- Estranged from Orson Welles for final year of his life, the couple were never divorced. Oja Kodar was Welles' longtime companion both personally and professionally from 1966 on. A year after Orson's 1985 death, Paola and Oja finally agreed on the settling of his will. However, before the papers were signed, Paola was killed in a car accident. Subsequently, Oja reached an agreement with Beatrice Welles, daughter of Mori and Welles.
