Doctor Who series 8. From the moment he utters the word "shush" to a typically militaristic Strax, there's little doubt that the newly redesigned Tardis - now with books and dinosaur slobber - is in safe hands.
