The synopsis reads, "Spider-Noir is a live-action series based on the Marvel comic Spider-Man Noir. Spider-Noir tells the story of an aging and down on his luck private investigator (Cage) in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero."

As per the official press release, the series will be available to watch in black and white and in color. It will debut domestically on MGM+, then launch globally on Prime Video the following day in over 240 countries and territories.

At its annual upfront presentation Monday, Amazon gave a first look at Spider-Noir, the upcoming Spider-Man installment coming to MGM+ and Prime Video in 2026.

Nicolas Cage stars in the series, which is his first regular TV role. The Oscar winner voiced a version of the character in the animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, but the series is live-action. Hugh Jackman will soon be in his shepherd era.

The multi-hyphenate’s upcoming film, Three Bags Full: A Sheep Detective Movie, got a CinemaCon reveal Wednesday night during the Amazon MGM Studios presentation inside the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

Jackman and co-star Emma Thompson appeared in a video segment during the event to tease the film. “It was, as you’ll see from the clip, the most fantastic, loving, beautiful idea, this synthesis between animals and people,” she said.

Added Jackman about the film Kyle Balda directed from Craig Mazin’s script: “Craig Mazin’s wit is just second to none.”

The footage from the movie included, unsurprisingly, plenty of sheep. “The movie is a bit of a whodunit, which is always fun,” Jackman said in one behind-the-scenes clip. “The movie has such heart.”

The movie is based on the 2021 novel by Andy Weir (The Martian) with a script from Drew Goddard. Amazon MGM Studios kicked off its first CinemaCon slate with something truly big, the first look at “Project Hail Mary,” Phil Lord and Christopher Miller’s sci-fi epic starring Ryan Gosling.

In the extended trailer that opened Amazon MGM’s presentation, Gosling plays a middle school teacher brought in to help stop the sun from dying, ultimately forcing him to embark on an impossible quest into deep space, farther than anyone has ever gone, in order to keep not just the Sun from dying, but also every other star in the galaxy. Suffice it to say, he’s reluctant, telling Sandra Hüller that he puts the “not in astronaut.”

For the last five years, a cinematic adaptation of Andy Weir’s novel Project Hail Mary has been in the works. The production has hit several roadbumps on its way from page to screen, but tonight, audiences at CinemaCon were the lucky ones to be the first to feast their eyes on footage of the Ryan Gosling (Barbie)-led film. It’s been a long road, but the dynamite team led by co-directors and producers, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, have seemingly nailed the project, which was adapted for the screen by Buffy the Vampire Slayer writer and High Potentialcreator, Drew Goddard.

Here’s what we saw.

Ryan Gosling is a brainy elementary teacher who has the answers that the professionals need in the trailer for Project Hail Mary. The government recruits the teacher to help with Project Hail Mary, as the sun — and many other stars — are beginning to die.

Ryan Gosling, looking very nerdy and quite un-Ken-like, plays a science teacher turned grudging astronaut in “Project Hail Mary,” a sci-fi adventure that Amazon MGM Studios teased during its presentation to theater owners at CinemaCon on Wednesday.

“I put the ‘not’ in astronaut,” Gosling tells the government handler (Sandra Hüller) who has tapped him to undertake a suicidal space mission. “I can’t even moonwalk.”

The film, an adaptation of Andy Weir’s best-selling novel of the same name, follows an ordinary man who is told he has what it takes to go into the outer reaches of the universe. “You have the right stuff,” Gosling tells Hüller. “I have the wrong stuff.”

He may be reluctant, but the situation is dire. A catastrophic event threatens life as he knows it. “The world is counting on you,” Hüller tells him.

It actually got prime position in kicking off the studios’ inaugural presentation with a cold open that went straight into exclusive footage that lasted several minutes. Once it wrapped, Lord, Miller and Gosling hit the stage to talk about their collaboration.

The final movie in Sony Pictures' animated Spider-Verse trilogy, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, was originally set to swing into theaters on March 29, 2024 before being taken off the calendar last July, and the studio had yet to announce a new release date.

Tonight during Sony's CinemaCon panel, we learned that Beyond the Spider-Verse will officially arrive on June 4, 2027.

Today, at the Sony Pictures presentation at CinemaCon, the release date for the highly anticipated Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse was revealed. The new film will serve as the conclusion to the studio’s Oscar-winning Spider-Verse trilogy.

Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, from Sony Pictures Animation, is scheduled to open in theaters on June 4, 2027.

The trilogy kicked off with Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in 2018. The first film earned $393.6 million at the global box office, with $190.2 million coming from North American theaters and $203.4 million from international markets.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse followed in 2023 and grossed $690.8 million worldwide, with $381.6 million in North America and $309.2 million internationally.

Beyond the Spider-Verse is directed by Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson. The screenplay was written by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and David Callaham.
