Warning: The Following Contains Mild Spoilers for The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2, Episode 1, "Power Equals Power"
The Walking Dead: Dead City finally made its long-awaited Season 2 premiere last night on AMC after a two-year absence, and fans were not disappointed. Starring Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, the fifth series in the franchise serves as a direct sequel to The Walking Dead, which ended in 2022. While fans got to see Morgan's character of Negan in a precarious position after being presented with what many are calling Lucille 2.0, he says there was a lot more to that scene that ended up on the cutting room floor that would have made it have even more of an impact on viewers.
Speaking with Deadline, Morgan noted how far Negan has come since fans were first introduced to him back in 2016, and how he's gone from a ruthless killer to an antihero savior.

Has Twd’s spinoff introduced a wacky time system? (Photo Credit – Prime Video)
The Twd Universe within the show has expanded and incorporated several offshoot trajectories, which can be a little confusing to keep track of. The timeline in The Walking Dead universe is different from what we usually see. While we usually use A.D. or B.C. to mark the historical dates, the Twd universe reportedly has a time marker of its own.
With the premiere of Dead City season 2, there was an unmentioned presence of date in one of the scenes in the first episode. The entrance of the Bricks’ residence had the date “Founded 17 P.D.I.” This dating method could mean a timeline after the outbreak of the dead. While there has been no confirmation about the usage of a new time measure in the show, it can be assumed that there is one, as...

Early reviews for The Walking Dead: Dead City are finally in, and we know how the second season of the post-apocalyptic series stacks up to the original. The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2has debuted with an 80% score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes at the time of writing, which is the same score the first season earned. This comes from only five reviews compared to the first season’s 57, and while there is certainly some wiggle room for it to adjust as the season goes along, it’s still a good sign that Season 2 is a worthy follow-up. The first episode of The Walking Dead: Dead City will premiere this Sunday on May 4, and subsequent episodes will be released every Sunday. The show is based on the novels by Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard and was written for TV by Eli Jorne.

After nearly two years, the wait is almost over with a brand-new season of The Walking Dead: Dead City arriving on AMC and AMC+ this Sunday, May 4. There will be a lot of loose ends that need tying up when audiences pick back up with Lauren Cohan’s Maggie and Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan, and in a freshly dropped teaser, we’re getting a peek at some of those storylines. With supporting performances from Gaius Charles (Friday Night Lights), Željko Ivanek (Black Hawk Down), Lisa Emery (Ozark), Dascha Polanco (Orange Is the New Black), Kim Coates (Sons of Anarchy), Logan Kim, and Mahina Napoleon, the sophomore installment promises to be bigger, bolder, and badder than the set of episodes that first paved the way for the offshoot.
Kicking off the teaser, Negan (Morgan) can be heard saying, “Show’s about to start,” as the character confidently walks into a room.

We knew the day would eventually come, but that doesn't mean it's any easier to accept. This May, Netflix will be saying goodbye to one of the most beloved political drama series, which is sure to disappoint fans. Madam Secretary, with its captivating depiction of a strong female lead managing the challenges of global politics, has resonated with audiences for years. Its departure will leave a noticeable gap in Netflix's political drama offerings, and fans will surely miss the sharp-witted Elizabeth McCord and her remarkable team as they balance the chaos of world affairs with their personal lives.
No, you didn't read that wrong. Madam Secretary is really set to leave the platform next month, marking the end of its long streaming run. Netflix has already placed a removal notice on the show's title page on the platform. All six seasons of Madam Secretary will be removed from the service on Thursday,...

If you thought The Walking Dead was done for good after the Og show ended in 2022, think again. Because AMC decided to continue the franchise with a spin-off show focusing on Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan reprising their roles as Maggie and Negan. Titled The Walking Dead: Dead City, this show started off with their journey into a post-apocalyptic Manhattan to rescue Maggie’s son.
Now, when the first season premiered, it created the impression that a six-episode show was enough to tell the story of Maggie and Negan’s journey. But now that Season 1 is over, it’s clear that The Walking Dead: Dead City was never intended to be a miniseries. So guess what? AMC has greenlit season 2 for the 2025 premiere.

Since its television debut in 2010, fans have never been able to get enough of The Walking Dead universe. The flagship series lasted for 11 seasons and gave birth to several spin-offs, including Dead City, which serves as a direct sequel to the main saga. Premiering in 2023, fans were reunited with Maggie (Lauren Cohen) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) as they navigated a post-apocalyptic Manhattan, and now they're back for a second season, which officially returns to AMC on May 4, 2025.
The news came yesterday during IGN Fan Fest, and on hand to discuss the upcoming season were Morgan and Cohen – who also serve as executive producers – and Scott Gimple, Chief Content Officer of The Walking Dead universe at AMC. While Season 1 of Dead City had a clear antagonist by way of Željko Ivanek as The Croat, that isn't the case in Season 2, which Gimple said has a lot going on in it.
