The voice cast of "Invincible" is an astonishing line-up of talent. Steven Yeun voices the lead, Mark Grayson aka Invincible, and J.K. Simmons plays his father, Nolan Grayson aka Omni-Man. The supporting cast includes Sandra Oh (as Mark's mom Debbie), Gillian Jacobs (Atom Eve), and Walton Goggins (Natsec spook Cecil Stedman). Guest stars have ranged from Aaron Paul (Powerplex) to Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Conquest) to Michael Dorn as the alien warrior Battle Beast.

Resembling a white-furred humanoid feline, Battle Beast lives for, well, battle. He dreams of finding an opponent worthy of his strength. Now, "Invincible" writer Robert Kirkman and artist Ryan Ottley are returning to the original comics to tell more of Battle Beast's story in a new ongoing series: "Invincible Universe: Battle Beast."

I recently spoke with Kirkman and Ottley about their work on "Battle Beast." When the...

Joe Rogan Thinks It’s Weird People Are Still Watching The Walking Dead
Image
Joe Rogan has had some interesting conversations on his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, and some are as nerdy as his deep dive into the weapons used in The Walking Dead. Speaking to actor and podcaster Theo Von, Rogan dove deep into why some of the weaponry in the show makes no sense.

On the other hand, Von wondered if people were still interested in the show when its finale came around. Rogan agreed that it might be odd that people were still watching it, given that the show had been going for quite some time, and there were some changes to the narrative and tone, which could have alienated some audiences.

Joe Rogan thinks that people might have been fed up with seeing zombies get killed Joe Rogan in The Joe Rogan Experience || Credits: @PowerfulJRE/YouTube

Twd: Dead City Season 2 Episode 2 Is a Bombastic Mad Max-Esque Hour That Deviates from Wider Franchise
Image
Ever since news broke that Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan were joining forces for a spinoff of The Walking Dead, there were questions about how much Maggie and Negan were willing to put up with each other.

Wild fan theories and speculation about the pair ensued, but The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 Episode 2 highlighted their mutual goal of keeping Hershel safe.

Despite what people may think of Negan, he’s shown up in many different ways for Maggie and Hershel, whether on The Walking Dead Season 11 or The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 1, he’s always been trying to right the wrongs of the past.

(AMC/Screenshot)

But how long will he be able to navigate that now that he’s in this position of faux power?

By that, I mean that Dama wants him to commit big, sweeping acts of terror that have ripple effects throughout the...

The Walking Dead: Dead City review: Episode 202, "Another Shitty Lesson"
Image
One of the last times The Walking Dead Universe had a war on the scale of what we're currently seeing in Dead City season 2 was the All Out War storyline from the main show, which pitted the Alexandrians against the Saviors. What's the connection to that war, you may be asking? Well, Negan is once again at the epicentre of things.

However, the Negan we're seeing in the battle for Manhattan is a very different person from the ruthless, cut-throat one who led the Saviors back in the day. Given the fact that he's caught between a rock and a hard place by being blackmailed into being a leader by the Dama, Negan is reluctantly going about his duties. There's something very introspective about Negan this season. On the one hand, you can tell by the occasional wry grins that there's a sadistic side to him that enjoys being reunited with "Lucille 2.0." On the other,...

‘The Walking Dead: Dead City’ Cast on Season 2’s Battle for Methane (Video)
Image
The Walking Dead: Dead City‘s sophomore round is off to an electrifying start. AMC’s spinoff of the zombie franchise has set up a new battle, taking place in Upper Manhattan, between New Babylon and the bloodthirsty gangs left fighting for room in the concrete jungle. What are they fighting for? The power to control the methane operation that’s strong enough to light up Radio City Musical Hall again. On one side, there’s newly-promoted Colonel Perlie Armstrong (Gaius Charles), not-so-friendly new face Major Lucia Narvaez (Orange Is the New Black‘s Dascha Polanco), and a reluctant Maggie (Lauren Cohan). On the other side, there’s the Dama (Lisa Emery) and the also-reluctant Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), who has been tasked by the former with uniting Manhattan’s gangs into an army to defeat New Babylon. At the top of the list of baddies Negan has to woo...

Twd: Dead City’s Jeffrey Dean Morgan Does His Damnedest to Plug a Massive Plot Hole
Image
If as you’re watching The Walking Dead: Dead City, you’re sitting there wondering why Negan is letting The Dama pull his strings rather than just, you know, killing her the way he has so many other characters, you’re not alone. Jeffrey Dean Morgan tells TVLine that co-star Lauren Cohan has been bewildered, too — frequently. “She used to come to me on set almost daily and say, ‘I just don’t understand why you don’t kill her.’

“That was a question that I had, too,” he continues. “So we would ask Eli [Jorné, the series’ creator], like, ‘What the heck?’”

Why HBO originally passed on making The Walking Dead
Image
AMC's The Walking Dead is still going strong after way over a decade on our screens. The franchise is currently airing Dead City season 2, continuing the story of unlikely duo Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), who are in conflict in zombie-ridden Manhattan. To date, the entire Walking Dead Universe has aired over 300 episodes in total, putting it among the longest-running television franchises in the world today.

Before the adaptation of Robert Kirkman's comic was adapted by AMC, the series was originally shopped around a number of networks. This includes both NBC and HBO, the home of Game of Thrones. In a 2012 interview with The Huffington Post, The Walking Dead producer Greg Nicotero explained that HBO passed on the adaptation because it was too violent for their audiences, and they requested the violence to be turned down. At that time, the comic was ongoing and full...

'It's Sort of Tragic': The Boys Showrunner Reveals What Homelander Really Wants More Than Anything Else
Image
The Boys' fifth and final season culminates the long-running Homelander saga, with fans awaiting the payoff to his many controversies and an expected clash with Billy Butcher. As deplorable and self-serving as Homelander can be, showrunner Eric Kripke believes that despite the Seven leader's dastardly ways, there is something less sinister at the heart of the character that fuels him.

Speaking with TV Insider, Kripke teased what fans can expect from Homelander in Season 5 and offered insight into what makes Antony Starr's character tick. Though Homelander is hard to sympathize with, considering his penchant for chaos, Kripke insists his desire to be loved is at the root of his complexities.

"The thing about Homelander — and I was just talking to Antony about this yesterday — is it’s sort of tragic, actually, but ultimately, the guy just wants someone to love him. He tries amassing all of this power just...

“It Was Such a Big Responsibility”: Lauren Cohan on Her "Life-Changing" ‘Supernatural’ Experience [Exclusive]
Image
The bonds of Supernatural run deep. Like the ongoing procedural, Law & Order, the 15-season drama was a stopping point for many acclaimed actors on their rise to the top. For Adrianne Palicki, it was a speedy but recurring guest appearance just before she skyrocketed to fame in Friday Night Lights, while Sterling K. Brown got his hands dirty with the Winchester brothers before Army Wives, which led him on the path towards This Is Us. Double-dipping into the Supernatural universe, not only did Lauren Cohan enjoy a guest-starring role as a complex villain, but she went on to star with fellow Supernatural alum, Jeffrey Dean Morgan in The Walking Dead and its hit spin-off, The Walking Dead: Dead City, the latter of which having just debuted its second season.

The behind-the-scenes world of Supernatural has a lore of its own, with plenty of fans waiting for further updates about the reunion brewing between its creator,...

The Walking Dead: Norman Reedus Probably Would’ve Said No to Daryl Dixon Spinoff Under One Condition
Image
In 2010, Norman Reedus found himself with some torn rags and some weapons while working on the sets of The Walking Dead. Ever since the first season, Reedus hasn’t looked back on his Hollywood career.

The actor even got a chance to reprise his role after The Walking Dead ended with a spin-off for his own titled The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon (he portrayed the role of Daryl Dixon in the original show). However, Reedus was prepared to say no to the spin-off if his one condition hadn’t been fulfilled.

Norman Reedus didn’t want the same story

Well, the character of Daryl Dixon was specially created for Reedus, and he wasn’t in the original comic books at all. However, Reedus’s audition was simply so iconic that they had to create a character specifically for him.

Norman Reedus in a still from The Walking Dead: Daryl...

15 Best TV Shows Like Supernatural
Image
When we first met Sam and Dean Winchester on "Supernatural," they were just a pair of estranged brothers with a whole host of daddy issues attempting to track down their missing father (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). They -- and we -- never could have imagined the journey that the Winchesters would go on over the course of the show's astonishing 15 seasons. From their humble origins as hunters to becoming pawns in a larger battle between God and the Devil, the best "Supernatural" episodes saw these two boys put through the gamut.

With such a long series run, "Supernatural" was able to embrace every facet of the genre, including goofier and increasingly meta storylines right around the show's 10th season. "Supernatural" was beloved by its fans, as evinced by thousands of pages of fan fiction produced and the enthusiastic response to its stars' appearances at conventions. If you're still mourning its loss,...

The Walking Dead: Dead City Continues Unfortunate Audience Trend for Season 2
Image
After the end of The Walking Dead series, the franchise continued with several spin-off shows starring fan-favorite characters. The Walking Dead: Dead City follows Negan and Maggie, and the show has just returned with a new season.

Dead City Season 1 consisted of six episodes and premiered in June 2023. The show took two years to return, and the unlikely duo is back with a new batch of episodes after its May 4 premiere. However, The Walking Dead: Dead City has continued an unfortunate audience trend on Rotten Tomatoes, with an even worse score from the viewers than Season 1.

Maggie and Negan were already an unexpected duo, considering that, shortly after his debut in the original The Walking Dead series, Negan killed Maggie's husband, Glenn. Following the end of the series, the duo teamed up and traveled to a post-apocalyptic Manhattan to search for Maggie's kidnapped son, Hershel. The interest in the franchise is clear,...

Image
Season 2 of The Walking Dead : Dead City kicked off with a bang this past Sunday night, continuing the adventures of sworn enemies Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) in New York City. While Maggie and her son Hershel were adjusting to life in the Bricks, Negan found himself a prisoner of the Croat in Manhattan. However, thanks to a recruitment drive from the New Babylon Federation, it looks like their paths will cross again, as Maggie heads back to the city with Ginny (Mahina Napoleon) in tow. Meanwhile, Negan was reunited with another lady in his life: a new version of his barbed wire baseball bat Lucille.

Lucille wasn’t the only return that Walking Dead fans were pleased to see, as the Dead City premiere also came with a new teaser for The Walking Dead’s other spinoff series, Daryl Dixon.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan on Negan's Walking Dead journey: "I don’t ever picture it ending"
Image
Despite joining The Walking Dead in the most controversial way possible at the end of season 6, Jeffrey Dean Morgan has become a central figure in the franchise. His character, Negan, made his explosive debut by beating both Abraham and Glenn to death with his barbed-wire covered baseball bat, Lucille. He'd go on to wage all-out war against Rick Grimes and our survivors. And now, in Dead City season 2, he's in a leadership position in The Big Apple!

To say Negan keeps falling on his feet would be an understatement. There's been so many opportunities for characters to kill him over the years, but he keeps getting away with it. He must be among the most frequently jailed characters in television history. And yet, in Dead City season 2, the Dama has reunited him with Lucille and thrust him unwittingly back into the spotlight. He's now one of the most important people in Manhattan,...

The Only Original The Walking Dead Characters Still Alive Today
Image
"The Walking Dead" and its assorted spin-offs have presided over the small screen segment of the zombie genre for a very long time. Typically, characters in any project involving the, well, walking dead have the life expectancy of a mayfly, so even more impressive than the franchise's longevity is the fact that a handful of series originals are still hanging on to their post-apocalyptic existence in various corners of the land, keeping their respective shows alive.

Yes, despite the fact that the mortality rate among the show's characters is extremely high for obvious reasons, a precious few have indeed managed to make it to the present with their lives intact. Granted, the paths they've taken are wildly different. Some of them have taken extended periods of leave from the show, while others started out as fairly inconsequential season 1 figures and only rose in prominence later down the line. Still, there's...

Warning: The Following Contains Mild Spoilers for The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2, Episode 1, "Power Equals Power"

The Walking Dead: Dead City finally made its long-awaited Season 2 premiere last night on AMC after a two-year absence, and fans were not disappointed. Starring Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, the fifth series in the franchise serves as a direct sequel to The Walking Dead, which ended in 2022. While fans got to see Morgan's character of Negan in a precarious position after being presented with what many are calling Lucille 2.0, he says there was a lot more to that scene that ended up on the cutting room floor that would have made it have even more of an impact on viewers.

Speaking with Deadline, Morgan noted how far Negan has come since fans were first introduced to him back in 2016, and how he's gone from a ruthless killer to an antihero savior.

What Happens To Oliver Grayson In The Invincible Comics
Image
As Mark Grayson (voiced by Steven Yeun) and his allies keep finding out, the world of "Invincible" is not your everyday superhero universe. With all-powerful Viltrumites and all forms of threats both earthly and cosmic running rampant, humanity's fate is eternally at stake in the Prime Video series. This makes it all the more frustrating when Mark's younger half-brother, Oliver "Kid Omni-Man" Grayson (Christian Convery), keeps adding to the chaos with the very peculiar and pragmatic outlook that comes with his Viltrumite-Thraxan upbringing and unfamiliarity with human customs like "thinking twice before killing people, regardless of what they've done."

Or so it might seem. Despite Oliver's potential as an annoying kid character extraordinaire, he -- like so many other "Invincible" characters -- soon establishes himself as a far more complex presence than his first impressions would suggest. The "Invincible" season 3 finale's battle against the villainous Conquest (Jeffrey Dean Morgan...

'I Don't Know Why': Jeffrey Dean Morgan Laments Lucille 2.0 Moment Getting Cut From Twd: Dead City Season 2
Image
Negan's "Lucille" baseball bat is a vital part of Walking Dead lore, and actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan knows it. And it turns out he's incredibly attached to the real-life Lucille prop.

So, needless to say, Morgan was delighted to get a new version of Lucille in The Walking Dead: Dead City season premiere. It wasn't the same as the old Lucille, the one used to beat Maggie's husband Glenn to death: this one came with an electric shock system. Negan was given it by the Croat and immediately used it to shock someone. And throughout it all, Morgan was thrilled to have Lucille in his hands once again.

“Jeffrey could use Lucille,” executive producer Scott M. Gimple told Entertainment Weekly. “He loves Lucille very much. He does not leave Lucille when he goes to his trailer. He actually takes Lucille when he goes to his trailer. He would leave...

Jeffrey Dean Morgan Hypes Going "A Little Mano E Mano" In Walking Dead: Dead City Against Sons Of Anarchy Star
Image
Warning: Spoilers ahead for The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2, episode 1!Jeffrey Dean Morgan hypes up going "a little mano e mano" in The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2 against Sons of Anarchy star Kim Coates. In the premiere of Dead City season 2, Negan (Morgan) gathered the groups of Manhattan together to intimidate them into joining under the Dama's (Lisa Emery) rule. One of these groups was led by Bruegel (Coates), a mysterious, rich and powerful leader with plenty of sway across New York City. While not much is known about him, season 2, episode 1 emphasized his importance for later in the story.

Speaking with Deadline, Morgan teased Negan and Bruegel's conflict in The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2, confirming the characters will soon be at odds with one another. The actor praised Coates' performance on the show, saying he was impressed by his portrayal of the new antagonist. He also...

The Walking Dead: Dead City review: Episode 201, "Power Equals Power"
Image
The Walking Dead: Dead City is back, folks! This time around, Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) find themselves on opposite sides of the battlefield from the outset. A war is brewing in Manhattan. It's a war literally for power itself, with Manhattan able to be powered by the Croat's walker-infused methane power invention.

Season 2 kicks off with Negan back behind bars, having turned down the Dama's offer to place him back into a position of power. But naturally, his ardent denial to get in on the action doesn't last long, especially after the Dama blackmails him by mentioning that they are tracking his wife Annie and son Joshua.

So not only is Negan thrust unwittingly back into a leadership position, but he's also reunited with an all-new version of Lucille. Gifted to him by crazed scientist leader the Croat, 'Lucille 2.0' has a little modification to entice Negan.

12 Years Ago, One Episode of the Walking Dead Became the Focal Point of All Hatred for Killing off a Character That Survived in Robert Kirkman Comics
Image
The Walking Dead was a brutal series set in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by zombies and a bunch of survivors trying to go through it all. Based on the comics of Robert Kirkman, the show found incredible fame and global acclaim due to being one of the best.

Despite it being a zombie story, the comic books and the show focused heavily on the characters themselves and the interrelations among them. However, much like every other adaptation, the show started deviating from the comic books at some points. This wasn’t appreciated by everyone.

What happened to Laurie Holden’s Andrea in The Walking Dead?

Let’s be honest here. What happened to Laurie Holden’s Andrea in The Walking Dead can be summed up in two words: character assassination. Although fans hated her in the TV show, she wasn’t like this at all in the comic books by Robert Kirkman.

Move Over Ad & BC, The Walking Dead’s Spinoff The Walking Dead: Dead City Has Introduced A New Time Measuring System For Twd Universe
Image
Has Twd’s spinoff introduced a wacky time system? (Photo Credit – Prime Video)

The Twd Universe within the show has expanded and incorporated several offshoot trajectories, which can be a little confusing to keep track of. The timeline in The Walking Dead universe is different from what we usually see. While we usually use A.D. or B.C. to mark the historical dates, the Twd universe reportedly has a time marker of its own.

With the premiere of Dead City season 2, there was an unmentioned presence of date in one of the scenes in the first episode. The entrance of the Bricks’ residence had the date “Founded 17 P.D.I.” This dating method could mean a timeline after the outbreak of the dead. While there has been no confirmation about the usage of a new time measure in the show, it can be assumed that there is one, as...

Jeffrey Dean Morgan Explains Negan’s Final Scene With Lucille In Season 2, Episode 1: “This Bat Wasn’t His Creation”
Image
Warning: There are spoilers ahead for The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2, episode 1.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan addresses the real meaning of Negan's final scene with Lucille in The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2, episode 1. Morgan's iconic character previously wielded a bat wrapped in barbed wire, referred to as Lucille, which was named after his late wife. In the Dead City season 2 premiere, The Croat (Željko Ivanek) gives Negan a new bat named Lucille, but Negan is seen dropping it to the floor in the final moments of the episode.

While speaking with Deadline, Morgan explains that Negan drops the bat because it is not the real Lucille, and he doesn't like being reminded of who he used to be. He shares that a previous version of the scene that was cut showed Negan not just dropping the bat, but throwing it across the cell. Morgan also reveals that even...

‘The Walking Dead: Dead City’ Season 2 Drops Apocalypse Pros Maggie and Negan ‘Back Down to Zero’
Image
Note: This story contains spoilers from “The Walking Dead: Dead City” Season 2, Episode 1

After a combined 18 seasons in “The Walking Dead” universe, Scott M. Gimple considers Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) to be zombie-bashing pros. That’s why it’s been so thrilling to force these two characters to return to the highest stakes apocalypse landscape imaginable in “The Waking Dead: Dead City”: New York City.

“New York is a new environment for them. They might be pros out in the world, but in New York, they kind of go back down to zero,” Gimple, chief content officer for “The Walking Dead” television franchise, told TheWrap. “That’s refreshing. After all this time, they don’t know what’s around every corner. They don’t know how to handle every situation that falls in their lap. And we see their strength, heroism and maybe the ability...

The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2 episode 1 recap and ending explained
Image
When we last saw Maggie Rhee and Negan, the two old foes had reluctantly teamed up one more time in a bid to save the former's son Hershel from one of the latter's old friends. The world of The Walking Dead is smaller than it might seem, right? But that was the premiere of the first season of The Walking Dead: Dead City as the two ventured into the dangerous territory of a walker-ridden Manhattan in the hopes of finding Hershel alive.

The season ended with a cliffhanger that confirmed that at least some of the new post-Walking Dead Twd Universe spinoffs would return for subsequent seasons. Maggie had traded Negan to The Croat in return for her son, leaving New York City behind as her longtime rival was forced to face ghosts of his past (and potentially relive it too). It set the stage for a very interesting second season,...

The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2 gets disappointing UK release date update
Image
Few franchises have stood the test of time quite like The Walking Dead Universe. Nearly three years after the end of the original series, the characters it introduced us to continue to dominate our screens. From the long-running spinoffs to the more recent offshoots, the Twd Universe is still a staple of the TV and pop-culture landscapes.

The first of those recent offshoots was The Walking Dead: Dead City, which brought back two long-standing cast members of the original series for a new adventure in the Big Apple. Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan reteamed as sworn enemies Maggie Rhee and Negan, as the two ventured into Manhattan to rescue Maggie's son. The six-episode season showcased how they struggled to work together and laid the groundwork for a more unique second season.

Fans around the world are eagerly awaiting the second season of Dead City especially as its US debut is imminent,...

Why Katherine Heigl's Izzie Stevens Left Grey's Anatomy
Image
Partway through the sixth season of Shonda Rhimes' massive hit "Grey's Anatomy", we see Isobel "Izzie" Stevens, one of the series' original surgical interns played by Katherine Heigl, for the final time. To call Izzie's exit abrupt is ... an understatement. After getting fired from Seattle Grace-Mercy West hospital, Izzie flees, leaving her new husband, Dr. Alex Karev (Justin Chambers), behind. When she comes back in "I Like You So Much Better When You're Naked," she suggests that maybe she and Alex can fix things; he tells her that's not possible, and Izzie is never seen or heard from again.

Characters leave "Grey's Anatomy" all the time. Patrick Dempsey's leading man, Dr. Derek Shepherd (often referred to as "McDreamy"), left the series in season 11, Sandra Oh hung up her stethoscope in season 10 when her character, Dr. Cristina Yang, moved to Switzerland, and even the titular Meredith Grey, played by Ellen Pompeo,...

Image
The newest villain in The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2 may beat out the franchise's biggest antagonist, according to executive producer Scott M. Gimple. It will see the reluctant partners fighting for control of Manhattan, albeit they're on opposite sides. It will be complicated by the arrival of a new baddie: Bruegel, who is played by Sons of Anarchy and Prison Break alum Kim Coates.

In an interview with ScreenRant's Tatiana Hullender, Gimple offered insight into how Bruegel and his group of survivors operated and what makes them stand out compared to past Walking Dead villains. Gimple, who is the chief content officer of The Walking Dead universe at AMC, explained all of...

Cue up the Carole King, because you've got a friend in The Four Seasons.

Adapted from the 1981 film of the same name, Netflix's newest comedy series hails from 30 Rock alumni Tina Fey, Tracy Wigfield, and Lang Fisher. It follows six longtime friends — three couples portrayed by Fey and Will Forte, Steve Carell and Kerri Kenney-Silver, and Colman Domingo and Marco Calvani — across four separate trips, one each season, over the course of a single year. Now, this isn't a fantasy series, so we're not sure how they're affording all these trips in this economy, but let's chalk it up to the magic of television. A bit less magical, however, is the relationship between Carell's Nick and Kenney-Silver's Anne,...
