Bill Mondy grew up in Rochester, New York, and is the youngest of three brothers. His father, Don, worked on the railroad and was a WWII fighter pilot stationed in Germany, where he met Bill's mother, Wilhelmine. Bill describes himself as growing up by the law of averages: average grades, average sports, average looks, until he was urged to audition for the school play, and he found his passion.

He began the process of enrolling in the Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) but submitted himself in a nationwide acting competition. This gained him a full scholarship to the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where he earned his BFA. He later earned an MFA with a full scholarship to New York University's Graduate Acting program, a program with a long legacy of Oscar, Emmy, and Tony award-winning actors.

After graduating, Bill stayed in New York and performed off-Broadway in a revival of Lanford Wilson's The Rimer's of Eldritch at The Second Stage. He went on to perform leading roles in regional theaters across the country, including The Arena Stage, The Actor's Theatre of Louisville, The Hunting Theater in Boston, and South Coast Repertory. His then agent moved to Los Angeles, where Bill followed and began a career in film and television.

He's played a number of cops, killers, and bad guys on TV, including LA Law, Touched By an Angel, and UC Undercover. A few aliens on shows like Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Crusade, and Andromeda, and had recurring roles on Blade: The Series, Reunion, and Smallville, and nearly 40 episodes of The Dead Zone with Anthony Michael Hall, as Deputy Roscoe.

His film credits include The Crow: Salvation, I Spy, with Owen Willison and Eddie Murphy, and Miracle with Kurt Russell.

Alongside his on-camera career, Bill's voice career began when an editor friend lost his announcer and needed someone to voice a series of AM radio medical ads.

Since then, Bill has narrated a number shows, including Missing Persons: The First 48 on A&E, Last Day of the Dinosaurs on Discovery, Edge Of War on Military, China's Warrior King for National Geographic, and The Hunt for Dark Matter on CuriosityStream. He's voiced many radio, television and digital campaigns and created characters for animated series, including Mr. Black and Brain Freezer on Johnny Test, Memnock on Supernoobs, and Burnt Oak on My Little Pony, as well as being a promo voice for Disney and CBS.

Bill now spends most of his time behind the mic and divides his time between Los Angeles and his home studio in Kauai, Hawaii.
