The hit series 9-1-1: Lone Star recently came to an end, but the franchise will be moving forward with another spinoff series to fill the empty void that's created. This time, the show will be focusing on emergency responders working in Tennessee.

Per Deadline, it's been revealed that a new show, 9-1-1: Nashville, is coming to ABC for the 2025-26 season. It was previously reported that a new 9-1-1 offshoot was in development, though details weren't confirmed about its location. Currently, no information is known about the plot of the new series beyond its setting in Nashville, and no cast members have been announced. It can be presumed that a team of first responders will be at the heart of the story.

Say what you want about Ryan Murphy, but he always seems to be thinking about the best way to make his television empire thrive. Before today, there was no indication that his popular procedural series 9-1-1 and his newest endeavor, Doctor Odyssey, shared a universe, but that's all set to change as the worlds of his two ABC series are about to collide.

Per Variety, 9-1-1 and Doctor Odyssey will cross over in a special episode of the latter that will see Angela Bassett's character, Athena Grant from 9-1-1, head over to the cruise ship on Doctor Odyssey led by Joshua Jackson's Dr. Max Bankman. Doctor Odyssey focuses on a different themed cruise in each episode, and this particular crossover event will take place during Casino Week on the ship, which will see Bassett's Athena suspecting two passengers of trying to Ocean's 11 the ship's vault.

With David Corenswet poised to assume the mantle of Superman this July in James Gunn's hotly anticipated Superman, all eyes are on the up-and-coming actor. FX’s horror anthology series returns on Wednesday, April 3 with the first of its final four episodes of Season 12. Note that “AHS” was split into two parts for this installment because of the writers’ and actors’ strikes that shuttered Hollywood for much of the 2023 calendar year.

The first five episodes of “American Horror Story: Delicate” aired in September-October, telling the story of an up-and-coming actress named Anna Victoria Alcott (Roberts) who’s campaigning on the awards circuit while dealing with supernatural pregnancy issues. The Patient (FX) The Patient

Most episodes of FX’s The Patient stick with the perspective of Steve Carell’s Alan Strauss, a therapist held captive by a serial killer portrayed by Domhnall Gleeson. But in the seventh episode, “Kaddish,” the camera zooms out. As Alan says the Jewish prayer of mourning for both his dead wife and himself, director Gwyneth Horder-Payton photographs Carell through a rain-stained window in the basement room where he’s imprisoned.

“It just felt like the time to pull back the cameras and observe this human being in his own misery,” says executive producer Chris Long.

Backlit by light pouring in through glass bricks, Carell stands solemnly holding a piece of paper his captor printed out for him with the words of the kaddish. It’s an emotionally fraught moment, but Long and creators Joe Weisberg and Joel Fields thought it best to leave the character in his loneliness.

There will be no fourth season for Big Sky at ABC as the network has opted not to renew David E. Kelley’s drama series. It is unclear yet whether co-studio A+E Studios would seek a new home for the show starring Katheryn Winnick and Kylie Bunbury.

Big Sky, which had a straight-to-series order, was a breakout when it premiered in November 2020. It was one of the strongest broadcast series to launch during the pandemic-hit 2020-21 season and set a mini trend for a big-name actor (in this case Ryan Philippe) to be announced as a star of a series and be used heavily in the marketing campaign only to have their character shockingly die in the first episode.

Ratings for the heavily serialized Big Sky have significantly slipped since the high flying first season, with the drama among the lowest rated scripted series on ABC this season when the show aired 13 episodes vs.

Musical artists Lyle Lovett and Darius Rucker have been tapped to guest star in an upcoming episode of ABC’s Big Sky.

Lovett will play Tex, an expert tracker with a quiet menace hidden beneath a courteous, gentleman-cowboy exterior. Like a snake charmer, his gift for music makes him all the more deadly.

Rucker will portray Possum, a hired gun who works at night like his nocturnal namesake, and Tex’s partner, for better or for worse, on this particular job.

At the series finale premiere for “Pam & Tommy” at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles Tuesday night, the Hulu series’ cast and creatives stressed the importance of spotlighting Pamela Anderson’s story in today’s world.

“I think these violations of privacy happen way too often — and the way that the media responds and us, as a society, respond is often so awful, particularly toward women,” James told Variety on the red carpet. “There are these huge double standards, women are torn down and reduced… So I think we really need to look at that.

Rich joins previously announced series leads Steve Carell and Domhnall Gleeson as well as cast members Linda Emond, Laura Niemi, and Andrew Leeds in the series, which hails from “The Americans” duo Joe Weisberg and Joel Fields.

In the half-hour series, a psychotherapist (Carell) finds himself held prisoner by a serial killer (Gleeson) with an unusual request: curb his homicidal urges. But unwinding the mind of this man while also dealing with the waves of his own repressed troubles creates a journey perhaps as treacherous as his captivity.

Rich previously appeared in the critically-acclaimed Netflix series “Glow” in the role of Florian, the butler and best friend of Sebastian “Bash” Howard. He is also known for playing a young Pablo Picasso in the Nat Geo series “Genius: Picasso,” with Antonio Banderas playing the elder Picasso.

ABC has announced the midseason premiere dates for the return of original drama series “A Million Little Things” and “Big Sky.”

“A Million Little Things” is back with new episodes of its fourth season starting Feb. 23 at 10 p.m. Et on ABC. The series, which premiered in 2018, focuses on a circle of friends as they struggle to move on when a member of their circle dies by suicide. Recently, Gleeson appeared in Frank of Ireland for Channel 4 and Amazon, a series he also co-produced and wrote with Michael Moloney and brother Brian Gleeson, and in Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway opposite Rose Byrne and James Corden.

The series premiere of David E. Kelley’s Big Sky has surged in multiplatform+35 viewing. Over 35 days of viewing on linear and digital platforms, the premiere episode has reached 14.7 million Total Viewers, making it ABC’s most-watched debut since The Good Doctor in September 2017.

Big Sky also scored in the key Adults 18-49 demo, rising to a 3.97 rating with 35 days of multiplatform viewing. It marked ABC’s highest-rated series debut in the demo since A Million Little Things in September 2018, and is nearly six times the premiere episode’s initial Live+Same Day rating (0.68). ABC on Monday picked up a six-episode backorder, bringing Big Sky Season 1's total episode count to 16.

The series was the network’s first new scripted series of the season to launch, and has emerged as a hit.

After seven days of viewing across linear and digital platforms, the show vaulted to 10.8 million viewers and a 2.5 rating among adults 18-49, becoming its highest-rated debut since The Rookie in October 2018.

David E. Kelley’s new drama “Big Sky” has received six more episodes from ABC, the broadcast network said Monday. That brings the total for the first season of the Katheryn Winnick- and Kylie Bunbury-led thriller to 16.

Based on the book series by C.J. Box, “Big Sky” follows private detective Cassie Dewell (Bunbury) and ex-cop Jenny Hoyt (Winnick), who join forces to search for two sisters who have been kidnapped by a truck driver on a remote highway in Montana, per ABC. But when they discover that these are not the only girls who have disappeared in the area, they must race against the clock to stop the killer before another woman is taken.

The series premiere, which aired Nov. 17, ended with a twist that saw lead character Cody Hoyt (played by Ryan Phillippe) shot dead by State Trooper Rick Legarski (John Carroll Lynch).

“Big Sky” is getting a little bigger.

ABC has issued an order for six additional episodes of the freshman drama, bringing the season 1 total to 16 episodes. News of the additional order comes only three episodes into the season, which premiered back in mid-November.

It comes as no great surprise given that the show has been a strong ratings performer for the Disney-owned network. After seven days of delayed viewing, the series premiere grew to 10.8 million total viewers and a 2.5 rating among adults 18-49, making it ABC’s most-watched and highest-rated series debut since “The Rookie.”

The premiere’s big numbers can likely be attributed in part to the shocking twist at the very end, when one of the lead characters, Cody Hoyt (Ryan Philippe), was shot dead by State Trooper Rick Legarski (John Carroll Lynch). Philippe and fellow stars Kylie Bunbury and Katheryn Winnick addressed the twist during the series’ virtual premiere.

ABC has made its first back-order pickup of the 2020 season, giving David E. Kelley drama Big Sky an additional six episodes.

The crime thriller, which was the network’s first new scripted series of the season to launch, has performed well since its debut on Tuesday, November 17. After seven days of viewing across linear and digital platforms, the show secured 10.8 million viewers and a 2.5 rating among adults 18-49, becoming the network’s highest-rated debut since The Rookie in October 2018.

The show’s second episode also held 100% of its L+3 debut rating among the same demo and increased numbers in total viewing.

Carly Pope has been cast as a guest star in ABC’s two-part Season 4 premiere of “The Good Doctor,” Variety has learned exclusively. Pope will portray Lily, a woman whose husband has become sick with symptoms that mirror those of coronavirus. The premiere, which focuses on the effects of Covid-19, will include Lily’s increasing frustration at not being able to stand by her husband’s side due to safety protocols in place. Pope is represented by The Characters Talent Agency, Gersh and Link Entertainment.

Exclusive: ABC has announced a new lineup of stars set to round out the cast for its upcoming David E. Kelley thriller series Big Sky. Joining the show are Brooke Smith, Jeffrey Joseph, Gage Marsh and Gabriel Jacob-Cross.

Smith is set to star as Merrilee Legarski and will act opposite John Carroll Lynch’s Rick as his wife and mother of their two children. Joseph will star as former military soldier Jospeh Dewell and father of detective Cassie Dewell (Kylie Bunbury). Marsh will star as Justin Hoyt and Jacob-Cros as Kai Dewell, Cassie’s son.

Before joining Big Sky, Smith most recently starred in Jay Roach’s Bombshell and Netflix’s Unbelievable. Smith, who also starred in Bates Motel, Ray Donovan, Supergirl and Weeds, is set to appear in Little Marvin and Lena Waithe’s Amazon anthology series Them: Covenant.

ABC has rounded out its fall schedule with changes and premiere dates involving its drama series.

Five ABC dramas — returning Grey’s Anatomy, Station 19, The Good Doctor and A Million Little Things as well as straight-to-series newcomer Big Sky — which were featured on the fall 2020 schedule unveiled by the network in June, have been assigned November premiere dates and to roll out between Nov. 2 (The Good Doctor) and Nov. 19 (A Million Little Things). All five series are already in production on their new seasons in Vancouver and Los Angeles (Grey’s Anatomy and spinoff Station 19).

Flagship Grey’s Anatomy is getting a two-hour Season 17 premiere on Nov. 12.

The action at Camp Redwood has jumped forward in time to 1989, and it shows both in character actions and in character motivations. That's a big milestone; the change-over from one decade to another always seems like a big deal to people, and in a lot of ways to the characters on American Horror Story: 1984, the end of the Reagan era is also the end of their era of relevance. It's been a common retrain in the later portions of the season. Their time is ending, and they'll all soon be forgotten, but never is it more explicitly stated than in this week's episode, with multiple people eulogizing the good and ill of Reagan's America in long rhapsodies.

In Roanoke, they went from a reenactment of true events to a reality television series about the reenactment crew and the real characters sharing a haunted house together.
