Rob Marsh, NZCS Cinematographer

Rob Marsh is an Emmy award-winning cinematographer whose outstanding career has spanned 30 years working on many world class television dramas, feature films and commercials. Rob recently finished shooting Season 2 of the multi award-winning Amazon Studios TV show Deadloch. He was the set-up DOP and this season was shot in Queensland and Northern Territory. Prior to that Rob shot The Last Anniversary which is the highly anticipated TV series written by Liane Moriarty. This 6-part TV series was produced by Fifth Season and Made Up Stories. Rob also teamed up with Fifth Season and Made Up Stories prior to this on the highly successful TV series Strife.

Rob was DOP on all three seasons of the Emmy award-winning series Sweet Tooth. In 2023 he won an Emmy for Outstanding Cinematography for a Single Camera Live Action Program for Season 3. Rob worked on both seasons of The Wilds and he was the lead DOP on The Wilds Season 2 which was shot in Queensland for Amazon.

Rob is accredited by the New Zealand Cinematography Society, and he also won Gold for Outstanding Cinematography for the Netflix TV Series Sweet Tooth in 2024.

Rob's 2nd Unit DOP credits include a number of productions like Spartacus, The Warrior Way, Aliens in the Attic, The Strength of Water and The Shannara Chronicles.

He's also worked on many award-winning feature films like Avatar, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Hobbit and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Rob also shot two New Zealand feature films - The Devil's Rock and Low Down Dirty Criminals.

Rob is highly regarded by his colleagues and peers in both New Zealand, Australia and the US. He has a passion for creating beautiful images and he loves the challenge of bringing scripts to life.
