    Italian writer-director. A graduate in law, he started out as a legal administrator for the Suvini-Zerboni stage company. He then became a manager of other experimental theatrical organisations. Between 1934 and 1966, he directed numerous commercially successful comedies (often featuring Toto) as well as melodramas.
