Benedict Cumberbatch will executive produce a new six-part limited series, based on true events, called The Annecy Murders.
Inspired by the infamous Chevaline killings, the show will follow the cold case that captivated the world when on Sep. 5, 2012, a British-Iraqi engineer, his wife, her mother, and a French cyclist were shot dead on a scenic road near Lake Annecy in France. Two young girls, aged 4 and 7, survived, unnoticed by first responders for hours.
The event sparked a vast investigation spanning multiple countries, including France, the U.K., Spain, Israel, Switzerland, and Iraq, involving hundreds of investigators and nearly a thousand witnesses. But the unresolved mystery returned to the spotlight last summer when French authorities reopened the investigation, further fueling public and media speculation.
Carrousel, the production and financing company founded by Louis Leterrier, Omar Sy, and Thomas Benski, joins Cumberbatch’s SunnyMarch and Bob Cooper’s Landscape in bringing the drama to the screen.

Carrousel Studios, SunnyMarch and Landscape are joining forces on six-part psychological thriller The Annecy Murders, inspired by the infamous Chevaline killings in the French Alps, a cold case that continues to draw international attention more than a decade after the crime.
The brutal attack on September 5, 2012 on a quiet, scenic road near Lake Annecy left four dead, including a British Iraqi engineer, his wife, her mother, and a French cyclist. The engineer’s two young daughters miraculously survived.
The killings sparked an investigation spanning multiple countries – including France, the UK, Spain, Israel, Switzerland, and Iraq – involving hundreds of investigators and nearly a thousand witnesses. Theories ranged from familial disputes and lone psychopaths to international espionage and money laundering involving Mossad and Saddam Hussein.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe officially kicked off in 2008 with Iron Man, and is still going strong nearly two decades later with its 36th feature film, Thunderbolts, opening in U.S. theaters on May 2. But for every Oscar-winning juggernaut like Black Panther or beloved action-comedy like Guardians of the Galaxy, there are MCU films that even the truest of fans wish never happened. We've consulted the cumulative IMDb scores and have come up with the definitive ranking of all Marvel Cinematic Universe movies to date.
Produced by Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige, the MCU is a shared universe of American superhero films based on countless editions of Marvel Comics. It's easily the highest-grossing movie franchise in history, topping $31.5 billion globally, with Avengers: Endgame being the biggest earner at $2.8 billion worldwide.
Thunderbolts, directed by Jake Schreier (Beef) and starring Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, will be added to the list...

Most of Marvel Studios’s films are the cinematic equivalent of breadcrumbs, which have been dropped into theaters strategically so as to keep one looking for the next sequel or crossover, when the endless televisual exposition will eventually, theoretically yield an event of actual consequence. Occasionally, however, a Marvel film transcends this impersonality and justifies one’s patience. Weird, stylish, and surprisingly lyrical, Ant-Man, Iron Man 3, and Doctor Strange attest to the benefits of the old Hollywood-style studio system that Marvel has resurrected: Under the umbrella of structure and quota is security, which can bequeath qualified freedom. On the occasion of the release of Thunderbolts*, here’s a ranking of every film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) to date. Chuck Bowen

Who would have thought that the “Now You See Me” franchise would spur some of the biggest names in indie film? Oscar-nominated filmmaker Jesse Eisenberg and Sundance darling Dave Franco both return for third film “Now You See Me: Now You Don’t” along with their fellow Four Horsemen magicians Woody Harrelson and Isla Fisher.
And there’s a new generation of indie stars joining the big Lionsgate franchise: Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, and Ariana Greenblatt, who were also all in person to stage a visual “heist” in the heart of Times Square to promote the trailer. Lionsgate gave away $250,000 in digital payments to fans that texted or called a mysterious phone number that was on a billboard.
“Now You See Me: Now You Don’t” also stars Rosamund Pike and Morgan Freeman. The film is directed by Ruben Fleischer with a script by Seth Grahame-Smith, Michael Lesslie, Paul Wernick, and Rhett Reese.

Ariana Greenblatt, Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, and Rosamund Pike all join the cast, with Jesse Eisenberg, Dave Franco, Woody Harrelson, and Morgan Freeman also returning.
The trailer finds Danny Atlas (Eisenberg) leading a young band of magicians as they work to steal the coveted “Heart Diamond” — the “most valuable jewel in history” — from the powerful and corrupt Vanderberg family, who are led by Rosamund Pike’s character. After almost a decade, the Four Horsemen are back. Lionsgate has just dropped the first trailer for Now You See Me: Now You Don't, the long-awaited third installment in the fan-favorite heist thriller franchise.
The official trailer begins with what looks like a Four Horsemen reunion performance; however, it's quickly revealed that a new generation of magicians — played by Ariana Greenblatt (Barbie), Dominic Sessa (The Holdovers), and Justice Smith (Detective Pikachu) — are using the Four Horsemen for their own profit. The ruse is just as quickly uncovered by Jesse Eisenberg's J. Daniel Atlas, one of the original Four Horsemen, who recruits the young trio to help him with a new heist. While Atlas reveals that he parted ways with the Four Horsemen years ago, the team is soon enough reformed, with the two generations coming together to stop a worldwide criminal network.Check out the trailer below.

Yes, Isla Fisher is back as Henley, reuniting with Jesse Eisenberg’s Daniel Atlas, Dave Franco’s Jack Wilder, Woody Harrelson’s Merritt McKinney and Mark Ruffalo’s Dylan Rhodes, after she sat out the second film in the franchise. Unfortunately, that means no Lizzy Caplan this time around.

Let’s face it. We could all use a little more Jason Statham in our lives. The British actor is everything that a hero should be and is hands-down one of the best modern action stars around. Fully in agreement with our sentiments, Hulu is cooking up a little something special for Statham fans next month when the streamer will make both The Transporter and The Transporter 2 available to subscribers on May 9. If you’re thinking “there’s something missing,” you’re right, because The Transporter 3 won’t be part of the streamer’s Statham-packed lineup. However, you don’t need the full trilogy when you have the first and second films, especially since the follow-up is celebrating a milestone moment with this year marking its 20th anniversary. That’s right – we’re all old!

'The Incredible Hulk' creator Kenneth Johnson believes the two Hulk movies flopped because the audiences didn't accept the CGI character in the real world. The 82-year-old screenwriter-and-producer was responsible for bringing the Marvel Comics character to life on the small screen in the iconic TV series which ran from 1977 to 1982 and starred Bill Bixby as Dr. David Bruce Banner and professional bodybuilder Lou Ferrigno as the giant green brute.Johnson, like audiences, was underwhelmed with Universal's two films; Ang Lee's 2003 'Hulk' and Louis Leterrier's 'The Incredible Hulk', released in 2008, and the reason for both movies box office drop-offs and lukewarm reviews was that it was hard to accept the CGI Hulk acting against the human cast.Speaking to Bang Showbiz, he said: "After the first movie came out it opened really big, but the second week it was the historic fall...

After Fast X was released, Vin Diesel said that Universal might make two more Fast & Furious movies, depending on how well Fast X did in theaters. At first, director Louis Leterrier didn’t confirm if the next film would be the last one. But now, we know what’s really happening.
A new spin-off movie called Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Reyes was announced not long after Fast X came out. This movie will star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Jason Momoa, and it will focus on their characters, Hobbs and Dante Reyes. This news really shed light on that second movie, which now turned out to be Fast X Part 2.

What if you were stuck indoors for the foreseeable future? That may sound like an acceptable prospect — in theory — for introverts, but for our heroes in the upcoming film 11817, it’s a disconcerting position to be in, to say the least.

If that doesn’t sound nightmarish enough, their resources are running thin, and they must work together to survive not only a lack of essentials but also the mysterious, looming threat that is keeping them trapped inside.

No, the headline of this article is not a reference to Jason Statham's leading role in Uwe Boll's roundly mocked film "In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale," one of the most derided of all video game adaptations. Instead, this refers to some voice work that he did early in his career. It seems that Statham played a minor voice role in the very first "Call of Duty" video game in 2003. "Call of Duty" was a military-based shooter game set during World War II, released on the PC, and eventually for the XBox 360, and the PlayStation 3. It was a big hit in the early 2000s, and spawned a massive franchise that is still going strong to this day. There are five games in the original World War II continuity, eight games in the "Modern Warfare" spinoff series (set in the present), seven games in the "Black Ops" spinoff,...

In Julius Onah's 2025 superhero flick "Captain America: Brave New World" -- the 35th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe -- Tim Blake Nelson reprises his role as Samuel Sterns, a brilliant scientist with a massive brain and an evil scheme at hand. Sterns had previously been seen in Louis Leterrier's 2008 film "The Incredible Hulk," wherein he suffered a head wound and was knocked onto a laboratory floor. Gamma-irradiated blood extracted from Bruce Banner dripped into Sterns' head wound, and his skull instantly began to swell.
In "Brave New World," we finally see the result of Sterns' skull-swelling: he had been transformed into a hyper-intelligent villain. Known as The Leader in Hulk comics, Stern had greenish skin, clouded eyes, and an outsize head with brain-like crevices in it. He claimed to be so smart that he could predict the outcome of anything. In a new Instagram post, the actor is seen donning a Toretto’s Garage t-shirt that elaborates on the themes of the franchise with words, heart, legacy, and family. The caption doesn’t give away anything as Diesel wrote, “Grateful and blessed…” which he always is when it comes to the Fast & Furious franchise. Jon Favreau's "Iron Man 2" is the third film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but really it was the first. Favreau's "Iron Man" from two years before was a Paramount production, but wasn't yet part of any grand plan to interconnect the characters from Marvel's "Avengers" comics. Its post-credits stinger featuring Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury was, Favreau has said, just meant to be a cute wink to fans rather than a statement of intent. Likewise, Louis Leterrier's "The Incredible Hulk" from the same year, while boasting a fun cameo from "Iron Man" actor Robert Downey Jr., wasn't yet tied to any broad corporate plans. (It's since gotten a sequel of sorts in the form of "Captain America: Brave New World.") By 2009, however, Disney had purchased Marvel and put the MCU into production in earnest, starting with "Iron Man 2."

Vin Diesel took to Instagram to announce that he will direct a new Fast & Furious short film that will set the stage for the franchise’s grand finale. This would actually be Diesel’s second time helming a Fast & Furious short. Back in 2009, Diesel wrote and directed Los Bandoleros, a prequel to the fourth installment of the franchise which explained what Dominic Toretto had been up to since the events of The Fast and the Furious.

When you think of Jason Momoa, his role as Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones certainly stands out. He has played many more since then, proving his acting skills.
Momoa acted before Game of Thrones, but mostly in smaller parts. Still, we can’t overlook his role as Jason Ioane, the new lifeguard from Texas in Baywatch when he was just 19 years old. The big roles came after his time as Khal Drogo, though. Here are his top five:

Humanity has been sharing stories about horrific monsters since time immemorial, and some of these tales have become so ingrained in culture that they end up outlasting the societies that created them. That’s why we still see movies based on mythic figures like Hercules and the Minotaur over two thousand years after the end of the Hellenistic period.
And with even Christopher Nolan borrowing from Greek Mythology in his upcoming Odyssey adaptation, we’ve decided to compile a list celebrating six of the scariest depictions of ancient Greek monsters in film. After all, an epic quest is only as thrilling as the strange beasts that our heroes encounter along the way.
In an effort to keep things varied, we’ll only be including one entry per monster. That being said, don’t forget to comment below with your own mythic favorites if you think we missed a particularly spooky example.

Jon Favreau's 2008 film "Iron Man" kicked off the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a multimedia superhero property that would remain dominant in the pop consciousness for over a decade. Initially, "Iron Man" and Louis Leterrier's own 2008 MCU movie "The Incredible Hulk" (which finally got a sequel of sorts in 2025) were meant to be mere stand-alone superhero sories, only including references to the Avengers as a cute wink to fans. But when Disney purchased the Marvel library in 2009, a grander plan was put in motion, laying out multiple films at once, each one introducing a new character. Eventually, all the superhero characters teamed up in 2012's "The Avengers," which was essentially the cinematic version of a TV season finale. That structure held fast through to "Avengers: Endgame" in 2019, the 22nd film in the franchise, and one that featured many, many superheroes.

The Transporter series introduced everyone’s favorite action hero, Jason Statham, and one of the sequels in the fan-favorite series is all set to stream for free. Fans have been waiting two years for the cliffhanger ending of Fast X to be resolved in Fast & Furious 11. Unfortunately, they could be waiting another two years, as franchise star Alan Ritchson recently explained what is holding up filming from beginning on the sequel.
Speaking with Screen Rant to promote Reacher Season 3, which premiered on Prime Video on Feb. 20, Ritchson explained that scheduling complications are largely to blame for Fast & Furious 11's filming delay. "That is one of the biggest challenges that franchise faces is that you've got a lot of guys like Dwayne [Johnson] and Vin [Diesel] and [Jason] Momoa and myself and everybody's super busy. So trying to get the stars to align so we can make that happen is a feat of nature," he said. "So we'll see how it goes, but this is a passion project for Universal and it's one that I had a blast doing, so I'd love to get in there,...

Before we even start counting down our ranked list of every single Marvel Cinematic Universe movie, we think it's necessary to take a moment to acknowledge just how massively the MCU has changed the game since its inception in 2008. Across 35 films, 11 Disney+ streaming series, and a couple of one-off specials, the screen adventures of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Panther, Spider-Man, the Guardians Of The Galaxy and more have given audiences an incredible interconnected comic book movie universe — one that spans Earth, the microscopic Quantum Realm, and even the infinite, mind-boggling expanse of the Multiverse. It’s the ultimate playground for films packed with amazing adventures, serious spectacle, and considerable character development, told across nearly two whole decades of cinematic storytelling.

Upstart French sales outfit Lucky Number has picked up global sales rights to director Wesley Rodrigues’ “The Bird Kingdom,” backed by French “Flow” producer Sacrebleu Productions and Brazil’s Lupa Filmes. UFO Distribution will distribute the anti-violence fable in France.
Set in a fantasy version of the Brazilian Sertão, an arid wasteland where men can shapeshift into birds of prey, protagonist Assum Preto is taken as a child by Carcara, an outlaw who aspires to be a local legend.
“I’m a producer, but I am mostly an artistic producer. I think I have a good nose to find good projects, and I guess I also have a strong nose to find good partners,” Sacrebleu producer Ron Dyens told Variety of his film’s new sales agent. “And we had a very strong first feeling when I told Olivier [Barbier, Lucky Number co-founder] the references I had in mind for ‘Kingdom.

In Michael Mann's "Collateral," Los Angeles cab driver Max Durocher (Jamie Foxx) spends his nights picking up and dropping off customers across the bustling city. Mann hones in on the vivid texture of the city at night, the subtle beauty of the busy neon-lit streets, and the eerie silence that fills up the cramped, empty alleyways. Something ominous seems to be lurking beneath the lull of everyday mundanities, and this sentiment manifests in the form of Vincent (Tom Cruise), a hitman who takes Max hostage after boarding his cab as a customer. A game of tense cat-and-mouse follows ... but an odd incident occurs even before Vincent boards Max's cab and terrorizes the man to no end.
When Vincent arrives at the airport in the film's opening, he bumps into a man who hands him a bag. This man, played by none other than Jason Statham, is credited solely as "Airport Man,...

The Fast & Furious franchise scored another hit in 2023 with Fast X, and even though critics tried to slam the brakes on the (reportedly) penultimate movie in the franchise, audiences were mostly happy with the increasingly elaborate high-octane action movie. However, Vin Diesel has previously suggested that he really wants to bring the franchise back down to the ground with the same kind of gritty street racing that made the original movies a success. Now another star of the franchise has echoed the sentiment, which is also something that many fans would like to see as the saga comes to a close.
Original Fast star Jordana Brewster recently shared her thoughts on how she would like to see the franchise go “back to the roots” of the saga. In an interview with Collider to promote her new movie Heart Eyes with Final Destination star Devon Sawa, Brewster said:
“Yeah, big time.

Vin Diesel recently announced that the final scenes of Fast X: Part 2 will be filmed in Los Angeles, marking a return to the city where the franchise first began 25 years ago. On social media, Diesel said the move is a way to support the city’s economy, which has been struggling after massive wildfires caused widespread damage.
Jordana Brewster, Diesel’s co-star in the franchise, urged him to push Universal to relocate the production to LA. According to Diesel, she emphasized that the city ‘needs it now more than ever.’ Universal has not yet commented on the decision.
The first Fast and Furious movie focused on LA’s street racing culture, but over the years, the series has expanded to shoot in locations like Tokyo, Rio, London, and Havana. Now, with wildfires continuing to cause destruction in Los Angeles, the decision to return feels particularly meaningful.

Vin Diesel announced that “Fast X: Part 2” will finish shooting in Los Angeles, the city that provided the setting for the first film in the long-running franchise, as a way to bolster a local economy that’s been hit hard by devastating wildfires.
“Los Angeles is where Fast and Furious started filming 25 years ago… and now Fast will finally return home,” Diesel declared on social media.
On Instagram, Diesel said that Jordana Brewster, his co-star in the series, reached out to him and urged him to press Universal to move the rest of the filming to Los Angeles, saying that the city “needs it now more than ever.” It’s unclear how much more of “Fast X: Part 2” is left to shoot. In today’s episode, we’re pulling the curtain all the way back for 2013’s Now You See Me– We want to know how an all-star cast became master magicians and fooled an entire division of the FBI, all while performing miracles on lush Las Vegas stages. We’re going to discuss what the movie is, how it got made, and even why Isla Fisher refused to return for the sequels. We’re about to get into all of it, so let’s go.
The art of the heist movie is a delicate thing. It’s not enough to stuff a handful of celebrities in an extravagant location and give them a big bag of sexy money. You have to innovate. Give your team incredible stakes with minimal odds, while inventing a charming and witty dynamic between the characters. Oh, and of course, you’re gonna want that bag of sexy money.

Now You See Me's elaborate heist movie sees a group of magicians, regarded as "The Four Horsemen," performing public illusions during their shows that allow the group to commit a series of thefts. Louis Leterrier has directed the action films The Transporter, Transporter 2, Unleashed, and Fast X, the action comedies The Brothers Grimsby and The Takedown, the mystery thriller Now You See Me, the fantasy adventure Clash of the Titans, and the comic book adaptation The Incredible Hulk (not to mention the TV shows The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance and Lupin), and over the decades his films have racked up $2 billion at the box office. Last May, we learned that he’ll be directing and producing the film 11817, working from a screenplay by Matthew Robinson (The Invention of Lying), which will see him venturing into the sci-fi horror realm. That same month, it was announced that Kingsley Ben-Adir (Bob Marley: One Love) and Greta Lee (Past Lives) would be starring in the film… but now it looks like Ben-Adir has had to drop out, with Wagner Moura (Civil War) stepping in as his replacement.
