    • Trivia
Six times (in 1998, 2000, 2004, 2006 and 2008), he won an Emmy for directing Oscar telecasts while he was working. He was working because each time, he was directing the very Emmy Award telecast that honored him with the statuettes. He accepted all his awards on camera from the control booth, thanking people in between shouting commands to the production crew.
