On Friday, May 2, Washington and Omar Sy appeared on The View. The two were there to promote their new movie, Shadow Force. However, host Ana Navarro wanted Washington to spill the details on the Desperate Housewives reboot called Wisteria Lane.

“It is rumored that you are working on a remake of Desperate Housewives,” Navarro said. Sy reacted with a gleeful noise. As usual, all of us wanted to know more. That’s when Washington confirmed that the project was in the works.

A new documentary titled Wick Is Pain reveals just how close John Wick came to collapsing before it ever became a franchise. Set to premiere digitally on May 9, the surprise John Wick companion piece features over a decade of previously unseen behind-the-scenes footage and previously private insights. The archival footage is complemented by newly recorded interviews with Keanu Reeves, director Chad Stahelski, and producers David Leitch and Basil Iwanyk.

Whoever said you can't go home again was wrong because we're finally heading home to Wisteria Lane. Well, hopefully. On April 29, 2025, the news arrived that Wisteria Lane, an offshoot of the beloved primetime soap, was in the works at Onyx Collective from executive producer Kerry Washington and writer-executive producer Natalie Chaidez. As a Disney brand, Onyx Collective shows stream on Hulu, which means the developing Desperate Housewives reboot would have a streaming home on Hulu.

The 12th edition of the Madrid-hosted Platino Awards, honoring the highest in Ibero-American film and television, saw major wins for the Oscar-winning Brazilian film I’m Still Here, as well as director Walter Salles and star Fernanda Torres (who were not in attendance). The night also featured three accolades for Netflix’s Colombian serialized adaptation of One Hundred Years of Solitude, which took home best actor and supporting actor categories, as well as best television series overall.

The Platino Awards, Ibero-America’s annual film awards ceremony, has got Madrid buzzing, with industry icon Eva Longoria set to pick up the show’s honorary prize on Sunday night.

The biggest filmmakers from central and southern America, Spain and Portugal have flocked to the Spanish capital for the 12th edition of the event, with nominees including the Academy Award-nominated Fernanda Torres for her performance in Walter Salles’ I’m Still Here and Úrsula Corberó in Luis Ortega’s Kill the Jockey.

Among other nominees are Brazilian actor Gabriel Leone for Netflix’s F1 series Senna and Spanish legend Pedro Almodóvar for his English-language debut The Room Next Door, which premiered in Venice last year.

In Searching for Spain, a luscious eight-episode tour of the country’s cuisine, culture, and unbeatable approach to leisure, the former Desperate Housewives actress reconnects with family in Asturias, samples a pork delicacy in Madrid, and does so much more. “The Spaniards really enjoy life,” she raves. “I feel like they have it right. Their way of living is relaxed and centers around food, family, gathering, and friends.” Here, Longoria shares her love for the land the new Marbella resident now calls home. Aside from the location change, what is most different about this version of Searching? Eva Longoria: It was a different experience because it was Spain. The people obviously are different — same language, but different gastronomy, different history, different ingredients. I get so excited just thinking about all the places we’re going to go.

After the epic conclusion to Season 3 of The Wheel of Time, iwot Studios is once again looking to expand the late Robert Jordan's 14-book series to a new medium. Variety exclusively reports that the production company is working on a new open-world Aaa video game through its new in-house iwot Games team led by Warner Bros. Games veteran Craig Alexander. The ambitious project is planned to build on the success of the Prime Video series and give fans a new way to explore the fantasy world from the Two Rivers to the White Tower and the Aiel Waste beyond. Production is planned to span around three years as the game eyes a launch on PC and consoles.

Exclusive: Joe Sugg and Caspar Lee’s agency Mve has hired a Talent Director from InterTalent.

Meisha Kelly joins the WME Group-backed shop with a host of digital clients including Billy The Goat, Kids Of The Colony, Mac Griffiths, Priscilla Anyabu and Rio Fredrika, who join its broadcast division.

Kelly has spent the past four years as a Senior Agent at Joan Collins and Amber Gill’s agency InterTalent, before she joined Mve a few weeks back. Past employers include M&CSaatchiMerlin and Beresford Management.

Sugg and Lee said Mve’s “rapid growth is fueling an exciting future” as it plots an expansion of the L.A. team and “with the hiring of Meisha Kelly and other exciting developments this year.”

UK talent boss Minnie Harding added: “I am delighted to welcome Meisha Kelly to the team in London. She brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and passion to Mve.

Live with Kelly and Mark fans already know the show went on a long hiatus due to a move to a new studio.

Now, some staffers are sharing behind-the-scenes drama that occurred on the new set of Live, explaining the extra week of reruns fans had to endure.

Typically, Live takes one or two weeks off in the spring, allowing Kelly Ripa and her husband, Mark Consuelos, time to visit their beloved home away from home in Palm Springs.

As the couple nears their retirement from Live, Kelly and Mark enjoy their downtime in Palm Springs, where they hike and, for Mark, practice his golf moves.

The crew waited until spring break to move to the new studio space at 7 Hudson Square, Disney’s New York office building complex that also houses The View.

Sister Actactor Whoopi Goldberg is leading Hollywood's tributes to Pope Francis. The leader of the Catholic Church passed away on Easter Monday at the age of 88 after having been in ill health for some time.

Goldberg took to Instagram to share a message of condolence for the late Pope. "He was the closest in a long time that seemed to remember that Christ’s love enveloped believer[s] and [non-believers]," she wrote in the caption alongside an image of herself and the pontiff. "He felt more like Pope John the 23rd who made belief real. Sail on Pope Frances with your love of humanity and laughter."

Goldberg first met Pope Francis in October 2023. In a recent episode of The View, on which she serves as co-host, the actor revealed that she actually gifted him some Sister Act merchandise which he'd actually asked for.
