The returning 1990s sitcom Frasier has already enjoyed two rebooted seasons on the air thus far, but will the sardonic psychologist return for season 3? The 2023 Frasier series is a direct continuation of the original, which ran from 1993 to 2004, and catches up with Frasier as he moves back to Boston to get closer to his son. Despite the nearly 20-year gap between the original and the reboot, star Kelsey Grammer hasn't missed a beat, and the return of Frasier Crane proved to be an instant hit on Paramount+.
Season 2 has upped the ante from the somewhat safe and reserved debut season, and Frasier's sophomore outing features a slew of new faces and returning characters from the classic series. On top of that, Frasier has continued to develop as he not only tries to fit in with his fellow staff members at Harvard, but also balances his love-life with his attempts at a relationship with his son,...

Long-running TV shows can be a blessing and a curse. The blessing part is obvious enough — if a show has run long enough to get past the old marker of syndication (100 episodes), then it must be popular. The longer a show runs, no matter its genre, the more its popularity must be pretty solid. Consider that procedurals like "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit" and "Grey's Anatomy" have been on the air for literally more than two decades.
But the longer a show runs, the more it can cost to produce (the actors on those shows understand all too well how popular they are and want to be compensated to match). And for guest stars who arrive later in a show's run, they can find that the atmosphere is a bit closed off to newcomers, whether or not the guest is there for one episode or a handful. One such...

Patrick J. Adams reflects on reuniting with Suits co-star Gabriel Macht, sharing his hopes for future collaborations. Adams and Macht, who played Mike Ross and Harvey Specter in the popular legal drama, recently shared the screen for a run of T-Mobile television commercials. The advertisements debuted earlier this year, capitalizing on the resurgent success of Suits on streaming, and leaned into the banter that Mike and Harvey were known for.
In an interview with TVLine to discuss his slate of projects, including the Yellowstone spinoff The Madison and his guest spot in the Fox crime drama Accused, Adams was asked about reuniting with Macht for the T-Mobile ads. In the quote below, the actor reflects on working with his former Suits scene partner and expresses a desire to collaborate once again:

After 23 years, the timing is finally right for the Frasier reboot to bring back a fan-favorite character: Jean Smart's Lana Gardner. The original Frasier ran for 11 seasons from 1993 to 2004, garnering a record-breaking 37 Primetime Emmy Awards. A spin-off of the beloved sitcom Cheers, Frasier centers on Frasier Crane (Kelsey Grammer), a psychiatrist who returns to Seattle to host a radio show and winds up living with his father, Martin (John Mahoney). Frasier's cast of characters includes other memorable personalities, from Frasier's brother, Niles (David Hyde Pierce), to his producer, Roz (Peri Gilpin).
In true sitcom fashion, Frasier also boasts a solid rotation of recurring and guest characters, including Lana. First introduced in season 7's "Big Crane On Campus," Lana is Frasier's former classmate. In high school, the show's title character had a massive crush on Lana, who he then considered to be way out of his league. Although the duo gets together a few times,...

Patrick J. Adams and Gabriel Macht are suiting back up for the Super Bowl. The stars of the legal drama Suits are among the talent featured in T-Mobile’s 2024 big game commercial, along with Laura Dern, Common, Jennifer Hudson and Bradley Cooper.
Last year, Cooper and his mother starred in a well-received Super Bowl ad for the brand.
“So this year, there’s a number of us that are attempting to audition to maybe take over and be the new face, body, soul of T-Mobile,” Adams said of the commercial concept.
The ad finds Adams and Macht in an unassuming garage as they film an audition tape sharing the perks of T-Mobile’s new customer appreciation program, Magenta Status, which offers users special deals and experiences at brands like Hilton, Hertz/Dollar and Live Nation.

The Kansas City Chiefs aren’t the only returnees to the Super Bowl.
Bradley Cooper and his mother, who last year raised eyebrows with a no-frills commercial for T-Mobile, are making a new play. In their 2024 effort, the actor and his mother are among a bevy of famous faces auditioning for “magenta status,” a membership perks-and-discounts plan. Laura Dern, Gabriel Macht, Common, Patrick J. Adams and Jennifer Hudson are among those trying to win the rewards.
Participants in the commercial were “thinking about all that every actor has ever gone through auditioning,” says Dern, via emailed comments and “just enjoyed making each other laugh.” The concept, she adds, was devised by “my dear buddies Bradley and Gloria Cooper and our mutual friend Brian Klugman” an executive at Panay Films, which worked on the campaign. Jason Momoa thinks the Super Bowl just might do wonders for his comedy career.
The actor is best best known for his turns in action-heavy projects such as “Aquaman,” “Dune” and “Game of Thrones,” but gets to shake it all off in a new T-Mobile Super Bowl commercial. He will be spotted dancing to Irene Cara’s “Flashdance… What a Feeling” alongside Zach Braff and Donald Faison, the actors who have been part of the company’s Super Bowl efforts for the past few years. Momoa gets doused with water, hits a few high notes in song, does a flip and even meets Jennifer Beals, the actor who starred in the “Flashdance” movie.
“People are just seeing a different side of me,” Momoa tells Variety in an interview, while noting that he’s primarily “known as a dramatic actor” due to the roles he won early in his career. But...

Maestro on Netflix tells the true story of Leonard Bernstein and explores his relationships, including his affair with David Oppenheim. David Oppenheim was an American clarinetist and classical music and television producer who was a close friend and sometimes lover of Bernstein. Oppenheim had multiple marriages, had children with different wives, worked in the music industry, and became the director of Columbia Records' Masterworks division. He later became the second dean of the New York University Tisch School of the Arts before his death in 2007.
Maestro tells the true story of American composer Leonard Bernstein and primarily focuses on his relationship with his wife, Felicia Montealegre. But the movie also explores some of the conductor's other bonds, like the one with David Oppenheim. Although his time in the 2023 Netflix biographical drama film is short, Matt Bomer stars as Oppenheim, and his character, like many others in the movie, is based on a real person.

Bradley Cooper is known for his roles in films such as “Limitless,” “A Star is Born” and “Silver Linings Playbook.” On Sunday, T-Mobile hopes he will be recognized for his work in one of their Super Bowl commercials.
In the spot, Cooper tries to sell his mother, Gloria, on T-Mobile telecom services, but their banter gets in the way. Cooper’s mother pokes fun at his wardrobe, the script and her ability to deliver her lines — all of which keep the actor laughing. In the meantime, the duo does manage to rattle off a number of features that might interest the crowd watching at home.
The ad marks Cooper’s first turn acting in a Super Bowl commercial and is believed to be his first work in a national ad campaign.

The art of being a movie star includes good timing. Take the American Cinematheque Tribute to Bradley Cooper on Thursday night. These events usually burnish star luster, as in the case of recent recipients Amy Adams, Matt Damon, or Matthew McConaughey. But when such a tribute unfolds at the height of an Oscar campaign, it can move the needle. “A Star Is Born” scored Best Director and Actress at the National Board of Review this week, which reflects the movie’s current status as the frontrunner for Best Picture, Actress, and Actor at awards site Gold Derby.
These events are carefully curated. Warner Bros. put this event in motion two years ago, with the fall 2018 release date of “A Star Is Born” in mind. And while Cooper self-deprecatingly mocked the huge posters and program covers all around the Beverly Hilton ballroom — in George-Clooney style — when I greeted him at his table,...

Bradley Cooper’s friends and colleagues gathered at the Beverly Hilton on Thursday night to salute his career as he was presented with the American Cinematheque’s 2018 Sid Grauman Award.
“When we do these Q&As and things together, sometimes you call me Gaga, but we both know that you call me Stefani,” Cooper’s “A Star Is Born” co-star Lady Gaga said, fighting back tears. “I ran from Stefani for a long time, and I put on a superhero cape and called myself Lady Gaga. He challenged me to deep dive into a place where I had to see her again. Where I had to be Stefani again.”
“I’m so grateful to you, not just for making me a better actress,” she added, “But I’m so grateful that, not have I only been able to call you as a professional, but I’ve been able to call on you as a friend.

There was a lot of talk about how handsome Bradley Cooper is on Thursday night at the Beverly Hilton, where the director and star of “A Star Is Born” became the 32nd recipient of the American Cinematheque Award at a black-tie fundraising dinner and ceremony.
And there was a lot of talk about how hard-working he is and how talented he is, lots of the kind of plaudits that are the currency of the realm at Hollywood awards shows.
But something felt different about the tribute to Cooper. “Most of us have been to nights like this many times before,” actor Sean Penn said when he presented the award to Cooper after a couple of hours of speeches and film clips. “But we’ve never been at one where so many generous and moving things have been said with such extemporaneous spirit.”

At tonight’s 32nd American Cinematheque Award dinner at the Beverly Hilton, guests were seated in the ballroom by 7:30 p.m. But it was not until 10:40 p.m. that the night’s honoree, Bradley Cooper, took the stage after an outpouring of affection from Hollywood colleagues, including A Star is Born co-stars Lady Gaga and Sam Elliott, Jennifer Garner, Sean Penn, and many others.
The dinner and multi-media award show was a fundraiser for the American Cinematheque, a nonprofit organization that owns, programs and operates the Egyptian Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard (opened in 1922) and the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica.
“It took a long time, I know it’s been a very long night, but thank you for staying,” Cooper said, and seemed genuinely stunned by the speeches, some of which moved him to tears. He said the warmth in the ballroom made it feel like “a very small,...

When Bones signs off on Tuesday night, after 12 seasons on Fox, it will do so as the network’s longest-running scripted drama, having solved -- according to finale promos -- 275 cases in 246 episodes. And that prolific conviction rate may not even be the most impressive thing that the series accomplished.
Because Bones -- which was based on the life and works of real-life forensic anthropologist Kathy Reichs -- did more than just stay on the air, leapfrogging more than 20 different time slots in its 12-year run. In a television landscape populated with morose antiheroes and sarcastic protagonists that often poke fun at the earnestness of cops-and-science procedurals like Bones, sometimes directly by name (see: American Dad, Bojack Horseman, Bob’s Burgers and more), the show was a champion of justice and evidence, science and guts, “brains and heart.” It told new stories every week, while at the same time unfolding its central characters little by little, making...

Since the Mid-Season Finale of Arrow, we haven't seen much of Prometheus. The first half of the season brought hope back to viewers as the story line was reflective of Seasons 1 and 2. With the CW confirming Arrow for a 6th Season the writers must fix some things in order to avoid it being their last.

This has always been my main issue with Arrow. Don't get me wrong, I love the show and want it to succeed, but beginning with Season 3, secondary characters have received too much of the focus. I completely understand that in order to take a character from flat to round, they must have the screen time to be developed, which I agree with.
What I have the issue with is how the writers have balanced this development. In Season 1, Oliver was The character. Yes, Diggle, Tommy, Laurel,...

Take a modern day, edgy Thelma & Louise and combine with it a female Fight Club, and you have Jakob Lass’ latest German flick, Tiger Girl! A Berlinale panorama special, this film is a daring, fast-paced, action packed story of Vanilla, a good girl gone bad, who receives her appropriate nickname by Tiger, a“new friend” and savior of sorts, whom she encounters during a time of duress. Tiger, played by the striking Ella Rumpf (quite reminiscent of a young Angelina Jolie), is a carefree, aggressive badass, who doesn’t take shit from anyone. She is a street-fighter with a conscience. Straddling the fine line between a menace to society and supergirls, the girls’ friendship is both strengthened and threatened as their various escapades test the limits of morality.

What I love most about international film festivals is the opportunity to discover rare gems and stimulating foreign indie flicks, which may otherwise get lost in the mainstream blockbuster shuffle. One of this year’s contenders is a compelling Brazilian slave drama, set in the isolated backlands of this lush country, in the early 19th century during its painfully colonial times. Vazante is tragic story of slave trader Antonio, who in the event of losing his wife in child labor marries his late wife’s 12-year-old niece.
While waiting for his child wife to mature and irritated by a lack of diamond production in the Diamante Mountains, Antonio is advised by one of his foremen to cultivate and farm his vast rugged land with his captive slaves. Isolation, fear, violence, betrayal and prejudice are all at the premise of this beautifully shot black and white film, with minimal dialogue and score.

From Fox: "The team investigates the death of a popular professional hockey player whose headless corpse was dumped in the river. As Booth and Aubrey question the player?s coach (guest star Jeremy Roenick as himself), Booth?s depth of hockey knowledge is integral to solving the case, and he?s reunited with a hockey rival from his past, putting him back on the ice once again to face off against him. Meanwhile, Hodgins and Oliver (guest star Brian Klugman) have a competition of their own when Hodgins builds two drones and they compete to retrieve the victim?s missing head, and Booth and Brennan attempt to declutter their home."...

With spunky Betty White guest starring as Dr. Beth Mayer, a brilliant forensic anthropologist who steps in as the squint-du-jour to help Brennan solve a case, it would be impossible for "The Carpals in the Coy-Wolves" not to be one of Bones' most wet-your-pants-laughing-out-loud episodes in recent history. Add Brian Klugman to the mix as mega douchey Dr. Oliver Wells, the condescending polymath squintern with a stratospheric Iq, and the atmosphere explodes with unabashed inappropriate subject matter, professional rivalry, double entendre (of a sexual nature, of course) and lots of snark.
Also hysterical is our very own Bones Superman, Special Agent Seeley Booth. Playing straight man to Brennan and her absurd view of the universe, Booth had me bursting with laughter at the seven minute mark of "The Carpals in the Coy-wolves," and it didn't stop there. One has to wonder how many takes it took for these two...

The Bones regular’s film credits include The Lincoln Lawyer and the upcoming indie Baby, Baby, Baby from director Brian Klugman. She’s repped by Evolution Entertainment.

Bones will likely be renewed for its 10th and final season, Fox chairman Kevin Reilly revealed at the Television Critics Association press tour. With that in mind — here are five things we want to see before we say goodbye to Booth, Bones, and the squints forever.
5. Bring back Zach! (And other characters): When the season 3 finale revealed Dr. Zach Addy (Eric Millegan) as Gormogon’s apprentice, it disappointed many fans. It’s time the writers brought him back (although he has since appeared in three episodes) and set it right. In season 4, we learn Zach didn’t actually kill...

Rebellion (15)
(Mathieu Kassovitz, 2011, Fra) Mathieu Kassovitz, Iabe Lapacas, Malik Zidi. 135 mins
Working with a real-life 1980s incident in New Caledonia (not dissimilar to a French Falklands), Kassovitz crafts a thoughtful thriller with no heroes, only good intentions compromised by colonialist mistrust and distant politics. His negotiator is set between a hair-triggered French military and separatist rebels, but with an election back home, not everyone wants a peaceful outcome.
Promised Land (15)
(Gus Van Sant, 2012, Us/UAE) Matt Damon, John Krasinski, Frances McDormand. 107 mins
With fracking as the central concern, this finds it hard to avoid being an "issue movie", but there's some human drama to it. Damon's gas agent comes to an archetypal small town with a buyout in mind, but the locals and their country ways get to him.

Dr. Oliver Wells (Brian Klugman) arrived in "The Fact in the Fiction" to be the newest squintern rotating through the crime-fighting world of "Bones." But how does Wells measure up against his competition? Using standards of education, social skills and sheer entertainment value,
Education
Dr. Wells is easily one of the best-educated of the squinterns. Like Clark Edison (Eugene Byrd), Wells has a PhD. On top of this, he has a whole pile of Masters degrees.
Without doctorates of their own, the others don't have a chance.
Intelligence
You need to be smart in order to finish all of those degrees in a reasonable amount of time. Since most of the other squinterns have but one field of study, Wells -- with his widely varied advanced degrees (Law? Seriously?) -- totally wins there.
On the other hand, this might just be an inability to focus. There's a good chance that...

It’s been a while since Bones brought a new intern into the rotation at the Jeffersonian, but “The Fact in the Fiction” changes that. In fact, while there is a decent case being solved, most of the episode focuses on what each of the team members thinks of newcomer Dr. Oliver Wells (Brian Klugman).
And with a last name like Wells, it’s only fitting that the other major focus of the episode is time travel.
The time travel aspect is introduced when Booth (David Boreanaz) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) discover that the young victim whose body was impaled by a tractor was a college student with an interest in the possibility of time travel. With a turbulent family history and a girlfriend so full of herself she makes Brennan look modest, it’s no small wonder all ...

Actress Emily Deschanel has spent eight seasons on Fox's hit crime-drama series Bones (TV). The show's success is due in large part to it's riveting storylines and the engaging (if not dysfunctional) relationship between Deschanel's, character Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan, and that of FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth, played by David Boreanz. The two share an intense and sometimes comical chemistry as they unearth the mysteries surrounding human remains discovered by the FBI and attempt to solve various murder cases. This Monday's episode capitalizes on the highly enigmatic relationship as Deschanel's character Brennan is critically shot and wounded at the Jeffersonian lab following an argument with Booth. It's a pivotal event which causes Brennan to evaluate her life, her relationships, and her long-practiced philosophies as she ventures into emotionally unchartered territory. It's a show that Bones (TV) fans will not want to miss. Emily recently sat down with reporters to...

Chicago – What sins can a man commit and manage to live with for the rest of his days? Can he enjoy the rewards of unearned praise and adoration? These provocative questions could easily serve as the basis for a compelling thriller, as proven by a multitude of titles including Woody Allen’s “Crimes and Misdemeanors” and “Match Point.”
First-time filmmakers Lee Sternthal and Brian Klugman (nephew of Jack) are skilled at threading these questions into a multi-layered narrative, but have no idea of how to explore them in any meaningful way. Their debut feature, “The Words,” spends the majority of its running time stringing the audience along before abandoning them just when the narrative has started to become interesting. All the goodwill built from a series of intriguing, often well-acted scenes is lost in a single, unforgivably premature cut to black.

The Words is a film with a fascinating story at its core. It revolves around a writer, Rory Jansen (Bradley Cooper), who puts everything he has into writing a book that ends up being rejected by every publisher he submits it to. Just when he thinks his writing career might not take off, he happens upon a valise that contains an old manuscript for a novel written 50 years ago, telling the tale of a young soldier who falls in love with a French woman.
In his desperateness to have a successful writing career, he takes the amazingly-written novel and submits it as his own. It is immediately published, getting him massive acclaim from everyone who reads it. It brings him everything he ever wanted: fame, success, and a means of getting his other work published. However, the novel’s true author (Jeremy Irons) ends up finding him, not for revenge,...

It’s always fun when the squint squad adds a new member. Bones is going to do just that and we have the scoop on which fresh face will be added to the Jeffersonian’s crew. It’s actor Brian Klugman of Frasier fame.
Klugman’s character on Frasier, the wild-haired Kirby Gardner, was a recurring one which I always looked forward to seeing. He was the eldest son of Lana, who was acted by Jean Smart. She was Frasier’s high school crush, but as one of the cool kids, Lana hadn’t really mixed with the soon to be psychiatrist during their youth. Fraiser had the chance to date Lana as an adult twice and both turns sort of flopped. She’s gorgeous, but she’s also loud and bossy and smokes like a chimney. There is going to be a new face around the Jeffersonian lab when "Bones" Season 8 returns this winter. Brian Klugman has been cast as the newest squintern working for Dr. Brennan (Emily Deschanel).
The newest young scientist on the show will be named Oliver Wells (according to a report from TVLine), a fellow smart and confident enough to not be intimidated by the occasionally harsh management style of Brennan. With four degrees under his belt (Are we getting another "Dr." Squintern like Clark?), some arrogance may be justified.
Oliver will not, of course, be smarter than Temperance Brennan. That's not allowed on "Bones."
