Blake Lively is back with a new project, Another Simple Favor. The film, which headed straight to streaming on Prime Video, marked her first release since the It Ends With Us legal battle.

In late December, Lively accused her former co-star Justin Baldoni, who was also the director and producer of It Ends With Us, of sexual harassment on set and a smear campaign to destroy her reputation. An extensive legal battle ensued, with multiple lawsuits and many other defendants involved. A sequel to 2018's A Simple Favor, the new Another Simple Favor reunited Lively with several creatives, and she just received new support from original writer Jessica Sharzer in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

Sharzer wrote the script for the first film, and co-wrote the second with Laeta Kalogridis. The sequel doubled down on the twists of the first movie, which had been a critical and commercial success.

Another Simple Favor is here and given Blake Lively's lawsuits and legal troubles, director Paul Feighas done a lot of the press for the film alone, understandably so. But it has made people online very "aware" of everything leading up to the film's release. And now Feig is setting the record straight on working with Lively and how he thoroughly enjoys collaborating with the Gossip Girl star. In a new interview with Esquire, Feig explained that misconceptions about the movie-making process and his work with Lively is frustrating to see.

“Blake is an amazing collaborator, so when I read people’s misconceptions about how movies are made, it’s just frustrating for me,” Feig told the outlet. “Every star I’ve worked with works this way. The idea that a star just shows up and you go ‘Here’s the script’ – please point me to one movie star who works that way.
